I'm headed down to Phoenix for the World Baseball Classic. Super pumped to see Joey Votto launch some bombs against the Mericans.

Peacock struggled with command and probably projects as a reliever. Stassi, whom I liked (he's a northern cali product), was constantly battling injuries and was still a ways away from making it the the bigs, if ever. I liked Stassi a lot. I have the same opinion of Peacock as I did A.J. Cole. We've already recouped our losses, now we're playing with the house's money. As mentioned many times, I love that the A's are actually trying to win this year, and trading away prospects. If only the Giants would fuck off and let them move to San Jose. I hate the Giants so much, I was actively rooting for the Ravens in the Superbowl, even though they are my favorite team's biggest rival. Fuck SF. Knowing the scheduling trends, I'm pretty stoked all three series the A's are in Seattle are on weekends. They typically only play one weekend series per season. I might go to all of them. Whose couch can I sleep on?

Going down for a golf trip, and catching some Canada games as well as a Matt & Kim show.

Am I the only one who finds it hilarious Cashman broke his leg and dislocated his ankle skydiving? Tandem skydiving is safer than driving a car. They teach you to lift your legs when you land, so if it's a hard landing, you land on your butt. He is either extremely terrible at understanding instruction or he was attached to a Red Sox fan.

Only way that would have been a better story is if he had landed on A-Roid.

Holy crap. Did you see the brawl between Canada and Mexico at the World Baseball Classic? Sounds like womp caught a hell of a brawl. That was one of the better baseball brawls I've seen. I had to google number 16, Cale Iorg, just to see if he's really Canadian. Not only did he throw several punches, but even threw a water bottle at the crowd. Turns out, he was actually born in Canada (doesn't appear he spent much time there), but he's also a Mormon. That guy would be suspended for 20 games if this was a real MLB game, and he's a Mormon-Canadian? Shouldn't a Mormon-Canadian by definition be the biggest pussy ever? espn.go.com/mlb/worldclassic2013/story/_/id/9035253/canada-mexico-brawl-breaks-wbc-game-no-punishments-forthcoming

Looks like one of the M's young pitchers is going to make the rotation this year. Not one that I would have thought though (Walker, Hultzen, Paxton). Brandon Maurer was in AA last year and has been tearing it up this Spring. Last night he went up against a Giants lineup with a lot of their starters in it. In 5 innings he gave up 1 run on three hits, no walks and four strikeouts. This Spring he has given up two runs in 15 innings while walking 5 and striking out 15. I am pretty excited to see this kid in the bigs.

I hate Pickwick so much. Even saying their name makes me want to take a shower.

Three weeks from now, a couple of us are attending the Seattle Mariners v. Oakland A's game at Safeco Field in Seattle. It's Saturday, May 11th at 6pm. It looks like the cheapest seats are in the bleachers in right-center field, $15 after fees. Gramma, Pea, and myself are on board, plus a couple more of you I'm sure. I'll buy tickets sometime next week, so let one of us know if you're interested, via PM, text, or replying here.
