I have decided, after much internal debate, that I am going to be a lazy bastard and just stick to the main stage all 3 days (also because it's a very very solid lineup on that stage). So this means I will be seeing 27 great bands/artists for under $200. Not bad. How about you guys?

Ah yes, I forgot about Deadmau5 and Booka Shade. Make that 29. Even better.

i have 26 highlighted on my schedule to see. saturday is all over the place with bands at every stage, sunday mostly at the main stage except for tallest man on earth and the xx, and monday is literally all day at the main stage. i had originally planned to see public enemy on sunday but their set runs into massive attack's, which i don't want to miss a minute of.
i think they're doing a good thing taking bands that could easily play the main stage and putting some of them on the bigfoot stage later in the evening. gives people an opportunity to walk around to get between stages instead of standing in the same place all day. i remember in 2008 i was at the main stage all day, every day.
sat: minus the bear - garfunkel and oates - edward sharpe - BSS - WHY? - the hold steady - vampire weekend - MMJ - deadmau5
sun: caribou - tallest man on earth - TMBG - kid cudi - the xx - LCD - pavement - massive attack
mon: the heavy - temper trap - drive by truckers - passion pit - she & him - band of horses - mgmt - ween

I've done that before. Sometimes you can't help it; they just stack amazing shit all in a row. (2008, for example: Fleet Foxes, Beirut, Fleet Foxes because the National didn't come, New Pornos, MIA, Modest Mouse, REM. Amazing.)
One of my best friends who will be joining me again this year at the festival has an approach that involves seeing everyone. She winds up seeing them all for like 5 minutes, of course.
But I am pretty stubborn about seeing entire sets. Unless a band is god-awful, once I've decided that I want to see them, I am committed to hearing/seeing everything they have to offer. Haven't set up my schedule for this year yet, though.

yeah that day in 08 was the best single day i've seen so far. getting a second helping of fleet foxes instead of the national (who i can't get into) was a welcome change. REM was so good they gave me chills down my spine.

Wow, that sounds crazy. So did Fleet Foxes end up doing some cover songs? I would imagine they didn't have much material back in 2008 but then again I'm not too familiar with their history...

Nevermind, I just looked it up and saw they already had a couple EPs. Pardon my stupidity.

I want to start a "All-Time Best Festival Day" topic later, or someone else can because I'll forget.
The past two Sasquatches, I've seen ~25 bands. I tend to have one or two time slots open every day for flexibility, so I don't have the exact number for this year, but 25-27 is a good estimate. For reference, that means that using the equation to determine value with ticket price as a constant where bands times venue divided by length of show equals cost,
$(Shabazz Palaces + Minus The Bear + Portugal. The Man + Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes + Broken Social Scene + The National + Vampire Weekend + My Morning Jacket + Deadmau5 + Caribou + Local Natives + Tallest Man On Earth + Cymbals Eat Guitars + The XX + LCD Soundsystem + Pavement + Public Enemy + The Heavy + Mayer Hawthorne + Phantogram + Drive-By Truckers + Passion Pit + Japandroids + Mountain Goats + Band of Horses + MGMT + Neon Indian + Ween + Whatever Else I See)(Gorge)/36 Hours
=
$(Jonas Brothers)(PNC Bank Art Center)/Three Hours
I hate my sister.

I have to agree with that 2008 day being the best, except for the day with the rodrigo y gabriela, flight of the conchords, flaming lips, etc. I stayed in the pit all the way from dyme def til the lips, and almost died because I decided not to bring any food or water.
I think 22 bands is a good estimate for me. 187 dollars + 50 for gas/camping(cheeap) + 25 souvenir + maybe 120 dollars on booze & ganja = 382 dollars/22=17.36 per show. Thats what i usually spend, and that's even trying to keep it to a minimum. but still a bargain..

That's nothing. When I was 16 and my sister was 13, my Dad absolutely refused to chaperone her to a concert, and threatened immediate withdrawal of my driving privileges if I did not take her to the concert and look after her. Where did that experience leave me? I can almost guarantee that I am the only person on this board who has seen the Baha Men.

About as many as possible. There doesn't seem to be a time where a band I want to see isn't playing. Need to set out my priorities though.

I can almost guarantee that I am the only person on this board who has seen the Baha Men. Who let the dogs out? I did... when I was about 12 myself... That show was poopin, hahahaha It would have only been better if Lou Vega would have shown up like he was supposed to.

I just highlighted 40 artists that I'm going to try and catch over the weekend. About 10 of them I will either have to split the sets in half or suck it up and miss some of them. I still have no clue what to do about my Band of Horses/Camera Obscura conflict. Those were two of the bands I was looking forward to most.

Yeah, I hear ya on that one peatrick. I guess that's the double-edged sword with festivals. They're a great value and a ton of great bands but inevitably it results in a bit of disappointment because there's always conflicts. I wish that some of the bigger bands played earlier to help alleviate that but I guess it just doesn't work that way.

I'm somewhere between 25 and 30 right now. I'm trying to cut down on splitting sets so it will be closer to 25. I just have to spend the next few weeks debating between Band of Horses and Camera Obscura (probably go with Obscura because I'm going to be at Bigfoot for the New Pornographers) and the conflict of Japandroids and Dr. Dog, which is giving me the biggest headache right now. But 25 seems very reasonable to me.

Sat. - MMJ, The National, BSS, Portugal, The Man, Mumford and Sons Sun. - Booka Shade, Massive Attack, Pavement, LCD, They Might Be Giants, Local Natives, Caribou Man. - Ween, Band of Horses, Passion Pit, Drive By Truckers, The Heavy
I will also be seeing VW and MGMT due to wanting spots for MMJ and Ween, but I'll choose to not count them cuz I hate them.
