Goal of the fucking year right there. Too bad it had to be against us haha.
That game was 80 minutes of the Sounders looking like pure shit, 3 minutes of the Sounders looking like all-stars, 1 split second goal of the year from the Whitecaps, and an end result that wasn't quite what I hoped for, but all around the most electric 10 last minutes of a match I've ever experienced.
Hope the Seattle fans treated you well, Abominable. I made a point to greet and welcome any Whitecaps fans I ran into inside the stadium. There was definitely some heckling though that made me embarrassed for my country. Go figure...
What a goal! Was super choked at the two quick goals we conceded, but Hassli more than made up for it in the end.
We went to this Mexican place called Rositas before the game - they were free pouring margaritas with I'm guessing three shots of tequila each. A few of those had me walking into the stadium with a perma-grin on my face.
The whole experience was amazing, the staff and fans at QWest were great, especially in putting up with a bunch of drunk Vancouverites. Hope you can make it up here for your away match and that you are treated the same way we all were!
Oh, and after Saturday I am seriously considering making the trip to Portland in August.
Your team is SO close to being amazing. All of those draws are just aggrevating. I really hope you guys start pulling out some more wins in the second half of the season because I really do want them to do well.
That's really nice of you Pea, it's good to hear you root for the other NW teams, when some might hate the rivals within close proximity. Go Timbers.
That is really nice. I also agree that our record isn't very indicative of the way we have played so far. A little more finish up front or a little tighter marking at the back and we'd have a couple more wins. We've also had some bad luck with players (Hassli) getting sent off on cheap yellows or soft reds.

Yeah, I don't have high hopes for a result. A draw would be unreal for us. Just happy Hassli will be back from his most recent suspension - he has a ton of skill and plays hard. We're a different team when he isn't in the lineup.

We're invading Qwest tomorrow night. Taking a Greyhound down with the rest of The Southsiders (Whitecaps support group). Should be quite the drunken trip. Hoping that everyone is in good spirits and there are no clashes. The Sounders front office is taking a ton of precautions. Can't wait!
I was just sitting at my camp ground in a about 5 other people drinking my second beer of the day and the cops walked through our camp ground. We were pretty far away too, up top by the cows. The cop said he didn't see the weed until I moved it to the ground.
Sounds like you got hosed royally. He didn't actually find it on you and it wasn't even yours. Sucks about the legal troubles, but I imagine it will get thrown out in court.
Went through the weekend relatively unscathed fortunately. Met a couple people in pretty rough shape, including a girl who had an infection in a finger joint. She had to pay for an ambulance to the hospital and then hitchhike back.
Yeah, totally kidding of course. I have to say though, I'd almost consider bringing a toddler to Sasquatch over an impressionable 'tween' who knows a bit about the rampant drug use going on around him/her.
On Thursday when we first got in we were ready with a battle plan to get enough space for our tents and canopy. We had like three extra tents to set up for people coming later. Surprisingly, it was not all that difficult to get a nice amount of space....
Seriously. After the can of sardines they had us camp in last year, we had the same plan heading in: park, divide and conquer as much camping space as we could. One of the best surprises was that they weren't doubling up the rows with cars on either side.
Foo Fighters were fucking great! But you know who did suck? The asshole parents who had a problem with Cat and I sitting behind them during their set. No lie, this small group of douchebags were all up in a roar cuz we found a small piece of real estate behind them on one of those pieces of rock just above the pit - ya know what i'm talking about? - they were on the grass and we were sitting on the rock wall like 6 feet behind and 5 feet above them. (for the record, they had a couple giant blankets laid out - and well more than enough room to accommodate their retarded group)
they were like, 'don't sit there. we've been here since 4:30! we may want to lean back and sit up there later.' i was like, 'dude. you don't own this entire quarry. we're not even in your way. chill out.' and some other fuckstick was like, 'you should probably leave. he's bigger than you.' and i was like, 'i don't give a fuck how big he is. all i'm doing is sitting on a rock. you need to calm the fuck down.' and these two geriatrics got involved, 'you're being really annoying right now.' and i was like, 'me? i'm not doing anything but trying to mind my own business? who the fuck are you? shut up. this has nothing to do with you.' They quickly shut up.
once the small group realized we weren't going anywhere, they changed their tone. 'we just don't want you kicking our kids in the back of the head with your legs.' (they had like 2 tween girls who really didn't even give a shit that Foo Fighters were even about to play)
to which i replied, 'seriously? you think i'm going to kick a child? in the back of the head? who does that? how bout you turn around and watch the show. you won't even notice we're here. It's totally cool. I promise not to kick your kids.'
it was around that time Cat and the mother got into a heated discussion about parenting skills. The woman had been smoking and exhaling all over her kids, yet she was all concerned about Cat and I interfering with their children.
Cat quickly put that bitch in check. Don't fuck with a redhead, folks. they's feisty!
They pretty much left us alone after that.
What fucking fuckheads.
That was you?! Thanks buddy, last time my wife ever lets me spend our family vacation money going to a music festival!
