We could end up looking at something like this (curated by BN, happening at the end of this month in Mexico). While not perfect, it’d probably be good enough to get me there.

I did a little snooping over on r/Bassnectar and there are a couple people there “confirming” (without naming sources) that Bassnectar will be doing two sets and one person “confirming” Bassnectar x2 and Griz x2. They obviously wouldn’t/couldn’t say how they knew, but they seemed adamant it was true. So take that for whatever it’s worth.

Welcome to the all new End of the Rainbow message board! I was just wondering if it was too early to go ahead and rebrand the board for this new fest or if we want to wait and see what it actually turns out to be first. That one picture alone gives me all kinds of feels.

I could see this being a pop-psych festival a la Tame Impala cashing in on the instagram hippie vibesters I found the lineup, you guys. Honestly, I’d take it.

Hmmm. Let the rampant speculation begin.

Aphex is wishful thinking You’ve known me here long enough to know that a good 75% of my speculation is just wishful thinking. Although, I would remind you that at this time last year, I was literally the only person here who thought David Byrne would be at Sasquatch and he was. So there’s that. Plus, if there’s anyone who could bring immediate attention to a new festival trying to stand out, it’s Mr Ronald D Jongle.

The Prodigy are touring North America in May with no PNW dates. It might be wishful thinking on my part, but I can really see this new event being another electronic festival, only geared toward a slightly older crowd than Paradiso. Three days, headliners: Aphex Twin / The Prodigy / The Chemical Brothers, and 41 year old Professor Pancakes in attendance. You heard it here first.
Edit: A new generation of contemporary artists not confirmed.

The lineup for Just Like Heaven Fest in LA just gave me a lot of hope.. is it 2007 again? Calling your festival “Just Like Heaven” and not having The Cure on the lineup should be illegal.

Cardi B / Imagine Dragons / DJ Snake Gucci Mane / The Raconteurs / Bassnectar Ella Mai / Cage the Elephant / Modeselektor (DJ Set) Gross. Also waaay too all over the place for one festival. The acts people like aren’t strong enough to draw them all and the acts everyone hates are horrible enough to get everyone to hate it. 3/10, would not waste my money.

I fully expect we’ll see some sort of announcement about this within the week, next Monday at the latest. Sunday is the Grammy awards and I remember Sasquatch announcing the day after the Grammy awards in the past to cash in on some of the hype for having Grammy winners on the lineup. I have no real reason to think that, but it feels like it makes sense to me. The first week or so of February always seemed to be Sasquatch’s favorite time to announce, so I would imagine a similar time frame for whatever this is going to be. With this being a brand new festival, I would think they would want to make a big deal about the announcement and try to build some hype sooner rather than later.

The Chemical Brothers have a new album coming out in April. They are playing LA and San Francisco May 15-17, then Europe in June. If we are in fact looking at a new electronic festival here, I would consider them highly likely, which would definitely get my attention. Put Aphex Twin and The Chemical Brothers at the top of the bill and the rest of the lineup almost doesn’t matter, I’m there.

As far as hip-hop/adjacent artists, do you have any in mind? Here are some on the festival circuit already: Brockhampton Cardi B Childish Gambino Ella Mai Gucci Mane Janelle Monáe Khalid Kid Cudi Playboi Carti Post Malone Pusha T Sheck Wes Solange Travis Scott Wiz Khalifa YG I think we can rule out a hip-hop based event at The Gorge. Summer Jam wasn't welcomed back to The Gorge due to security issues. Eminem has wanted to play the Gorge in recent years but was denied. I was thinking this same thing when the idea of a hip hop festival was floated. I can’t testify to the Eminem thing, but I do recall some legal/security issues ( somebody getting shot or something like that) last time they had Summer Jam there. Since then (and possibly before then) the Gorge hasn’t really targeted black people hip hop fans for anything.

Thanks, mate. Don’t supposed there’s a chance you’ve heard any clues about what the Gorge has planned for Memorial Day weekend? I've heard full electronic festival. I can't personally confirm it but I've heard it floated around from a few different sources now and it honestly makes a lot of sense Aphex Twin confirmed. Seriously though, I need to find out what is going on before I do something crazy like buy Paradiso tickets. Edit: Not to dispute any rumors you’ve heard, but I don’t see how yet another electronic festival makes sense. I get that they usually sell pretty well, but the Gorge already has Paradiso and Bass Canyon confirmed, plus Above & Beyond strongly hinting that they’ll be back there in July this year. Four electronic festivals in as many months feels excessive to me.

How much should I be getting my hopes up for this? Can some of our lovely boarders with insidery connections please weigh in? There's definitely something brewing out there. Don't have super high hopes but it should be a nice couple day event. Don't think they have any monster acts booked Thanks, mate. Don’t supposed there’s a chance you’ve heard any clues about what the Gorge has planned for Memorial Day weekend?

I think it is well worth noting that the release never actually says it’s going to be a 3 day festival. However, the logistics of booking 2+ different shows in the same weekend is a massive clusterfuck and something the Gorge almost never does any more. They always want to encourage campers to stay all weekend, whenever possible. So, even if they do end up as separate shows, I would fully expect them to offer some sort discount package for people wanting to stay and attend all three.

If I can buy just a camping pass without a show ticket, I would have half a mind to go just for that. Just get together a crew of Sasquatch vets and set up a Notsquatch protest camp in D9.

I can't stop thinking about this announcement. It has me so excited, but also it makes like zero sense in my mind. Same here. I’m having a hard time sorting out how I feel about this. I supposed “cautiously optimistic with a emphasis on cautious” would be the closest way I could express it. I’m trying not to get too obsessive about what it could be yet, but between this and the Port Townsquatch rumors, there is a faint glimmer of light in the void Sasquatch left in me. There is no fucking way I’m getting my hopes too high for anything, but there is something genuinely magical about Memorial Day weekend at the Gorge. It would take a pretty giant Live Nation turd to overpower that magic.
