The goalie for Boston (Tim Thomas) is a tea-partier and turned down an invitation to go to the white house and meet Obama with the rest of his team. They are playing Washington in the playoffs and this has become a big thing.

Come on Canucks, we can do this. My hometown Kamloops Blazers came back from 0-3 and are in game 7 tonight in Portland...it can be done!

Gunna be a dick and point out that the Canucks are one of the least Canadian teams in the league in terms of their players nationality. It seems like the canucks are actually whole again and are playing themselves, I have a glimmer of hope! COCONUT SCONES! |

The playoffs have gone full derp this year. Seriously it's been painful to watch. People are trying to murder each other out there.
Count me as a guy who can't wait until fighting is gone, but seriously, who is liking all these brutal hits and suspensions? It's fucking awful.

Making the playoffs was enough for me, heck having a record above .500 was enough. I'm really proud of them for the season they had, and especially for not just bowing out of this series. I guess I'm going for Portland now  |

I enjoy brutal (legal) hits and the fast pace of play in Playoff hockey. Also, the commit/compete level is just incredible. It really makes regular season hockey look like minor league.
The dirty cheap shots are unacceptable though.

As long as there are dirty, dangerous hits you need fighting to deter it. I get that, though it sets a terrible example for youth in sport. They need to reign in dirty hits, then maybe they can get rid of fighting.
