That is the best thing about Sasquatch! Last year I came away a huge fan of Ghostland Observatory, Spoon and the Long Winters, who I had heard of, but didn't know a lot about.
What I do to get pumped up for Sasquatch! is listen to at least three songs from each band that I do not know much about and if I really like the band I make a point to buy an album from the band. Check out the shared music thread on this , I have all of the myspace links posted on the Sasquatch! Blog which usually have 3 or 4 songs per band, I also have a lastfm player on the blog and it has songs from most bands (or will once I finish the playlist), the band's websites have music as well, sometimes I will have heard nearly an entire album from a band before even buying it. Itunes lets you listen to 30 seconds of songs as well. For more ways to hear bands playing Sasquatch! check out the shared music thread on this message board.
It is worth checking into all of the bands, inevitably I miss out on someone great each year last year it was Michael Franti and Manu Chao, but at least I know more about who to check out so that I don't sit through a band that I don't care for while a band that I might have really loved is playing on another stage..........In my opinion it is rare that there is a crappy band at Sasquatch! just ones you don't care for..........
One last thing, pay attention to the bands people are buzzing about, with things like "great live band" if you see a phrase like that over and over, even if you're not into their recorded stuff so much it is worth checking out. For instance, I definitely did not care for Ghostland Observatory until I saw them live. Now I have all their cds and love them. I think I will even make a thread about "great live Sasquatch! 2008" bands! Enjoy your discoveries!

Did anyone notice that they added the Morning Benders, Cancer Rising, Delta Spirit and Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground without an announcement? Go to the official website!

Eugene Mirman makes sense since he is on Flight of the Conchords. I believe Flight of the Conchords CD is on Sub Pop, which would make sense for David Cross (who has MC'd Sasquatch! before) and Patton Oswalt too because they are on Sub Pop. Brian Posehn is doing Bonnaroo, it seems like Janeane Garaofolo (sp?) would be a possibility, she is always around it seems. I think Chris Rock is playing somewhere else during Sasquatch! so I don't think he is possibilty, plus he is huge as is Dane Cook, a tent would be too small. I'm sure it will be sweet, whoever shows up.

On 1077 The End's website is says that MGMT is playing. There a band with a lot of buzz, I wonder if they will be added?

You might be right. I was just trying to point out that so far the list has been accurate so it was worth a look. I am certainly not putting much stock in it, I'm not even adding it as a rumor to the blog at this point. Everything will be sorted out Monday.........

That's true, but like you said you don't want your IP address to be banned. I'm not saying that it is totally accurate because obviously I don't know if it is, but Wiki has been accurate so far...... so I guess we'll see...... if someone is just editing for the heck of it why stop with those bands, why not make it outrageous!

Wikipedia also added Jack Johnson, The Kinks, Schoolyard Heroes, Modest Mouse, The Kooks, Uffie, R.E.M. and 65 days of static...... Now, Travis Hay got insider info that Jack Johnson wouldn't be there, but who knows.....The Kooks, R.E.M., Modest Mouse and 65 Days of Static are basically confirmed. I can't find anything that supports The Kinks playing, their unofficial says they're playing a farewell gig in the UK on May 24th. Schoolyard Heroes is local, a possibility, but their music is more Warped Tour, but still possible, no confirmation. I'm not familiar with Uffie, but she is labelmates with Justice, no confirmations that I've seen for either. What do people know? I have found that Wikipedia has been fairly accurate with Sasquatch! over the years......

I looked around for info on the Beirut show, but I couldn't find it. Where did you hear about the show so I can add a link.

Yeah, I think it is more of a guess than a solid rumor. Also, Ozomatli is going to be at Sasquatch! ozomatli.com/site.php?content=livePersonally I don't care for them, but some news nonetheless......

Someone told me they got an e-mail from Sonic Boom Recordings about that. I haven't been able to find it on their sites or Sonic Boom Recordings. Is it just in the e-mail?

Yeah, I was worried about that, but there wasn't any damage to my car, I don't know about others. The mud was the real problem in the aftermath, some people got stuck. The hail was really that big though, anyone have any pictures to show?
