We're going to have to do this for a couple people this year too. Last year we tried to do it and they just crammed us in so tight we didn't have room for it. This year we plan to have one of the girls driving the 30 foot RV, and we're just gonna tell them to point us away from the crowd a bit because we're not used to driving a big vehicle. Sexist stereotypes save the day... With that being said, I know I'd have problems driving a 30ft long RV.

Shuttles, showers, and no waiting in line to get into the fest usually. Longest line is about 10 minutes at most. If you go in a shuttle you miss the line party. Yeah but you have more time for... well everything else.

Someone tell me again why you'd want to pay for premiere...? I never even considered it until like the eighth time in a row I heard 'Pon De Floor' last year, and then only for a half a second. Shuttles, showers, and no waiting in line to get into the fest usually. Longest line is about 10 minutes at most.

Do they have that spiffy setlist scheduler, they've had for the last few years?

Not the first note, the first drop. Well now you're just talking 20-some lingo. You know I'm over 30 right? Please explain "drop." The first crescendo

I'm not buying glowsticks, but as long as there isn't a conflict, I'll position myself to get a good recording of the explosion. Not gonna lie there's a fair chance I'll still be at Death Cab if Ben and the gang are still playing. I've reserved myself to the fact that this may be a guarantee miss of the beginnings of Bassnectar, and by proxy the throwing of the sticks.

With that hat you could very easily hide a driver up in the crown - I imagine you'd have plenty of room up by the eyes. The 3V driver I have is quite small. Essentially, take 2 AA batteries, and add about 25% in all directions (including length). You'd have to take the hat off to turn it on or off but that's no big deal. And as for doing EL wiring of your own, it's not that complicated if you know how to solder and have the appropriate stuff already (iron, heatshrink, heat gun, etc). If you're lazy and / or incompetent when it comes to soldering, just figure out how much wire you need and order it with connectors pre-soldered. The place I bought from (elwirepros.com) will do this relatively cheaply. If you do that, it's literally plug-and-play. They also sell complete kits where you get the driver, wire, etc. with connectors and everything soldered and ready to go for a slight discount. Pretty much every other elwire place online will solder connectors before they ship the wire to you as well, not just the place I ordered from. Prices do vary though. Edit: Here's a picture of the driver I'm talking about. Those are AA batteries in the photo. Wow, I feel really silly, I was looking at those too... I guess I have some work after Sas really getting this design down right. I like www.thatscoolwire.com they'll do the soldering for under $6 which, (because I'm not competent enough, yet,) isn't the worst charge for the "plug and play."

Not gonna lie, but I do tend to toss artists like Deadmau5 and even Daft Punk into the, "what the hell is going to make me pay an obscene amount of money to see you stand a press buttons," category, but at least with Deadmau5 and Daft Punk you get a show like nothing else. Yeah it takes an artistic ear and talent to produce music, but when we go to shows we're not paying for a producer, we pay for performers, with that being said, I want a fucking performance. Deadmau5 and Daft give you an indelible performance this much can't really be argued, there are a lot of elements that go into their shows and as such I can, without hesitation, consider them artists, despite standing around, pressing buttons, and shaking your arms ocassionally. Bassnectar is hit and miss for me, it's a show, but not always a good one. Dj'n is more than pre-made samples, it's for this reason I still get blown away by Greg Gillis, (Girl Talk,) because though his shows will often imitate the CD he's definitely adlibbing a bunch too. I've seen Skillex and other commercially acclaimed EDM artists and they are great one time shows, but after I've seen them I've never had a desire to pay strictly for them. This I would agree with. I actually was agreeing with you the first time too. I still wanna dance my shut off either way though. I felt like you were, just like Shaxspear for some reason I had gotten into too many Skrillex EDM artists, type conversations lately. It's been quite amusing, especially since one of them was with my boss. The man is like 60 some years odd and has been working on NPR and Jazz radio for the better part of 45 years. It was odd fodder for conversation to say the least.

Between the gummy skulls, the RSD box sets and the seemingly endless slate of new releases set for the coming year, I bet the Flaming Lips are hauling in a ton of capital. Maybe (hopefully) that means they are gearing up for a change in their decade-old stage show? Throughout the 90's the Lips had something different going on every time they'd hit the road, but with the exception of the addition of a couple new bells, whistles and toys things have been pretty much the same since the Soft Bulletin tour. Maybe Wayne is finally becoming conscious of the need for change. Certainly his fans are. Absolutely. They put quite a bit of their profit back into stage equipment, lights, etc. I'm sure they have something special in store for us next month. Regardless of what they do/don't have, I'm popping my Flaming Lips cherry, so I'm sure I'll love it all.

Anyone flying in need to borrow tents/air mattresses/sleeping bags? Since I am an avid Coachellan and "adopted" so many people from the message board there to our camping area I compiled about 12 extra tents that I got off of Craigslist in Portland cheap and loaned them to people that had to fly in for the fest so they did not have to buy this stuff just for the weekend. I have 1 person, 2 persons and a couple larger 5 or 6 person tents and I would be happy to do the same for people for Sasquatch:-) So...if you are flying in and do not want to deal with a tent or sleeping bag private message me and maybe we can meet up and loan you some! We live right along the way if you are going from Portland, right on the river across from Biggs where you cross over to WA, or we will be there fairly early on Friday morning and could meet you. Just thought I would throw that out there since I have a mountain of tents and air mattresses to put away from the Coachella adventure this year:-) No charge...just Sasquatch good will! Must give you a drink, and a hug!

What? No, this is stupid. There's been far worst ideas out there, and there's been far outlandish happenings. Stupid to a few, hopeful wishings if nothing else for many.

And as for taking the hat off and on easily, it's not as bad as you think depending on how you do your connections. For my hat, the hat itself has almost no lead wire (maybe 4"), and a connector. I then have a M-F 4' lead wire that I can detach from the hat if I want to take it off without removing everything else. It's not as nice a something self-contained would be, but it works. Still, once my hat is on, I don't take it off until I'm good and danced out. That's what I thought, and primarily how I roll, but my partner on the other hand is so fidigty at times she would be wanting to take off her hat, I couldn't figure out an immediate way to do it for the helmet or her Yoshi one, so we're just going to intall a few LED's throughout. She love's the mofuggin hula hoop, so she's bouncing around too much for a free wire. One day I'll figure out a solid way to power up the head gear SAFELY. My costume usually changes throughout the day, slowly adding on pieces into the night , and once it's all together, it's all together until I go to sleep, so I know I'm never taking anything off, which makes it easier, but we can't all be as easy I guess.

No worries, I always imagined with the Deadmau5 helmets they were placed somewhere in the helmet, but on hats, and such I could never figure it out without running a wire down to the body, in which case it would make it hard to take the hat on and off... Such was the problem we were having with her hat.

It wasn't how to power it as much as where do you put the inverter/ battery pack you use?

Hey J-Dawg, not to pry for propeitary information, but how/ where is your power source for the lights on your hat. My lady wanted to rig up a hat type thing, but we were getting stumped on where to put the power source.

Hell I'll settle for Sam Beam playing Such Great Heights. But bring Jenny Lewis out, there can never be to much Jenny Lewis... She can stand in the back and nod I don't care...
Editor's note: I think it has to be said I've had a crush on Jenny Lewis as far back as I can remember, so I'm extremely biased here.
