BADBADNOTGOOD. Saw them on Saturday opening for DOOM and they very nearly stole the show...never have I seen a crowd mosh so hard to an instrumental jazz trio, but boy was it awesome. The played a lot of cuts off their upcoming record and it all sounds great.
That would be awesome! I was supposed to see them at Sled Island but unfortunately I did not.
On another note, if the Replacements extend their reunion I think that they would be a good fit for Sasquatch.
Seeing Fucked Up on Tuesday and I'm really excited about it. Commonwealth in Calgary is having their 2nd anniversary this week and there's shows every night. The only one that interests me other than Fucked Up is a Holy Ghost DJ set on Sunday night. Has anyone seen them play a DJ set before? If so, is it worth going? A friend and I might be able to score tickets for free (or very cheap) so I was wondering what kind of stuff they play.
Nice! I had a friend that saw them at Bonnaroo as well and he said it was incredible. 'Coward' was a live highlight for me, it's such a brutal song and I'm happy that they chose to play material from some past work. I agree with you about 'Oxygen' and 'The Seer' though, and I think that those two were probably the best moments.
Sled Island commissions artists every year to make unique posters for specific shows during the festival. I managed to get one of the Swans ones! I hung around after the show to meet Michael Gira and get my poster signed. He is an awesome guy and he seems to genuinely care about his fans. I don't think I've ever met an artist that was so appreciative of his fans coming to see the show.
It's amazing! I luckily got to see them at Sled Island back in June, and it was honestly one of the best shows I have ever been to. I feel that this album does a great job of capturing some of the intensity of their live show, which isn't an easy task.

What if they had presale for both at the same time and announced a headliner for each weekend to help people decide? I know that it would be hard to pick a weekend based on the presence of one act, but it would help a bit.
