Great list, I think you and I have pretty similar taste in music. Curious if you have listened to Big Thief, Japanese Breakfast, and (Sandy) Alex G's albums from last year. They're all in my top 20 anticipated sets for sure. Those are some to that have escaped most of my attention so far. I listened to Japanese Breakfast's last album once and remember it being pleasant, but not going back to it. They have all been on my list of needing to check out for a while, but I'm almost scared to discover any more music I love on here until the schedule comes out. There is no possible way I'm going to be able to see all of the acts a want to as it is. The conflicts will be rough indeed. It's the ultimate first world problem. Anyway, I highly recommend these albums (Big Thief - Capacity, Japanese Breakfast - Soft Sounds From Another Planet, and (Sandy) Alex G - Rocket) to anyone who hasn't heard them.

Dirty Projectors @ Crocodile 6/21. Wasn't expecting that small of a venue for them but I can dig it.

My mom tells me Three Billboards is kind of like Fargo. Frances McDormand connection aside, can anyone back this up? I don't trust my mom's taste in cinema. Also every thread is every thread. This is your fault, samsquanch. I accept all the blame. I actually did think Three Billboards had a Coen Bros-esque vibe, even aside from McDormand, but not nearly as good as just about anything they've done. I still enjoyed it though and would say it's worth a watch. Sam Rockwell's supporting actor win was well deserved.

Regarding Bon Iver (SPOILERS): A user on the Bonnaroo subreddit reports that Bon Iver is splitting the shows on this tour into two 45-60 min sets. 22 A Million in full > intermission > a mix of material w/ "surprises" + an encore. I'd speculate that well get 22AM in full, maybe a short break followed by a shorter second set. This makes his Bonnaroo booking seem a lot less special. I was kind of under the impression he would play 2 sets, possibly on different days, with a different setup, maybe different band members, different stage, different setlist... But it sounds like it's just 'set 1' break 'set 2'. So what? Lots of acts have an intermission, I don't ever see them booked as '2 unique sets'. I think they could still do something like what you were imagining at Bonnaroo. They are doing the intermission thing right now for their London residency but I agree it would be lame if they just do the same thing at Bonnaroo, given how it's billed.

I'd speculate that well get 22AM in full, maybe a short break followed by a shorter second set. Considering that he's not doing a full tour this summer (or at least he hasn't announced one yet) and his Bonnaroo appearance is billed as "2 Unique Sets", it could be that this info is directly related to Bonnaroo only. But he did just do that show where he played For Emma in full plus at least one unreleased song from that era, so who know what we'll get? Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be glorious. Last night in London they did 22AM in its entirety, intermission, and then eleven more songs. But the info about the intermission was provided in advance. I don't really see an intermission happening in a festival setting. I just hope they play as many songs as possible, twenty one (like they did last night) seems so much more satisfying than the usual 16-17 they've going with lately.

I love the idea of the tent just having music when it used to have comedy. Having a nice shaded place to watch music during peak heat of the day would be awesome. There are times when it seems to have the opposite effect. It turns into a stuffy furnace in there if the crowd is big and the sun is shining.

forgiveme if this has already been discussed, but does anyone believe in the theory that band name colors on the poster correspond to the days they'll be playing? The only bands I've seen with specific days announced are The National and David Byrne, but I haven't done much digging aside from the first few lines.
E: I know the theory has been discussed but just barely from what I remember.

Japanese Breakfast killed it at Neumo’s tonight. Her stage presence is infectious and they put on a great show. It’ll make for a great mid-afternoon drinking set at yeti, or something like that. Hopefully she just gets slightly less drunk at sas, haha

Sometimes I forget that Jlin is on this lineup, then one of her songs comes on and I get really happy. Then I get sad again when I think that she will inevitably be playing in the tent at the same time that Bonny Bear is on the main stage. Bonny bear is the only conflict-proof one on the lineup for me, assuming D Byrne is main stage and thus not conflicting with them. But there will be some brutal ones. I really hope Paak, Tyler, and Slowdive don’t end up against Jesus Vernon too but one can only hope for so much. I love the national and MM but I could see myself leaving either set early in order to catch one of the aforementioned acts

I finally listened to Ray LaMontagne today and Oh, boy. He’s not really my kind of jam for daily listening, but I could totally picture myself wrapped up in a blanket sitting on that chilly, windy hillside just letting his voice and smooth guitar licks wash over me as the sun slowly sets. He is perfect for Sasquatch and I really hope he gets one of the sunset sets even though his billing seems to indicate he’ll go on after sunset. While compiling my list today I discovered that Ray here worked with Jim James on his new album. That doesn’t mean much but man if Jim James just came out and threw up a bone, what a fucking set man. James aside I’m surprised at how many Ray songs I actually know. Damn, as a huge MMJ fan, that makes me more interested in LaMontagne. I mean, "Trouble" will always be a classic but I tried to listen to that whole album a few years back and really could not get into it aside from the title track. What are the other songs you know? Regardless, I'll be there to see him if there's no conflicts, but if there's anything I'm remotely more interested in, it's not happening.

$6.99 sixer of Rainier tallboys vs. $8.49 sixer of Coors Light, really? Really, 7-11? You may have us beat in snow quality, Rockies, but in the world of mountain-themed shitty beer you can fuck right off. $1.50 cheaper for 96oz of beer that tastes way better? Does this kind of thing happen in other regions in the country? Ok, they probably have Coors Banquet for the same price as the light, but still.
