Dungen are fantastic, seem a natural fit, and kill it live.

Busta and Consequence are both honorary Tribe members now, so I was including them in my hopeful lineup along with HoloPhife.

Yeah, makes sense. She's playing in February in Seattle anyway, and I've got my tickets. She'd be fantastic at Sasquatch, though.

Some artists/bands I'd love to see at this year's Sasquatch:
Cass McCombs Danny Brown Kevin Morby A Tribe Called Quest (HoloPhife) Steve Gunn Angel Olsen Alex Cameron Bon Iver Death Grips Erik Blood Goat Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam Anderson .Paak and/or NxWorries (.Paak is absolutely killing it this year) Parquet Courts Grandaddy Jim James/My Morning Jacket (the former would be find for me, his solo album is excellent this year) Kamaiyah Nap Eyes Nothing (They were scheduled a couple years back, but had to cancel day-of, because the lead singer had been assaulted and was hospitalized...They took that opportunity to write and record their next, killer album) Young Thug Pond (Still have yet to play Sasquatch) Vince Staples Wye Oak BBNG Seattle Rock Orchestra performing Bowie Black Mountain Heron Oblivion Quilt Ka S U R V I V E

While Pea may well be right about that one song, the point is that headliners that older crowds would appreciate have not sold nearly as well as headliners that the younger kids love in recent years at Sasquatch. I'm not making a quality judgement here.

I'd personally like that a bunch, but I feel like Tom Petty would draw less of a crowd with the younger audiences than The Cure. How many people under 25 do you think know anything more than Free Falling?

Kind of a pipe dream at this point, but Childish Gambino announced he'll be performing his old material at live shows which obviously tips us off that he will be doing a circuit in 2017. Not sure how everyone feels about him, but I would love to see him at Sasquatch. I don't see that as a pipe dream. We've had Earl and Danny Brown and El-P and Schoolboy Q, and Childish Gambino played in 2012, if I recall. I don't see any reason he couldn't be on the lineup, aside that maybe that he's busy af playing Lando Calrissian.

Odesza would be caught jerking their wankers if they played those dates and then ignored the fact that they headline/sub-headline, less than 200 miles away from Seattle, within 6 months, at one of PNW's biggest festivals. Despite popularity I've never seen such a close gap in regards to a homegrown artist. Because of the money involved, music promoters and booking agencies take these distance and "time between shows" clauses very seriously. Would be plausible at best, if they had 1 or 2 nights booked at the paramount. Macklemore did a 3 night run at Key Arena in 2013 after headlining Sasquatch earlier in the year. I don't know the relative popularities or career trajectories of Macklemore and Odesza, but there's precedent for a homegrown artist having a well-attended local residency in the same year as headlining Sasquatch. Well, I actually like Odesza more than Macklemore, but M&RL were riding the wave of their massive hit album, The Heist, which has sold at least 1.5 million copies. I have no idea how many albums Odesza has sold, but something tells me it's nowhere near as close. For some reference, M&RL have two albums that have charted well on the Billboard top 200– One was on the chart for 7 weeks and peaked at #4 and the other was on for 102 weeks and peaked at #2. Odesza's single charting album was on the chart for 12 weeks and peaked at #42. Odesza's top-viewed song/video on Youtube has 18,412,761 views. Macklemore's has juuuuust under a billion views. Obviously these aren't perfect metrics for Sasquatch headlining viability, but it does give you an idea of the massive disparity in following between the two acts.

Also I just looked at that first poster and Vince Staples is criminally low on that list, but my assumption is because of how that festival is. He's not really the "yoga in a forest" type of rapper. It has a lot more to do with where the letter V lands in the english alphabet

Yeah, damn. I guess the Odesza boys have made some serious headway in the last year.

Odesza shows aren't really that huge here in Seattle, though. There's a following, but it's no local smash or anything (having attended a couple).
edit: Damn, I guess they just sold out three back-to-back nights at the Paramount, though, so I may be pretty off here. Still, three shows in a row in December...That's gotta drain some of the local interest in them as a headliner 6 months later, right?

Beyond that, calling Odesza a de facto headliner seems quite a stretch to me.
Then again, in a world where Major Lazer gets a headliner font size....

"Catfish and the Bottlemen" is a truly shit name. Are they a parody band?

The other scenario that would make sense is some kind of renegotiation of terms going on with Frank. That said, maybe he just bailed on the festival for other personal reasons.

Justice are not really that great, but at least their live shows are better than their albums. Cross is the only good album they have in my opinion.
edit: I wouldn't be surprised if we got Alex Cameron as a crossover from Primavera, too. Seems right up Zacks' alley, and he's bubbling up.

We should stop with the Radiohead discussion. No need to get my hopes up.

Stoked on Frank Ocean.
Sigur Rós would be fantastic, of course, but that Hangout lineup is BAD. Sasquatch's lineup is always better than theirs, thankfully.

If you look at the presale page on LiveNation for Sasquatch, and click on Price Range, it lists only "US $295.00", so I think the chances are really good that'll be our early bird price. concerts.livenation.com/event/0F005169CD3B226C
