Didn't have enough energy to make it to the Friday or Sunday shows this weekend but I did make it out for the Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth show at Columbia City Theater on Saturday. First off, that venue is rad. If you haven't been there you should find a show you want to see and go. It is an historic building that has had Jimi and Etta James grace it's stage. BOTSC were incredible. There are only two other shows this year that I have been to that have achieved this level of awesomeness. Those were SUMAC and Caribou. BOTSC should be witnessed by all of you (especially those that like heavy music). Next month they have some shows lined up and they implied that they have some big news in the near future regarding more touring:

One of the recreational weed shops in Bellingham is celebrating by having $4 pre-rolled joints and $4 chocolate bars (1 each per customer for the first 100 customers). Also having a bunch of vendors (growers and such) and music. It is called 2020 solutions and will be going on from 3-6. They are pretty close to Kulshan Brewing so I think an afternoon stroll may be in order.

A friend got bailed on for a show tonight at Mt. Baker Theater. So I am going to watch Neko Case tonight. I don't really know any of her music but I am still excited to go see some live music! I potentially am going to be seeing a lot this weekend: Friday - Wild Throne @ The Shakedown Saturday - BOTSC, Lesbian, Grenades @ Columbia City Theater Sunday - Great Falls, Tacos!, Theories, Old Iron @ Chop Suey Taking full advantage of help with the baby from father in-law. Don't think I can stay for 4/20 though Burrito. Turns out that is the day he flies back to Baltimore

If any of you that liked SUMAC - The Deal were bummed that they sold out of that in a flash...get ready. At 9AM Sige Records is going to be putting the 2nd pressing pre-sale up. It most likely will sell out today if not this morning. They have a splatter option as well as classic black. www.facebook.com/SigeRecords

Went to a brewers night tonight in BHAM at The Copper Hog. Found out that Alpine Brewing (out of CA) was purchased by Green Flash Brewing (San Diego). They had a tap takeover between the two of them. Fantastic breweries for the hop heads. The non-hoppy beers were OK but if you are an IPA fan this would have been a boner fest for you. That is a good thing. Boners are great.

Tyler, the Creator - Cherry Bomb, 4/13 I'm actually very excited about this. Wolf was a real creeper for me that I found myself enjoying more and more with every listen, so I'm definitely excited to hear what he does next. I have a confession to make. I have never listened to Wolf. I purchased his first album because the performance he had on a late night show (Letterman?) was out of this world good. I listened to that vinyl a couple of times and ended up selling it. I couldn't stand what I was hearing after a while. I want to like him but I just flat out didn't after a while on that first album. Maybe I need to give Wolf a chance though. His praise must not be completely misplaced. Last time he was at Sasquatch (maybe it was the only time) I walked by his set and didn't stop for a second.

That all may be true but do they always have Torche opening for them?! That seems like a crazy good opener for the Chop. I have never actually heard anything from Melt Banana other than their most recent. Could you give me your recommendation for the next one to check out Mr. Burrito?
