Do people really "find eachother at the festival" and fight (this sounds like a Nickleback Fest) ? Listen I've been reading this board for a while and interstateeight ya need to lighten up, it is a little embarassing to this board. People can have terrible taste in music, it's okay. It doesn't look okay when you see playground threats and lame name calling. Do I want the Chillis's to headline? Not at all, but I'm not disturbed by someone asking for it. So cool it, and you can start by just leaving things be, try not to post back to this. Also I have to say the Pavement crack was pretty funny, as a long time fan I totally have reservation about why they are back now and should I be excited.

What a set that was - between the warm rain, full on horn section, kirk Hammet, Badu and Womack covers, 4 hrs of music and 8 new tunes (and if you dig Zach Gafalnackis he was there too). That was sweet, then Disco Biscuits 'till dawn:)

Sorry to deviate, but regardless of weather the lineup is good or bad, the organizers sure did an amazing job of ensuring the fest would be gigantic this year. I know so many people who usually do Bonnaroo that are doing Sasquatch this year due to MMJ, MA, and Ween (including myself and a bunch of friends), also the fact that each of these bands have hardcore bases that will travel to see them in spots they don't normally get (ie-MA's only fest so far, MMJ as headliner and Ween as a headliner!!!!). Then they got Pavement which seems to be more so the Godfathers of the typical bands that do Sasquatch, surely to bring in all the kids who have got into them after their breakup. No wonder the thing is selling out, really has huge appeal to fans who WILL be there to see those artists.

Putting People on the Moon from Dirty South is intense. Patterson is the southern Dylan (crucify me if ya want). But the guy is a seriouse poet and so connected to the South and its social and economic issues. Seriouse respect for this dude!

Seen Booka Shade at a lot of europe DJ fests, always had an eclectric drum kit with him. Seariously knows how to groove the crowd and really seems to be so appropriate for spactacular settings. Would be sweet if he joined Caribou!

I"m in the same boat, kinda got back into listening to Minus the Bear since the Lineup came out. Love these guys and have actually wanted to check them out live for years. Loved Planet of Ice, kinda like sweet jammy indie. Anyone seen a live show?

Just trying to throw some more topics to discuss and pass time. But I do find some bands really do know how to nail a festie crowd/set (as I am hearing wit the National). So Identify the Festival and date and talk about who we should be excited for or avoid based off of past Sasquatches and Festival set ONLY.

Anyone else as excited as I am to see these guys at the gorge. I love this band, seen 'em tons and will continue to catch them live any chance I can. New album coming out in 2 weeks, new live stuff, can't wait. Patterson Hood is so cool, what's the best story you've heard him tell on stage.
Any one see him in 2008 at a certain defense mechainsm inticing festival that ryhmes with Donnarro when he told the story about Chester to introduce 18 wheeels? I've heard him tell it before, but man that was great, goosebumbs every where "You think I'm Making this shit up? Every Goddamn word is true!!!!!"

I saw the National in a club on their Boxer tour, figured an intimate setting would best serve their music, but man was it a supreme let down. They were still decent, but compared to what a lot of other bands can do on stage, and the fact that I really love their albums (since before Alligator) - dissapointment. Matt Berninger's voice records so well, live was bad.

True about the headliners! But with Bonnaroo sometimes the look of the lineup can be misleading as long as you get about 4 amazing late night sets it usually makes the whole festival. Not many other festivals let you party your face off all day and night and experience bands going way beyond their normal set lengths, really creates these incredible moments where the band and crowd totally connect and play off one another for hours. Plus you get to see once in life time collabs, experiments, stories, interactions and then do it all again. It's like this, the 'roo lineup doesn't look so good, but what if you had 3.5hr LCD Soundsytem/w guests late night, 4hr Black Keys/w guests the next and some Thievery Corp. bring in the sun or Disco Biscuits? Starts to look a little more special. Anyways looking forward to switching up locals this year

This will be my first time at a festival where stages close super early and nothing (band-wise) is going on from night to morning. Done lots of Bonnaroo and Europe fests, the late nights were always the best and a s long as your able to take the monday or tuesday off you worry about rest then. Still looking forward to check out this view especially with MMJ, Massive Attack, Drive-By Truckers and Ween. I really don't know what I'll do with myself at 12:30am!!!!! Anyone know why they shut it down so early???
