Ok, I touched on it in the now playing thread, but Lord Knows that it will be buried instantly. Basically what this involves is making a playlist that's less than 70 minutes in length, and actually BURNING IT ONTO A CD! (Wow, now that I think about it, I can't even remember the last time I burned a cd... But, as always, I digress) After doing this, you would then mail your CD to your assigned partner, and would get one back in return! I think if this actually goes off, it could be very very cool, and you'd have a personalized CD that one of your board friends made you. Priceless. I'll keep an updated list of who is involved (Please only say you want to be involved if you are actually going to follow through) here in the OP. I'll say that... Monday, the 14th of March TUESDAY THE 8TH OF MARCH, will be the cutoff date. I will do the pair matching, and I'll do my very best to keep it in country, cause shipping between canada and the US isn't the cheapest thing, I hear. I hope this thing goes off, because it could be really really excellent. Oh, last but not least: I don't expect you to PM me your address. You guys can keep that stuff just between partners. ;D People in: Blacksmile- CSouly- CJ. Walter Weatherman EmptyFox- CWolfhat- CStamper Snorlax Stick Figures King of Herbs- CSwitchy New Jersey Lumps MikefuckinHancho RustneverSleeps- CCatSquatch Geno Gang Warily Shaxpear CChaco Drew I was tempted to say THE "C" IS FOR "SUCKS" But it really just means in canada. EDIT: NEW DEADLINE IS TOMORROW, MARCH 8TH! BE THERE OR BE MISSING OUT ON SOMETHING ROUND.

Thread started today, but the deadline was the 14th? If it's still open, I'm in!

Boy, I do love mixes, but whenever I make a mix there is always a theme. Like "dance music" or "Sasquatch 2010" or "classic rock" or whatever. It seems like there is no universal theme present. Is this true? I would love to make a Sasquatch 2011 mix and share it with someone(s).

No universal theme whatsoever. You do exactly whatever you want with it. I think part of the point, to me I guess, is giving this microcosm of who you are to someone to help them get to know you a little better. Shall I add you to the list?

I think I might make a "best of Sasquatch" mix from the years that I've been. Not sure yet, but I'll figure it out later. Go ahead and add me!

Yeah Yeah Yeah!!!!! This is going to be fun. With the deadline being March 14th I have some time to think of how to do this. My faves of all time? My favorite 90's? The best of what I currently listen too? Just a monster mix that is all over the place? The decisions to be made! Maybe my partner will get a double.

I love this idea, and would like very much to participate in it. Unfortunately I do not have CD burning capability at the moment; as I've mentioned a couple times to a few of you, my music library is in purgatory until my Macbook is resurrected (I swear that it's actually happening and I'm not just talking about it like it's the child I never had).
I have a laptop with a CD tray but, for some reason, no CD driver - that I've been trying to fix too, because I told Know that I'd make him a Residents CD as an overview of some of the material they are playing on the current tour and I haven't even been able to do that (sorry Gunther; I didn't forget, swear I'm trying to work it out).
My suggestion is that if there's only a half-dozen or so people participating, why not just make a copy of the mix you put together for each one of the participants. That way we get a STACK of mixes from a BUNCH of different people; if someone decides to flake then nobody gets shafted. Posting isn't too terribly much, and blank CDs cost next to nothing so it's not going to be a huge investment.
Still though, lovely idea j-dub. If there's a round two after my Mac comes back, or if it magically comes back to life in the next week and a half or so, I'd love to get in on this.

To be a little clearer, I'm suggesting that the deadline of march 14th will be the cut off for adding your name as a participant. Once everyone's names are in and you find out who your person is, That's when you should make your mix. Gramma, I think its a great idea to send out a stack, but I'd rather not prematurely shoot my wad on what may turn out to be a dry run and end up with a mess on my hands, so this time at least, I think we'll probably stick to one on one.
Someone had the idea of knowing who you're sending to, but not who you're receiving from, and then trying to guess who yours is from. I think this is a great idea, but it would involve me being the holder of addresses, and I would totally understand people's apprehension in that. However, if you guys think that this is a good idea, (which I really really do) I promise you that your address will end up only in the hands of the person who is sending you a CD.
This could work out any number of ways, and there's still a lot of time to figure it out. Would really appreciate feedback on how you prefer to do it. I suppose if there's a couple people who aren't too keen on handing out their address I could match them up.
Ok, done rambling. Super tired, just got home from work. But please, Feedback! This will seriously be awesome.

I'm fine with that. I'm not sure what the difference is between one random person from the internet having my address, and two random people from the internet having my address.

Put me on the list. Oh and whoever my partner might be, don't worry, you won't get a 70 minute Bright Eyes mix. I swear. I might sneak one song in there though.

Sure, what the hell, I'll do this. Personal challenge: Including NO Sasquatch bands.

Yeah you guys can pretty much count on not hearing any Sasquatch bands on my mix. Honestly there's a pretty good chance that I'll end up sort of pitying the person who ends up with mine.
