funny that you say fleet foxes, because local natives are a lot like them and pfork loooooooved their record but then shit on edward sharpe. they "loved" the new flaming lips record too which i feel is more similar to edward sharpe. not that it was better than the flips, but it deserved better than a 4.1. i can't wait for their ranting on the new gorillaz album. I gotta side with Pitchfork on this one. With all the good new psych bands around, why waste you're time with Edward Sharpe. For fans of good new and old psych, this is some very pukie shit. I mean, "40 day Dream", "Desert" and ughhh, the worst "look Ma I'm in a freak psych troupe band" name ever, "Janglin'". There is nothing that comes close to even attaining second rate here. I suppose if your just getting into psych (or don't care for it) this is pretty accessible stuff that makes ya feel like your listening to a "drug" band. I would suggest, for newer stuff, to check out Akron/Family, The Dodos, Iron and Wine, Besnard Lakes, Sparklehorse, The Pink Mountaintops among others. To see where "Edward Sharpe" is getting his shtick from check out "The Incredible String Band" and "Skip Spence". I will leave you with this, a video of the blissful commune livin' hippie guru himself before he changed his name to Edward Sharp Last word, go check out Portugal, The Man if you wanna see some truly amazing new psych stuff, they are fantastic!!!

This song destroys, would be pretty cool if Pavement joined them. BTW, seen this one performed a couple of times, but if anyone here saw them close out the tent at Bonnaroo 08, was that not incredible, god damn euphoric!!!!!!!

Anyone looking for a great resource for live MMJ audio and video try here. www.archive.org/search.php?query=my%20morning%20jacket&sort=-dateThis has the shows sorted in order according to their date. Most shows are streaming and download, some are download only. There isn't a lot of video but there are hundreds of full length concerts. Thanks! Some more fun stuff!

Thanks, and yes Bruce is the greatest human ever to live. Saw him three times last year and at 60 he still kills a live show better than anyone. Patterson does remind me of him.

Oh, I've listened to MMJ for some time now. Flew out to Denver two summers ago to see them play with the Black Keys at Red Rocks. Evil Urges is just inaccessible to me. My bad. And yeah, Evil Urges is not their best effort, thats for sure. Not arguing over your opinion, but Evil Urges is incredible. I've been a huge fan since At Dawn, and seen 'em multiple times from every tour since It Still moves. The Evil Urges tour is their best so far. perhaps if you're just getting into them Evil Urges might not do it for you? I don't, I love that album

I knew you were fake poster!!! Give it up and hit the bricks. Plus I love when being offensive becomes a point of pride:) Plus, how do you tag youtube videos? HAHAHA A+ response Here's how youtube works, everyone: 1.) Pick your video. Let's say I want to appreciate the fine musicianship of Red Hot Chili Peppers, who do not care about image and are Legitimate Artists (R). So I pick the following video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=06Dql7EiMWE2.) Then, click the youtube tag. It will look like this: (youtube)(/youtube) EXCEPT instead of parentheses, there will be brackets. 3.) Then, take the part of the link that comes after watch?v= which, in this instance, is 06Dql7EiMWE. 4.) Then, put THAT between the youtube tags. It will look like this, but once again -- brackets instead of parentheses: (youtube)06Dql7EiMWE(/youtube) 5.) And then you get this: Most helpful post ever! Thanks.

No unneeded reunions please! I just feel bad for Chris Cornell at this point, his voice is shot and he cops out at all the "cool" parts live and swore off a reunion and tried to be Justin Timberlake and failed and now is going back to Soundgarden. This band totally had its time and place, but unfortunately if they were to come back now they would be more so loved by the cock rock fans that love "Spoonman" from their local Hard Rock Station. Pavement, you know makes sense and their music (not sure about the Live band) is still very relevant in creating new music and approaches.

I've always found Sasquatch way more intriguing than Coachella, better setting and a better acts for the size of the fest. This year is no exception imo. Coachella, if you've ever been, is poorly set up (stage-wise, hard to get around, hard to see), stacked with name checking acts (Faith No More? Love Mike Patton and all, but hate how "whoa they're on the fucking Coachella lineup, that makes no sense, I'm totally there these guys are so goddamn good, gonna be fucking epic!!!" says a kid wit a mustache, born in 1990 and has no idea he's actually made quite the pun. It's like cuz they put it down on the lineup it becomes Gosspel that these kids have been asking for, like, years to have a FNM reunion, I mean it's a once in a life time opportunity to see a band that only shows its face when someone pulls out the dolla bills! Then there is Muse, "I thought we hated Muse, my brother says they hear it on the radio and warm up to it at their Lacross games?" "Dude Lacross is fuckin' ironic and Muse is the tits! Coachella baby!!!" And then there is Sly and the Family Stone, just the way you've always wanted to see them-sandwhiched right in between Spoon and Infected Mushroom, huray!!!! And really hope David Guetta jumps on with Them Crooked Vultures and blows the desert away a "Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night" collab, Tonight's the NIGHTTTTT! Exactly. I didn't even realize I wanted The Jesus and Mary Chain Back together until I saw it on the lineup, thanks Coachella. I especially didn't realize I needed some ScarJo in the mix as well - Hip bands and Sexy actresses, together on the same stage where the fuck is my cocaine and blackberry, ya'll gonna hear about this bitches! somewhere in brooklyn or in a place that wishes it was brooklyn.... "Tiesto sucks" "No man they're on the Lineup!" "What? Soooooo excited im gonna b trippin balls left and right, what do rave kids do again? I think I need to go and buy glow sticks or something" "Is ecstasy just cocaine but you smoke it" "No my brother told me you drink some evey hour, but he hates me, plus you smoke cocaine and like, doesn't work or something" "'k so like, let's drink some ecstasy-" "Let's drink ecstasy and cocaine together to get super high" "I think if we poured some glow stick into the cocaine ecstasy drink it might even be better" "I Love Coachella"

I've seen Vampire Weekend twice, including once this most recent January when they were going through a lot of the stuff on Contra. I love 'em a whole bunch, but I've seen them twice, they don't change their stuff up that much over the course of a single tour, and my dad, who pays for most of this, is a fan of Public Enemy. Props to Dad:)
