Lumpy you made a wise choice, you will never see a show like that from anyother band.

1) The DBT's, plus I got to meet them! 2) MMJ - What a set, I was not on planet Earth by the end 3) Ween - This was superb, my first time seeing them in a venue that truley represented their sound, what a show! 4) Massive Attack - Yikes! 5) They Might Be Giants - That show had everything

Pavement!!!!!!
As a huge fan, and having seen them before - I was kinda not wanting to have those fond memories ruined by a reunion show, but they pulled it out. A set even hard core fans would admit as their favorite.

^^^ I heard some of the Superjam, sounded great but unfortunately too packed. That was a great day at 'roo! So many of those to chose from... Neil Young, The Dead, Ween, The Boss, Phish, Tool, MMJ, and of course Radiohead.
But I will pick one of the festivals I was least excited for "Oxygen Fest 2004"just outside of Dublin, initially I heard it had bands like Black Eyed Peas, Pink and Ash - but knew people going so decided to go anyways. Well Saturday turned into one fine day...
Started with, Buck 65 The Killers (in 2004 this was neat - they were just some band in "the New Band Tent") Hope of the States (had only put out their first album which I really liked) Franz Ferdinand The Rapture PJ Harvey Belle and Sebastian The Strokes The Cure and The Chemical Brothers all night.
It was the first time they had held this festival and it was a complete mess in a good way, no control over bands stepping over the set time, broken curfews, and it made amsterdam look like a joke! The next day I saw Wu-Tang Clan, Shins, Muse, Jimmy Cliff and Wilco. Really turned out to be pretty fun.

Bonnaroo prints the same as Lolla and most fests too.
I suppose Roo and others have elected to give the reader this strange logistical time line path that allows them to see the day as time itself (I know I8, so fucking irrelevant these days) flows in a day. I'm with I8, does it not just make more sense, like for example - goddamn books! Put the ending at the beginning already! It's the most important part, right? Just like a headliner at a festival. Fuck all your "conformed" approach to the space time continuum!

What in the unholy fuck is this? Win! In all seriousness now, Paris has some sweet hostels that are better than many hotels and ridiculously cheap in comparison. Also I just went on a diet that got rid of my acne, whitened my teeth, mowed my lawn, shut down my liver, grew back my hair, cleaned my hard to reach gutters and paid me money for my unwanted gold! Learn more at www.celebsexallstars7.netbut really, hostels are the bomb!

Are their any other 90's Canadian alternative bands that you loved? There were sooo many in those days - it made it easy for Canadian radio stations to comply to that wierd canadian content rule. Here are my fav's: - Rusty - Doughboys - The Gandharvas - Punchbuggy - hHead - The Killjoys (Tongue taken out of cheek) - The Lowest of the Low The Gandharvas were great, also loved Pure Bootsauce Pursuit of Happiness Rehostatics Limblifter Thrush Hermit Eric's Trip All legitamately good stuff!!

The Boss! Bruce's voice seems to have gotten, believe it or not, better this past decade, you won't witness a more powerful and talented human being and at 60 none of it seems like a novelty act, dude is still putting on 3hr+ shows. Radiohead - Seen them from every tour since The Bends, incredible how a band that has changed their sound and stage so much still seems like they have always been that way and have always been the best at doing it that way. In Rainbows tour was sublime. David Byrne - So talented and fun Jack White Caribou - caught totally off guard when I saw them from the Andorra tour, way beyond my expectations, saw them 3 more time of that tour! Drive-By Truckers - Great Rock n' Roll show everytime! Neil Young - Love Neil so much, but it is his electric shows that are in my absolute favorites - would travel and pay whatever to see him electric again Roger Waters - Went to Coachella just to see Dark Side Of The Moon, love that album, what a show! Phish - Even if you think you would rather sit through a season of the Joey Lawrance Show than see a jam band, go and see Phish - Unbelievable no matter what state you're in. Black Mountain Wilco CHK CHK CHK (!!!) Holy shit, when are they gonna tour again - see them if you can! Ryan Adams - No matter what you think of him, he is unstoppable live. Arcade Fire - Specifically from the tour with Wolf Parade Pantera - Hey I was young once, Dimebag was God. My Morning Jacket - Went to a Foo Fighters concert just to see them back in 2002

I know what you mean man. I stopped listening to music altogether a few years ago. I just have my friends listen to the albums and then write me explanations about the music. Those, when accompanied by the lyrics make for a much richer experience than listening to the music itself. You should get an Ipod, spend a couple weeks listening to the music your friends are talking about, then it will make your conversations with them even richer. Then, if you really dig the sound of certain bands, and feel an immediate urge to see what they might be like live without buying a ticket, you can go to youtube, and watch their videos. They have user ratings on that site, so you can just watch the five star videos, because they are generally the best. I wouldn't personally recommend watching live videos, because it takes away from the fun of seeing a band live for the first time. The element of surprise is always more mind blowing. You can thank me later. Here's to your new music discovery. Have fun man. Dude I could be wrong, but I do believe he was being massively sarcastic

I hear what you're sayin' knowidyuh, but the fact that it takes only seconds to scroll past kinda makes it a none issue, plus for a band that I don't know about I am far more likely to get into their stuff from youtube/mp3's and then I will check out what's being said with a better understanding to where people are coming from. Also youtube is full of crap and crappy vidoe/sound so I thank everyone who has done the leg work to show me the good stuff. Try searching "Ween live"" on youtube without knowing what you're looking for, wouldn't do that to my worst enemy

I know people change, and I hope they do, but there is a huge difference from personal growth change to simply becoming what is in the now and cool (I know people do this all the time and that's fine and sometimes part of the process of finding your self, but let's just not throw record contracts at them). Nothing seems genuine in the Edward Sharpe thing and his band of "misfits". From the song content, costumes, and "gather with me people" thing it all rings as in your face and untrue IMO. I'm throwin' in with Portugal, The Man, great live psych stuff.
