Was only like a year ago that 2:20 in this video happened to me, and my mind was blown. Didn't make me like it any less... maybe more. Am I the only one?

I can't believe you guys are actually attempting this. Shiiiit, some of you even ranked them?
I feel like any way you lined them up, you'd still look at your number one and be like 'really? that's my top song of all time?
Off the top of my head I'd be leaning towards A Day in the Life. But then I'd be second guessing if that's even my top Beatles song...

I think I initially made a joke about where's a good canadian festival us Americans can visit to chuck garbage at. I instantly got labeled as a fucking hippie. I found it funny. We Canadians would just quietly destroy our own city.

Never seen Beck live, but I like him. What's the deal, is he a good live performer or what? You do realize that the answer to this question is in almost every single post in this very short thread, right? How bout reading it, Ace? Most of them are speculation as to what he will play or people's favorite Beck songs/albums. But ok.

Ha ha. Tesla, you've much to learn if you think we give a shit (other than Cbats, of course) about Pitchfork. Gambino is boring to anyone who's dug past the surface of modern hip hop. PS - Cbats, you know I love ya! Ok well for the record I've never thought that you, specifically, were biased by reviews. But I don't know you either... haha.

This idea that the only reason anyone hates Gambino is because of Pitchfork is absurd I'm not saying that the only reason anyone hates Gambino is because of Pitchfork. On the other hand I think it would be naive to think that the opinions of many of the boarders aren't affected by Pitchfork/board census in general. I admit I don't know you at all, but to be honest my first impression of you is that you might fall into that category based on the fact that your opinion of Camp was basically Pitchfork verbatim.

Before Pitchfork's review came out, everyone was like, "Hey this Childish Gambino guy is pretty awesome". But after the 1.6 everyone was like, "Wait... we... don't like him? Well if that's what Pitchfork said I guess we have to go with that." Yep. I read Pitchfork reviews all the time, but ffffck use your own judgement from time to time. It's just a guy typing in an office, not the be all and end all of music.

Like I said, he's not at the top of my list or anything. It's not like I idolize him, but yes, I can still laugh at immature one-liners from him even though I'm not 13. It's really not that bad. It's not that it's bad for you to laugh, but it still is a childish immature one-liner, as you've said, at the end of the day. So it is what it is and what it is doesn't have much merit beyond a snicker. I think he has more merit than he is given in that review, even if its an underwhelming 5/10. I'm just saying I'll be at his show barring conflicts and I think it will be fun as long as he's not a shitty performer. Admitting that he is worth a snicker is at least more than that article who calls his jokes 'cringe-worthy'. To each their own I guess.

Also, if ever there was an artist where the term "Late To The Party" completely embodied, it would be Childish Gambino. I'm not saying you're wrong, but who are you suggesting are the predecessors he is ripping off.

Still, when I hear that reviewer take issue with Gambino's sex-related puns I can only picture a bitter, angry reviewer who hasn't gotten laid in a while. This is why you like Childish Gambino. His sex-related puns can only entertain the most immature of 13 year olds if you ask me. There's nothing bitter about being an adult and respecting both women and your own intelligence. Like I said, he's not at the top of my list or anything. It's not like I idolize him, but yes, I can still laugh at immature one-liners from him even though I'm not 13. It's really not that bad.

Not to get too into it, but my hatred comes down to 3 main things: 1. Hash tag rap is painfully unfunny and needs to die. I cringe at basically every other line on this album 2. His persona is way too schizophrenic. I have no problem with artists exploring different part of their psyche in songs but that's not what I hear from Gambino. One song he's making fun of people for taking him seriously, the next song he's berating people for calling him a joke rapper. I don't see a personality at all, I just see him indiscriminately stealing from every rapper out there. 3. pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/16074-camp/The last paragraph here nails my final problem with the album. He's presenting himself as this great alternative to all other rappers out there (and lots of people are buying into this), yet rap is incredibly diverse right now. He's stealing his persona from all of these rappers and then talking about how no one out there is remotely like him. The way he portrays the genre is just flatly incorrect. To summarize: Pitchfork gave his album a really low score because they're butthurt and now everyone hates him. Yes I have read the review before, and while I agree on some points, the overall score and the fact that the review gives zero redeeming qualities to an artist who is obviously a talented guy (even if he feels the need to tell you so in every song) is rediculous. I mean, no offence, but do you have an opinion about gambino that isn't paraphrased directly from that article. People love to link to articles and say that they agree exactly with it when they really mean 'I read this article and I am planning on agreeing with whatever it says'. I'm sorry but his 'persona inconsistancy' does not bother me at all. I can understand how someone might have issue with his (and pretty much all pop-rap arists') self-gratification-filled lyrics. Still, when I hear that reviewer take issue with Gambino's sex-related puns I can only picture a bitter, angry reviewer who hasn't gotten laid in a while. Eminem's early career was filled with everything from fart jokes to anti-gay lyrics to songs about murdering his ex-wife and was generally well-received by critics. Makes no sense to me.

Barring conflicts, I will be at Childish Gambino. I'm not saying he's at the top of my to-see list, but I definately don't hate him as much as everyone here seems to. What's the deal? It seems like people are actually taking his lyrics seriously or something...
I just find his combination nerd-humor and womanizing persona funny. Maybe some of the people here can explain themselves.
