Cbats: It is funny how your lack of an avatar is psychologically disorienting. I seem to just skip over your posts for some reason. I'm not trying to be a dick, it is something my mind does automatically. My mind says "lack of avatar, no compute, next". (yes my mind sounds like a robot).

Cbats made a post he later deleted saying he hates avatars, and his five stars should be enough. In this case, I agree, he's been here for a couple years, so I recognize his posts based on the username and stars. People who are new to the board should have avatars, because I can't tell any of you apart. That is why I mentioned it to blacksmile, I read a couple posts that sounded like the guy knows music, then realized he had 250 posts, and I didn't know any of the first 200. |

I didn't delete the post, it's still there in the RAA thread I really can't stand avatars especially gifs...aren't the stars next to my name enough? that said, since it seems to bug you guys so much i put one up but I'll probably change it consistently. I tried resisting but at this point everyone has one and it really sticks out that I don't. oh well |

And I feel for those people who see the album as an art form (I'm the same, the way I am with albums is song:album::chapter:book). But I like to treat a good mix CD as somewhat of a collage, transforming pieces of an album into a new work.
...or I might just be talkin' out muh ass.

My bad Cbats. I follow this board through the most recent 100 posts, so I'm rarely reading the threads in order. I thought you posted that in the thread I asked blacksmile to get an avatar in, so when I didn't see it in that thread, I figured you deleted it.
I had no clue this mix CD thing was such an art form for ya'll. It sounds interesting.

I don't think that you are talking out of your ass at all  . A mix CD can surely be viewed as a sort of personal collage. It's fun to take someone else's art and make it your own. The one thing that my mix CD's are lacking in artwork and that's simply because I don't own a printer. However, for the purpose of this mix I don't think a pen and a sharpie will cut it so I may track one this time! |

I am a die hard full album listener, but I really enjoy making mixes as well. In fact I think people who listen to full albums have an advantage when making mixes because they actually pay attention to the flow of the compilation and don't just jumble random stuff together. Oh, and I think I was asked if I live in Vancouver, WA or BC. I'm not going to dignify that with an answer. Sorry, Geno. |
