Not CHUD, but I booked my hotel for the second and third A's series in Seattle. The first series is unfortunately during Coachella. Hit me up if you want to catch a game.

That is awesome. I am sure I will be able to catch at least one of those games with you. I will try to get it all worked out on my end. Did you already get your tickets?

No, I'll get tickets at the gate. I did that 8/9 games I went to last year, and I was able to sit wherever I wanted. However, if the Mariners go 23-3 in April, that fair weather city of yours is going to make buying tickets at the gate more difficult. It's a good thing the Mariners are still going to suck this year. Plans are more easily made.

I don't take it personally when people call Seattle a fair weather city when it comes to the M's. They have continually set record lows for attendance over the past few years. However, I am not one of those people. The Mariners are the most important sports team to me (which makes it really shitty when you consider they have had 4 playoff appearances in their history). How about a little wager on the season? I was thinking we could look at the head to head (Mariners vs. A's) series for the season. However many games above .500 in the season series the winning team is, the loser has to by that many beers. Also, at the end of the year standings, however many games behind the team that has the best record out of the two...same deal. For example: A's vs. M's head to head. A's win 12 games and M's win 7. I would owe you 5 beers. Season standings. A's go 100-62 M's go 81-81. I would owe you 19 beers. total I would owe you 24 beers. You in? Edit: I was thinking that I would have to buy Washington beers and you would have to buy Oregon beers.

It's what makes the playoffs so frustrating. I'll accept your season ending standings bet, assuming that is normal store bought (craft) beers. For the head to head game(s) we attend together, I'll bet you a bar beer after the game.

MLB record 10th consecutive opening-day loss. Here's to a third straight AL West title. LET'S GO OAKLAND!!!!
Also, i'm going to go out on a limb and say that Josh Donaldson now holds the record for longest single in the history of the game.

What a weird trade. The M's got Montero (PED's, he does not give a shit) and Noesi (umm...fuck that guy sucks) and the Yanks got Pineda (probably still has a chance to be what they wanted but what an idiot).

Pretty sure I am going to be able to make it down for the Saturday A's/M's game. Maybe I will see some of you guys down there. Should be an electric atmosphere that night. King Felix on the mound, postseason hunt and should be good weather.

I was in Philadelphia this last weekend trying to watch the final couple of games of the season. On Saturday night I was in the hotel room going nuts on gamecast and then Sunday we realized MLB.tv was streaming games for free so we were able to flip between TEX/OAK and SEA/LAA. What a finish to the season. Went right down to the wire. The A's were trying to give the Mariners the wild card spot all September but the Mariners just wouldn't take it from them. That was a hell of finish though. For a while I thought I was going to owe Wonk 40 beers at the end of the year and it is pretty incredible that I only owe him 1. I am going to make it a good one though. Hats off to the A's for pulling their shit together on game 162. October is going to be fun!
