I have premier camping but if I get there around 9am, is that a bad idea?

I gots a question.
If I show up Saturday morning around 9am, will I be screwed from getting a spot in the premier camping area? I'm thinking of staying Seattle all day Friday.

I would have something for everyone by Monday. I'm also pumped to see the Suckers. If you haven't listed to them... give them a spin. Again... here's a daytrotter session. (Yeah... I love this site!) www.daytrotter.com/dt/suckers-concert/20030842-3738156.htmlThey're another Brooklyn Band that was co-produced by Yeasayer's Anand Wilder. I have a feeling they're going to be blowing up shortly.

Speaking of Fleet Foxes does anyone have a clue what's happened to them? They were on the rise and then it seems that they have dropped off the map! They kicked at Sasquatch 2008! Patiently waiting for a follow up! The last couple of years, they toured their asses off. So they decided to take a little break to work on a new album plus a couple of the guys are doing some side projects. We should see them touring again late 2010 - early 2011

Here's some useful info (FYI - I'm not being a smartass): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_NativesThey have only one lp right now but have a pretty decent buzz band. I'm actually seeing them this Friday in Chicago, so I'll be able to tell you more about them later this weekend. That said, I love their album (I would give it 4 out of 5 stars) and hear their live shows are tits.

Another note on port-a-potties: they stink. The folks at the Gorge do a pretty good job looking after them, but even so, camping nearby to shorten the walk between is a rookie mistake. You only make that one once. PS. It can get really windy there, which will increase the stench radius. I second this statement. It's not pretty if you're too close. If they try to put you by a group of them, make a big deal out of it or bribe them or lie to them... do something to ensure you're not sleeping there for 3-4 nights. You won't regret it.

Realistically - Saturday: Nurses -> P. The Man -> Edward Sharpe -> BSS (Entire Set) -> Miike Snow -> The Hold Steady -> VM (even though I'm not happy about it but I want to be closer for MMJ) -> MMJ -> Deadmau5 In a perfect world I would love to also see Minus the bear, Why? and the Very Best Saturday may be the best musical day of my life. I'm so pumped! For those who have never listened to the nurses, here's a couple good sets from daytrotter: www.daytrotter.com/dt/nurses-concert/20031085-110981.htmlwww.daytrotter.com/dt/nurses-concert/20030183-110981.htmlI love daytrotter's write up on these guys. Realistically - Sunday: Caribou -> Local Natives (I'm seeing these guys w/ the suckers this friday... pretty pumped) -> Jets Overhead -> Cymbals Eats Guitars (One of the best shows I've seen this year) -> Freelance Whales -> LCD -> Dirty Projectors -> Pavement -> Massive Attack. Perfect world -> I've seen Avi Buffalo open for Japandroids and I was less than impressed but I really like their album and would like to give them another chance. Yacht, midlake and Fruit Bats. Realistically and perfect world - Monday: Shadow Shadow Shade -> Seattle Rock Orch -> Drive-by Truckers (saw them in a double bill w/ the hold steady a couple year back... one word.. AMAZING!!) -> Dr. Dog -> Japandriods -> Couple Songs of The Mountain Goats -> 1/2 set BoH -> Camera Obscura -> The New Pornos -> Neon Indian (Saw them live this year and I was very, very impressed!) -> Ween!!! Wow... that's a lot of music... great headliners.... Sasquatch did a great job of spreading our the lineup in their schedule. This just reaffirms my decision to drop some cash on this festival!!!

Thanks, Peatrick. Awesome pictures... this is just getting more excited for experiencing the gorge for the first time.
That said, I guess I'm looking for a aerial view or something to see how far the main stage is from bigfoot or bigfoot from yeti. I think this was mentioned but I can't remember were I saw it but how long does it take to get from each stage to another?
Thanks for any assistance!!

Sorry if this question has been asked and answered but I couldn't find it on this board or google.
Does anyone have a picture of some sort on the lay out of the stages? It will help me set my plan of attack.
Thanks, Mazdawg

I've seen the national and hold steady a bunch of times. Both are good. If you're looking to chill - the national's your band. If you looking to jump up an down, rock out and have the best time of your life - the hold steady's your band!
I plan on catching some of the Miike Snow show and The Hold Steady after Broken Social Scene.

Great thread you started here peatrick!! It's nice to talk to others, like you guys, about music. My friends, while still asking my opinion on bands, tend to refer to me as the "music snob". It's a term that i despise since it makes people like us seem like assholes when all we really want to do is share our passion and love for "good" music with others. Thanks again! I think that it would be cool if there was a way that we could all meet after one of the days and discuss our daily Sasquatch experiences in person! That might be a huge undertaking though...so the forum works just as well. I was just referred as a "music snob" a couple of days ago. Right after that statement I asked this person what type of music that would be considered "new" she liked. She mentioned MGMT. I then asked her if she heard the new album (which I not a fan of but didn't voice that). She hasn't listened to it yet and directed her to their web site. I then referred her to Passion Pit and Hot Chip as in my opinion are very similar. Long story short... she came to me yesterday thanking me for the suggestions. Music snob, huh? Not so much. I kind of like the music enthusiast tag. I love my hobby and can't wait to experience it live at the Gorge for the first time this year. Cheers to all on this board and I hope to share a beer or two with one of you!!

Sorry peatrick, I wasn't attempting to be a smartass. If I offended you, please accept my apology. That wasn't my intention. My intention was to agree with you that we are indeed the minority.
