Ahhh, Songs From the Capeman. It's a little uneven but damn if some of his best songs aren't on there. 'Adios Hermanos' gives me da chills every single fucking time. Thank you! I feel like this album never gets its due, probably because the play itself was universally hated. (full disclosure - I have never seen it). But man, Bernadette? Adios Hermanos? The Vampires? Right up there with the best off of his self titled, Still Crazy, Rhymin' Simon, and Graceland. As long as we're on the Paul Simon topic, I have listened to a couple tracks off of "So Beautiful or So What" and I really like them. Haven't heard it all the way through yet, but it's crazy that he's still pumping out the jams at, what, 70? The guy is amazing. What can I say.

oh yeah...
The reason they need access to your FB account is for your friends list. Because it's a social media vs music site, they will tell you when your friends are on turntable and in the lobby, it will tell you what room they are in and whether they are just listening or spinning.
This is particularly useful if your friends have just started a room that's just for your group of friends (for instance, my buddy just started one called "it's raul's world and you're just livin' in it"). often times a room such as this one will have so few people in it, it may not show up on the list of rooms in the "lobby." However, because we are all FB friends, it shows up at the top of the list.

OH> MY> GOD. I know I'm a relative newbie here too but gun to her head or not, amanda preaches the TRUTH! A friend sent me here about two weeks ago when it was still invite-only. Currently it is still in beta testing, and has a few bugs to work out, but it is an amazing new concept for sharing/playing/listening to music. I highly recommend checking it out. The Basic Idea is social media meets music. There are various rooms (which have music themes, i.e. indie chill/acoustic; progressive trance; 90's hip-hop; music that doesn't suck; nerd party, etc.). Within each room, there can be any number of people who are represented by avatars. there are 5 "turntables" in each room, on which 5 different people take turns spinning music. The library of music to choose from is VERY expansive, but the best part is you can upload YOUR OWN MUSIC from your computer and play it in the rooms. For instance, I have uploaded a few songs by my friend's band ( stilltimemusic.com sorry for the shameless plug) and played them in a room of 200 people. Not trying to sell anything, I just think this is 100% the future of music sharing and my favorite new way to learn about new music. Check it out! turntable.fm/lobby

I'm a little board illiterate here...
Can someone teach me how to post pictures (I have a bunch of good ones from this year that I want to post) or point me to a thread that discusses this?
Also... I want to make a signature at the bottom of my posts, but can't figure out how to do it... help?
Much appreciated

Saturday night: so all 6 people in my camp at Wildhorse are about to pack it in some time around 3:30am, and we see a bright orange light, in the shape of a vertical rectangle, slowly shoot across the sky. It took about a minute and a half total to go from one side of the field to the next. It looked to be about 200-300 feet off the ground. It made absolutely no noise. So as we sit there, completely dumbfounded by the fact that no one had a fucking camera, here it comes again, this time about 300-400 feet off the ground, and a bit further off into the distance. Our neighbors next to us were still up so I called to them to look in the sky. They were under their canopy and didn't bother to get up out of their chairs to heed to their crazy neighbors. One of them said, "I'll have some of what you're smoking!" and then muttered something amongst themselves along the lines of "Hmph. Funny way to meet the neighbors." I looked up, saw it continue toward the opposite horizon, and it abruptly disappeared into thin air. I know I wasn't imagining things. It was as clear as a bell that something was there. It was unidentified, and it was flying object. Never thought I'd see the day. I definitely saw those and tripped out for a while on them, but figured out what they were... do you want me to tell you or leave them a mystery?

Know your rights and exercise them.
Ensure all your headlights, tail lights and turn signals are in working order If Pulled over, be respectful, courteous, and compliant with the officer DO NOT give your consent to search the vehicle DO NOT have any contraband in plain sight, in fact, Keep all Contraband in a LOCKED glove compartment or trunk (a warrant is required to search Locked areas of your car)
Just be smart. as long as you're not drinking or blowing trees in the cop's face you'll be OK.

I know this is the wrong thread, but as long as we're talking about tasty American microbreweries, I would be remiss if I didn't mention my personal favorite - Deschutes Brewery out of Bend, OR. My fave is Mirror Pond (their pale ale) but other good ones are the Black butte Porter, Twilight (their summer seasonal) and Inversion IPA

Do you ever wonder why ice cubes taste so boring? it's because you make them out of stupid water you bimbo. put some fruit juice in there and freeze'em into ice cubes. put that in your milk.

Saw them in april in San Francisco... they opened for the Pains of being pure at heart and absolutely blew them out of the water.
They played "slow" the same way as in your video, with the slow beginning and then jump starting to the normal pace of the song.
Their live show definitely has more of a "rock" vibe to it than the album, which is especially evident in the more "dance-pop" songs like "when we're dancing" and "at my heels." The Live version of "Castles in the snow" was INCREDIBLE.
The only downside was that they rocked out the ballads like"love is a tyrant" and my favorite - "forget" a little too much. All in all a great live show that I suggest any fan - casual or hardcore to experience.
