This can't be the whole thing. Well, that’s... not great. BUUUUT... depending on the price point, I think I’m still in. Lil Uzi kind of ruins it, but I’m all in for 2x BN, Griz, Santigold, STS9, Gogol Fucking Bordello, Tom Morello (!), and Vic Mensa give me enough to work with.

Considering Lil Peep is trying to be propped up as a modern day Kurt Cobain, I just don't expect this lineup to be aimed at our age group. I don’t expect it to be targeted to our age group either, but I also don’t expect it to be necessarily terrible. It’s not going to be a Snacks lineup, that’s for sure. But it’s going to be a music festival at the Gorge and, like I’ve said before, it would take a pretty big Live Nation turd to fuck that up. I love Snacks as much as anyone (well, maybe not as much as Stackz), but I also believe that what we’ve come to know as Sasquatch Magic didn’t come from Snacks or a lineup, it came from that place. True magic can neither be created nor destroyed, it only changes forms.

Lollapalooza ‘94 was my first experience of the Gorge and it changed my fucking life. I went every year after until they quit in 98. To have those days noted as an influence for this new festival has me feeling some kind of way. It gives me hope, but I don’t want to get my hopes too high. I’m cautiously optimistic.

3 out of End of the Rainbow’s 13 Twitter likes belong to our Professor. Seems like they should give him some early access for that exposure. That’s what I’m saying. It should be good for some VIP wristbands at least.

Watershed announced its lineup today, which makes me think it’s unlikely End of the Rainbow announces today. But if tickets go on sale Friday, I’d expect the lineup tomorrow or Thursday. Let’s keep the conversation going: do any BottleRock artists seem like potential crossover acts to anyone? Chainsmokers, Snoop Dogg, Thievery Corporation, and LANY jump out as pretty obvious bookings if this festival is going the way we think. I think you’re looking at last year’s lineup there, dood.

Possibly Cypress Hill or Big Boi on the hip hop side. Honestly not seeing much on the BR lineup that feels right for this.

I assume this means their lineup is coming tonight or tomorrow morning. Tickets go on sale Friday morning, so we’ll almost certainly see something this week. Sooner rather than later, I hope.

Gesaffelstein is playing Coachella then Governor’s Ball with nothing announced in between. I don’t know how likely he is, but I think he’s a least plausible. I just really miss Sasquatch and I’m desperate to rampantly speculate on things like this.

Danny Brown (musically correct style, playing Movement in Detroit on Sunday, could easily play the Gorge on Friday). After further review, it turns out Danny is playing All Points East in the UK on Friday the 25th, so this isn’t happening.

can anyone post what they saw that confirmed hip hip is included in End Of The Rainbow? Confidential info from a friend of a friend. Take that however you want, but the friend’s friend knows things.

Kind of echoing what's been said so far, but a third(?) EDM oriented fest at the Gorge wouldn't exactly knock my socks off. I'm cautiously optimistic, but time will tell. *Fourth. Paradiso, Bass Canyon, Above & Beyond Group Therapy, and now EOTR. I agree it feels excessive, but it does appear to be real life.

If we are looking at “EDM and some hip hop” here, I was thinking this morning about what hip hop artists we could be looking at. I imagine they would go for artists that have the most EDM crossover appeal and some names that came to mind are:
A$AP Rocky (has worked with Skrillex*, played the PNW this week, owes the Gorge one for showing up so late in 2016) Danny Brown (musically correct style, playing Movement in Detroit on Sunday, could easily play the Gorge on Friday) Run The Jewels ( RTJ4 coming out this year, any excuse to speculate RTJ will be speculated) Tyler, the Creator (probably not, but he feels like he’d fit the vibe) Vic Mensa (also worked with Skrillex*) Future, YG, Pusha T, Migos (no real reason, they just feel right)
*I am also rampantly speculating Skrillex as another headliner.

Unpopular opinion: Another EDM festival does not make my toes curl. I knew it would never be Sasquatch and while I do love me some knob turners and bar spitters, the instruments were how I justified my otherwise poor music taste.... plus I’m dubious of the crowd this could draw as an EDM/hip-hop show. I honestly can’t tell if this means you like it or not.

I can confirm (at least) 1 crossover between Fuji Rock and Snacksquatch Death Cab? Honestly, that’s the most realistic answer. Although, I happen to be pretty certain that Snacks was personally embarrassed by The Cure’s crowd last time they played Sasquatch and I’m sure he would live nothing more than the chance to book them again. Buuuuut... it’s probably Death Csb.

Where are you hearing this? I would still be down, but I haven’t been able to dig up anything suggesting anything other than pure electronic. A little bird Never mind. I found what you saw. Yup, EDM and hip hop confirmed.

I was just wondering if it was too early to go ahead and rebrand the board for this new fest or if we want to wait and see what it actually turns out to be first. That one picture alone gives me all kinds of feels. I like the aesthetic of that poster too, but I’m not gonna support a full-on rebrand for a first year EDM festival (if that is what we end up getting). I agree it’s definitely too early to change anything, especially considering what we know about what Mr Snacks seems to be cooking up on the other side of the state. Then we’ll have a tough decision to make. I fear our community may become divided into two factions.
