I can't stand Vampire Weekend but I watched them to get a good spot for MMJ and I was pretty impressed with how the crowd was into it. I still don't like them especially since that was like the fifth time I've seen them (my wife drags me to them) but I'm always happy to see other people so happy. I even danced with them to join in the fun!
That said, I'm still bummed I did watch any of the Nada Surf set though.

did none of you see Ween? Yes they were good, real good! But so were 30 or 40 other bands. Bravo, Sasquatch!

First, I want to thank God. No seriously, I think I said "OH MY GOD", "Thank you God", "Fucking 'A' God", or just "God" at least 1000 times throughout the weekend. I've never listened/watched music in a more beautiful place and around every corner there was just another amazing view!
Second, I want to thank everyone on this board for all the suggestions, guidance and overall banter. Hanging out in this forum really assisted in enhancing my overall experience. I was ready for everything and anything... so thanks again!!
Finally, I want to thank Sasquatch! and the Gorge. Thank you Sasquatch! for putting together the best line up I've ever witnessed (IMO, of course) and even a better schedule. The layout of the land (stages) was perfect. No more than a 5 minute walk to listen to another band! Come on that's fucking awesome! Also thank you Gorge!! A. For being absolutely gorgeous!, B. to the person or people that decided to build this place.... Brilliant!, C. for nice camping facilities, D. for having enough and clean Honey Buckets (I love that they're called honey buckets), E. for allowing us to bring in our own food because the shit you serve isn't really edible and F. for not checking bags thoroughly.
The Gorge is hands down the best place to hold a festival. I've been to Bonnaroo, ACL, Monolith (Red Rocks), Pitchfork, and Lollapalooza and none of these places can hold the jock strap to the Gorge. I've been to many, many festivals in my life and this one really took the cake.
Oh, I almost forgot. I want to thank the people who waited in line to use a honey bucket. Your sacrifices allowed me to get in and out without waiting more than 2 minutes. Was anyone else wondering why these people were waiting in these fake lines? It really confused me all weekend and I think at one point I started yelling at a bunch of random people. Just to motivate them of course. HA!!

Yes Yes Yes... I'm very sad and let me tell you why?
I'm actually a Blackhawks Season Ticket holder and guess what? I have tickets to all the Stanley Cup games. Talk about bad timing... oh well!!! I'm still looking forward to having fun at the gorge. I just hope I can get updates of some sort.

Because every band I am seeing that day kicks ass! Mumford, Portugal, Brad, Edward Sharpe, The Hold Steady, The National, MMJ and Deadmau5...FUCK YEAH! Plus I love the first day because your adrenaline is up and coming down the hill from the gate and seeing the Gorge is an amazing experience. Takes your breath away! Yeah I'm going to have to go Saturday for similar reasons... In addition to BSS, and hopefully some Middle East, amazing stacked day... Although Caribou and Massive Attack alone make Sunday a close second! Don't forget Nurses and Miike Snow... Saturday Rules!!

I sent them an email about a week ago asking about this BUT they didn't reply. Not too surprised they didn't respond as I'm sure they get 1000 emails a day.

OK people... here's my review. Let me give you a little background on mazdawg first. I'm the type of music junkie that rarely knows names of song or even the albums. This even occurs with my all time favorite bands like radiohead, phish and MMJ. I listen to everything and I like what I like. If I don't like it, I don't really bash it because to each it own... you know what I mean? That said, don't expect the names of songs or anything like that. I'll mostly describe how the music makes me feel. Funny side bar - there were two show scheduled at this bar called Schubas in Chicago that pretty much sold out immediately. I highly recommend seeing a show here if you're ever have a chance. Great little venue and it's one of the many hidden gems in the city. Now to the funny part. I actually traded my late show tickets (10:30) for early tickets (7:00) because I took my nephews to a pet parade and had to wake up early. Yeah, I'm old!! I was home by 10:30 and sleeping by 11:00. Ok... sorry for dragging this out. So the opener for Local Natives came out. They call themselves Suckers and they come from the great music empire.... Brooklyn, New York. They played 5 songs from their current EP and one or two from the up coming debut LP. All I got to say is that I was thoroughly impressed with them because: 1. They were the opening act. It's always hard to be the opening act especially at 7pm on a Friday but they went up on stage on a mission and brought the same energy as if they were playing in front of a packed house as the headliner. 2. For a newer band, they were tight has hell. 3. Their lead singer has amazing range and equally amazing control of it. I highly recommend seeing this guys if you can and start listening to some of their shit because I have a feeling 2011 is going to be the year of the Suckers. Their music is very upbeat and just makes you want to move (they actually have a song called "it gets your body moving"). To me, that's important. Now to about Local Natives. (Disclaimer.... the band I'm about to compare them too is a band that I actually like and I feel without their influence on music, music would be the same today) So without further ado, to me local natives sound a lot like a 2010 four seasons that play a whole shit ton of instruments. When they harmonize, it almost puts you in a trance and each member really complements each other well. They also switch instruments alot which keeps each song fresh and different while showing how musically talented they are. You can truly see that they love what they're doing at that specific moment and really can't believe it's happening. This, in my opinion, is special to see and it's a key ingredient for a band that is in a higher tier of talent. Bands come a dime a dozen now a days but these guys have what it takes to sustain something for the foreseeable future. Another cool experience yesterday was the fact that a lot of the audience didn't really know what they got themselves into. After each song, the audience got more and more into it which in turn pumped up the band and it was evident that they put more energy into each song. They played a killer talking heads song - warning sign and informed everyone that they just met David Byrne. Here's a KEXP you tube version of it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDF6BQzWfG0So after all of the gibberish typed above, I highly recommend seeing these gentleman at Sasquatch! on Sunday. They will likely be one of the top acts of the weekend especially since they are only playing for 45 minutes. Just be ready to dance because it's hard not to move around when they're playing their ass off.

Great to hear but will I still have a spot in the premier area or will they put me in the general area. The only reason I even care is because I'm old and will need some sleep to make it all 3 days.
Thanks everyone!!
