hate me all you want for this... but I think I'm more excited in seeing Yeasayer play 2080 live than I am seeing the The Flaming Lips play just about any of their songs... not named She Don't Use Jelly. Right there with you, I feel like I said it before but, The Lips = Fucking Good, to me Gayngs + Yeasayer= Fucking Amazing.

I've seen Yeasayer twice (well, thrice, but I don't really count their early afternoon sasquatch set) and it was like night and day. The first time was soon after their first album blew up on Pitchfork and I didn't think the show was anything special. The second time was a couple years later and it became obvious right away that they were much more polished live musicians. They did things to deviate from the album that worked extremely well, and I left amazed that it was the same band I had seen previously. I feel ya. I first saw them play a little tour with MGMT in Jan 07 and luckily I only paid $10 or so, so I wasn't upset by being cheated, but flash forward almost two years to November 08' and they were incredible.

Eh, I bet the All Hour Cymbals tunes will be played in the style of Odd Blood anyway. This hasn't ever been the case before, so I wouldn't expect it to change now.

Looking at Yeasayer's recent setlists, the only songs they are playing currently that I care about at all are "2080", "Wait for the Summer" and "Tightrope", and it looks like they load those all into the first half of their set. It's too bad because I really love those songs, but since they'll probably be played during the Flaming Lips' set I can now skip Yeasayer entirely. That's fair, but I can't take standard setlists completely seriously for festival shows. Festivals tend to bring out the songs the bands want to play just as much as the crowd wants to hear. Am I going to hear Red Cave? Probably not, but it would make the entire conflict worth it. Hell 2080 would as well.

I will say that if you just discovered them this year, then they're earlier stuff live is gonna surprise you in a good way. I don't think we're gonna need to kick and shove to get good spots for Modest Mouse.

that's pretty much how that shit is gonna work. "Pea you remember yeas, and i'll remember ayer, k?" "Hey fox...that furry man just rolled over our heads with a giant hampster ball. What were we supposed to do after that?" "I forget, but I bet that rainbow striped unicorn over there can help us remember." When you see this that equals, this... the koala plays bass.

As long as a small part of my brain still knows how to communicate with the rest of my body, I plan on catching the rest of Yeasayer after The Lips are finished. I definitely was hoping to catch a whole set of theirs though Well you stand close to Fox and hopefully the two of you can remember to sprint to Yeasayer.

Why has no one even mentioned Yeasayer yet? Well maybe they are going up against The Flips, and FlyLo, but still Yeasayer live has always been an amazing show.
It's all in the first album for me, but the second one does still grow on you.

It's cool, I appreciate it though, if I have the time after my suits, I may put one together myself. It's been awhile but I remember the basics at least.

Again I must inquire if you know where to pick one of these up? I've been looking and can't really find anything durable.

Here are two cool pictures of our friend Michelle hooping. The slow shutter speed makes them look really rad. Uhm, where'd y'all get this hoop? There will be a group of these girls with us and they will all be hooping for Bassnectar!

Thanks HG, sincerely. I feel like Sas will work out how it's supposed to for everyone. It always has for those who I know, so I'm not too worried.

There was no intent on making anyone feel shameful, at least not on my part, and as Davers tried to rectify the situation originally, I feel like there wasn't any malicious intent in his comments either; however there was a seemingly immediate need to correct this person on a comment they made, (at least by some) instead of voicing why it was wrong first. If there's a problem with a comment it's fine to state what the problem is, just as you would hopefully do in an actual social setting, instead of immediately generalizing a statement and assuming that's enough to understand a person's level of intellect or ignorance on the subject.

Dudes, ain't no one setting a charter or law. Why is it we can all say the dumbest ignorant shit imaginable, but when some one says different to it you're all like "It's the internet, move on, sensitive". You move on and carry on with your ignorance, the internet police won't be hunting you down (just you're conscience). My guess is y'all are bent out of shape cuz deep down... Not everyone is saying, "move on," but it's a fair suggestion. The majority of people who post regularly or have posted regularly, I'm assuming have come to look at these boards as a friendly environment, or at least one that mimics what they would search out within their own social circles. As is the case amongst your own "IRL" friends, I'm sure we've all made numerous comments that can be considered to marginalize one group or another; do you get in uproars or feel a need to constantly correct yourself in those situations too? From as much as I've gathered from this board, and other social media outlets, the understanding of social construction and the imperfection of anglo dominated patriarchal society as shown in these discussions hasn't stemmed much further than text readings, (unless you're a woman or a homosexual, in which case you have to deal with it everyday regardless of an academic insight you may have.) My point being as a person of ethnicity there's been things I've read on this board throughout the last two years I've been following along that I've been utterly repulsed by; generally I'm taken to that level when it's not a comment underlined by comedic intent. Just because it's a joke doesn't make it right, but goddamn, would you jump down your friends throat all the time? Especially when there was enough thought taken into consideration to try and rectify the situation prior to any heated responses?

I was just saying, when someone says something like that on the other websites I go to, they just get called an idiot and everyone else moves on. There are idiots on the internet, there's no reason to get offended by what some random idiot on the internet says. Just ignore the idiot, and move on. Otherwise, we get into these kind of arguments that won't go anywhere. I got to agree with this. There's many things I've found to be offensive even if only marginally that have been said by numerous board members, but I think the important thing to keep in mind is that it's the FUCKING internet. There is no law for enforcing sensibility, and there is no charter demanding courtesy.

They're opening for The Black Keys here, and I'm not happy about it. I've seen them twice and didn't like them at all either time. The Black Keys are still the whale that got away from me this year. :/ Have a blast, Cage the Elephant, despite there one and half decent songs is worth it, I'd have to imagine.
