I was at the record store yesterday and picked up a copy of Amon Tobin's ISAM on limited edition vinyl. Really enjoying it.

actually, that's an interesting game: "Yo, I have a ticket for weekend 1 but can't afford to actually go to coachella, so howz about we trade weekends and you pay for my trip?"
Jeezus. I sincerely hope the slimy scalper factor calms down about a month from now.

I was looking to see if the upcoming Chemical Brothers movie is going to show in Calgary anywhere or not, and so far haven't found anything that promising. Cineplex.com lists it on their "special events" list for Jan 26 (the "preview" screening date) in..... Toronto. That's it. It doesn't appear as an upcoming movie on any of the sites I usually browse for such information. And the movie's own site doesn't even list Canada as one of the countries where the film will be screened during it's normal "run" in February. This makes me sad panda. That is a huge bummer. I figured as much when I read that it was only playing in like 25 cities. I'm sure it will be great to see once they release it on dvd...but it would have been an amazing experience to see it in theatres Well it's actually showing on 25 ish screens for the preview (Toronto is one) and about 500 cities for the "regular" run (of which, there are 0 in Canada). Still disappointing.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR PRIMUS TO PLAY FOUR SETS BECAUSE PRIMUS IS PLAYING ANOTHER FESTIVAL THE SAME WEEKEND. WHAT, DO YOU THINK THEY ARE DJ ANJALI OR SOMETHING? She didn't do it all by herself. She had the Incredible Kid to help her out, yo.

I'm with you dude. Sasha plays my favorite style of dance music. Paul Van Dyke's set was right up there with his. Unfortunately your two choices this year are fist-pumping house and robot dinosaur sounds. I'm probably most excited for Morgan Page since I've never managed to see him before. I suspect it will be a reasonably sexy afternoon dance party in the Sahara.

So if Primus did in fact play 4 sets, would you see them all?

I haven't started making a list yet, but a quick scan over the list and I'm willing to bet I'll be in the 40-50 act range for "must sees". Going to be a hell of a mess.
I'm really hoping that SHM plays opposite the Black Keys and either David Guetta or Kaskade plays opposite Radiohead. That will chop the crowd up a bit, and mean I'll have an easier time seeing what i want to see (SHM and Radiohead).

Not next week, please noooooooooo. Not that I take pleasure in other people's pain, but damn it, I sure do. The year the lineup was delayed by two or three weeks (maybe a headliner dropped out late as some speculated) was such a happy time. I feel like we already have a good idea of who will be on the lineup, so I'm not sure why everyone is so freaked out about it being official. 54% will be heavily rumored bands. 22% will be bands you've never heard of. 12% will be bands you've already seen live. 9% will be bands you hate. 3% will be a big surprise. That 3% will be fun, but people suffering through the wait will be much more fun. Since I've already bought my ticket, I'm actually not that wound up about the lineup. If I hadn't bought yet and was waiting for the line-up to buy a ticket, then it would be much more agonizing.

Lockerchella is meow on sale. Www.lockersonline.comIf you're not camping or get stuck in a camping site far away from the entrance, these are amazing. You don't have to lug around your backpack or change of clothes/merch. They will sell out. Thanks for the heads up Shax. Bought mine (I'm not camping).

I need to get my gay friends to start saying that. Maybe they do but just not around us straight folk. There are lots of things we don't say around straight folk. There are just as many things we say around straight folk that don't mean what you think they mean.

I've learned recently, however, that it has become synonymous with "Fabulous" in the gay community. I would consider myself somewhat of an authority on this, and that might be true in some circles, but not the ones I hang in.
