Look how many will likely be on other stages (Walla? Blue Scholars? Tegan/Sara?). They usually run a 6-8 band local stage. Do we have 18-24 of those yet? If not, expect more. Tegan and Sarah are not local they are from Calgary. That's not Pacific NW. Its on the other side of the Rockies But they lived and recorded a lot of their music in BC for a long time so there's your NW connection. I think Tegan and Sara will be early on the main stage if only because they're listed above Ozomatli and New Pornographers on the website

So I saw on Radioheads website today that they have released the dates of eight shows in May that are mostly on the eastern seaboard and texas. That's all right and everything but it also gives about 10-15 more tentative locations for dates that they will do in August? What are they doing for the 2 and a half months in between. And for a band that says they want to be more carbon neutral, stopping a North American tour for that long to go overseas and then come back would be absured? Unless they plan to tour South America for almost a month and half? If you looked on the tour dates page of their website you would see that they're in Europe through June and July.

i predicting kanye just go look at his tour dates and theres a gap You mean the 2 day gap between Minnesota (Saturday the 24th) and Saskatoon (Tuesday the 27th)? That's a fair distance of travel I just can't see him flying his whole crew from Minnesota to essentially the west coast then flying back to the middle of the Canadian prairies the very next day.

Take this for what it's worth. Queens of the Stone Age don't have any dates listed for May, but as of next week it will be announced that they will be performing in Victoria, BC on May 1st. So yeah, there's something for the rumour mill.
In June they'll be in Germany.

Ozomatli at Sasquatch 2 years in a row? Really? That's a little odd. I know Neko case did two years in a row but her first set was shortened due to the hail...

Hate to say I told ya so, but I kinda did last page with my assumption of the Minnesota - Saskatoon time frame being too close for Sasquatch.

I'd bet a lot of money considering that article you linked to says this: "No festivals or stadiums will be part of the route." No festivals = No Sasquatch

If anyone is wondering about Kanye West at Sasquatch. It's basically a no go considering his tour schedule:
04-16 Seattle, WA - Key Arena *# 04-18 Sacramento, CA - ARCO Arena *# 04-19 San Jose, CA - HP Pavilion *# 04-20 San Diego, CA - San Diego Sports Arena *# 04-27 Denver, CO - Pepsi Center *# 05-01 Dallas, TX - Superpages.com Center *# 05-02 Woodlands, TX - Woodlands Pavilion *# 05-23 Chicago, IL - United Center *# 05-24 Minneapolis, MN - Target Center *# 05-27 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - Credit Union Centre *# 05-29 Edmonton, Rexall Place *# 05-30 Calgary, Alberta - Pengrowth Saddledome *# 06-12 Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo *
He's in Minnesota on The Saturday which kills that date. There's no way he's subheadlining for the The Cure. Finally the problem with Monday is that he has to be in Saskatoon on Tuesday. Too far to travel in one day.

If you're creative with hiding stuff you can get anything in.
Wear pants or shorts with lots of pockets (ex. cargo shorts) Also always look for the fastest line. 9 times out of 10 they're the ones that do a quick glance into bags and maybe a minor pat down of your sides rather the ones that dig through every nook and cranny of your back and basically a full cavity search.
To avoid thorough bag searches have basically all your visible zippers on your bag wide open so they don't need to feel around your bag and have any large items like sweaters and shoes out of the bag in your hands so when they look in your bag they just see random small items. This helps if you have a hidden compartment that can conseal a SLR camera, camcorder etc.

From my understanding, tickets are through ticketmaster. That's how it's been done in the past. I don't see that changing unless Live Nation has fully launched their own ticketing system and abandoned ticketmaster

1. Bring all the food and booze you can stuff into your car to the camp site. Just don't bring any beer bongs or kegs, or stuff that promotes binge drinking. Also no camp fires. You can bring propane BBQs (even a full size one) but since the entire area is a big grassy field, camp fires and tiki torches aren't allowed
2. Cross the border at either the Peace Arch or the Truck crossing. Either/or. You're still going to wait 30mins - 1hr anyway. Go down the I-5 till you pass Everett, then exit onto I-405 south which will take you to Bellevue. Then exit onto I-90 East. Drive until you find the exit for The Gorge Amphitheatre. Takes roughly 4 - 5 hours depending on if you get stuck in rush hour traffic. When you start getting close to the Gorge, stop in the town of Ellensburg. There's a liquor store there if you want hard stuff. There's also a Fred Meyer for food, beer, chairs clothes etc. and also a supermarket I forgot the name of. It's probably the last town with a significant population before The Gorge.
3. Do you really have to ask if there's added fees? There's always added fees.
4. Huh?

One of the girls I am heading down with, is get this, allergic to beer! What other choices does she have for drinks? Are coolers or hi-balls sold? My suggestion... Fill a water bottle with vodka, white rum, or any other clear alcohol and hide it among 1 or two sealed bottles of water then once you're in just buy slushies and pour the booze in. Just make sure when you fill the bottle that you fill it to the same level as the actual water.

Canadian, Coors, Coors Light and Heineken would be my guess considering that's what's been sold the last couple years. The Canadian will probably be the first to sell out.

Being as that $1000 per pair for 2 days equates to $250 per day for one ticket, $750 per ticket for the 3 day VIP is the same $250 per day.
They made a typo on the website. Why the uproar? The price per day technically is the same as last year.

Two things I think The Gorge and/or Sasquatch organizers should consider one day. Feel free to add your ideas.
1. Rentable lockers in the venue: Coachella has 'em. Why not The Gorge? As much as I "enjoy" abandoning stuff on the hill when going to the floor or side stage, I'd love to be able to stash my backpack or blanket in a locker. My friends last year worked around this by buying some cheap thrift store blankets and bags that they wouldn't care if they lost.
2. How about Sasquatch blankets or beach towels?: Just think, you have thousands of people sitting on the grassy hill. Why not make some merch money on a blanket or beach towel with a Sasquatch logo and lineup?

Pemberton just got another notch better. Wolfmother was added today. Oh and Kathleen Edwards as well.

I like Pemberton's lineup a little more as the top 6 acts could easily headline various festivals as opposed to Sasquatch which have 3 headliners and a good core of mid-tier acts. But the camping at Sasquatch is 1000 times better than Pemberton. The camping rules for Pemberton seem overboard. You can't even park your car in the parking lot unless you have 3 people in it. That plus no outside booze and having to park the car in a seperate area from the campsite just nixed that all together. I'll be renting a condo. Less hassle, more comfortable and no booze price gouging.
This will be an interesting 4 months for me. Coachella, Sasquatch AND Pemberton.
