Lame, 1st round over and all the Canadian teams are out.

This has got to be the worst playoffs ever... worse than the year Montreal knocked out the two best teams in the league. Upsets by teams who can't score are not exciting.
Pitts Philly was one of the craziest spectacles ever, but other than that it has been a snooze.
The teams left in the West make me throw up in my mouth. I can't remember a year when I literally had no interest after the first round was done.

Also, while I too dislike Philly, a Flyers-Rangers conference final is perhaps the only potential remotely interesting series that is still possible...

I like seeing some new teams make the next step.

I like seeing the 'sure bet' teams lose and get a taste of humble pie. Good for the lower ranked teams.

Judging by how loud I yelled when Florida scored to tie it, I guess I'm cheering for Florida.

Like how many times have you seen Detroit go far, it gets boring after a while. What's boring is the thought of a Nashville-Phoenix series. Upsets are great, but in hockey it often means neutral zone trap low scoring boring games. It's not the idea of an upset, it's how upsets happen in hockey specifically the last few years. New Jeresey circa late 90s mastered defensive-mind hockey and became a dynasty. Minnesota became a pesky opponent. They changed the rules of hockey because no one was watching anymore. This 'good for smaller teams' talk is a red herring. If you think this is good for hockey as a business you are way off. Phoenix has been consistantly a stronger team than the leafs for a few years now... it doesn't matter. Big markets will remain big markets.

Big markets will always be big markets, yes, but it's not an either/or situation. Small markets can grow to be bigger markets, and one of the ways they can do this is by putting a winning team on the ice.

Pitts Philly was one of the craziest spectacles ever, but other than that it has been a snooze. Despite the awesome highlights those games produced, they were pretty bad games. If I was actually a fan of either of those teams I would have been ripping my hair out during that series. It was just a straight up shooting gallery. The defence played by both of those teams was aweful as they refused to adapt to the others style and just tried to score as many goals as possible to make up for it. As a casual observer it was sorta fun to watch, but if the Canucks played a series like that I would hate it. Judging by how loud I yelled when Florida scored to tie it, I guess I'm cheering for Florida. Haha, at this point I just want to see close games, so I basically cheer for whatever team is losing.

I think I watched a total of about 4 periods of the NJ/FLA series, and I was devastated when Florida lost.

A spectacle, yes, but not a clinic in playoff hockey by any means. Also sportsman ship may have been at an all time low. I don't want to give the impression that what I prefer is all playoff games to run 12+ goals per game.

I will say that an LA-Philly final would make for some good storylines with all the players than have changed hands over the last year. Besides that, can't think of one interesting finals matchup.

Since I don't have a team to cheer for, I'm just getting wrapped up in all of the excitement. A shootout would have been splendid.

I will say that an LA-Philly final would make for some good storylines A loss in the finals to the LA Kings would be the only acceptable thing on this Earth for Philly to be allowed past the 2nd round.
