stellar that we noticed the update in the few couple days of this transition. 400 points for everyone!
you know those droid commercials? they all say 'droid property of lucasfilms' or something similar. guarantee he is just trying to collect some rent money (like he needs it)

oh i replied after you answered. i never left the page before sorry about that. and thanks a lot. i got worried it was gonna cost an ton.
i plan on driving out with some cheap cases of lionshead from pennsylvania. $13 a case for a cheap pilsner. tastes better than all the light/not-light-but-shitty beers, and it's SO cheap.

everytime i see a new thread i get excited. but it's just a discussion we already had going. i'm confirming that it is very silly.
i wish deer tick was still touring with dr dog at the time, because then MG&V could play.

it's probably a small stage that will just have a couple small acts on it.. kinda like that one small stage at outside lands when i was there a couple years ago. hopefully it doesn't throw too many conflicting curveballs

I've never heard of them and the write up on the website does not do much to explain them or their style...tried to find them on Pitchfork and Wikipedia and nothing. Went to the website and listened to a couple of tracks...ok...tonnes of instruments and layers. they are like yeasayer mixed with some songwriting like the guy from fun. in my opinion, not as amazing blend as that sounds. has some good ideas though and definitely warrants watching unless an actual conflict.

so. three listens later. i really like it. new producer did a nice job capturing sounds and emotions. it's not as in your face as you forgot it in people, but i think has some really positive spots. world sick, chase, forced to love, all to all, ungrateful little father, sentimental x's, sweetest kill are all real cool. art house director rocks. meet me in the basement have some sweet horns.
and let's be honest, broken social scene is a feeling. and overwhelmingly awesome live. and i can't wait to hear it all live.
what do you think about the new album?

to continue the i've seen them before... let's do some recent reviews to keep us busy.
minus the bear: allentown, PA in february. they played like 3 new tracks from upcoming omni (and the new songs continue the lyrical trends of innuendos) they sounded really together on the new stuff. lots from planet of ice obviously. i just stared in awe watching the guitarist play with four dl4 loop pedals.
miike snow: tla in philly 3/25. it was a really stellar show. 6 guys on stage (singer playing guitar/keys, drummer, guy on guitar/bass, 3 guys on mixers and xylophones and drum pads and stuff). the lights and smoke machine was great in the small club, not sure how the visuals will be at the festival. but the music was awesome. they really build the songs live it's not just replication.
midlake: bowery ballroom ny 4/8. four guitars seemed like too many. jazz trained and clearly know their shit. drummer and bassist were awesome. when they all kicked it up a notch it sounded stellar. some of the slower stuff turned into a wash even with a sold out packed crowd for the second night in ny. they played a lot a lot of the new stuff and maybe 4 cuts from van occ.
the hold steady: middle of nowhere PA 4/9. they played 4 new tracks, debuting one (i think barely breathing) live for the first time. they sounded great live. the club was deceivingly loud - we couldn't hear anything when we left. vocals were low in the mix but sounded good. they never overplayed and kept it moving the whole time. my buddy loves them and never saw them and said it was absolutely killer. he has two live bootlegs and said they had a lot more emotion than normal so maybe this tour is clicking for them.
seeing quasi 4/23, and bss!! 5/7, possibly dr dog and tallest man if i can score some easy tickets.
edit: oh and aziz is coming to my school this wednesday.

be careful. p the man listeners tend to become completely infatuated. there is no turning back. and their live show is really heavy compared to the albums. they know how to rock. glad to be of service

they won't conflict. unless like 15 minutes overlap. the extra band on the wookie is going against the headliner. or most of the headliner. they aren't shoving the extra band in the day time and cutting down set times. they want to spread it out. and give people options like other fests.

I will have to check out Portugal the Man since I haven't heard anything before, especially if the show is as kick ass as you say it is. Okay. You are in for a treat. Listen to Church Mouth first. The album rocks top to bottom. Then Censored Colors. Very great indie rock album - it was written as a concept album with two halves. Then listen to Satanic Satanist and hear a more Indie Pop feel with a huge beatles feel. The new album isn't as good as those three, but it's got some cool break-beat drums. They break into jams in the middle of songs and it so fucking good (excuse the language but i need to give it justice). Not many people playing have such a great feel for the classic rock jam. And they have stellar sing-along parts too. That's why they are so impressive. And, props to them, they signed with Atlantic Records last Friday.

BSS/Miike Snow is hard. Hold Steady/National is hard.
Plus later on monday.. japandroids and no age shows are supposed to be great. But Dr dog is awesome live and i've never seen the mountain goats so that's tough.
My biggest conflict is still portugal the man being so early. They fucking kill live. One of the best live rock shows. They deserve so much more recognition.

I fixed mine up. I looked at last year's schedule and assumed the times to start the comedy was at 215 instead of 1245 since they only have the 4 acts instead of 5. They might do 1245 & 215, break, 430 & 6. But whatever, It's all good to go now. excel gets easy when school makes you use it. Attachments:

That schedule is pretty much how I see it happening. I don't think Booka Shade's ranking on the main page is an indication of the time slot they play though. dildon or doumak, one of you should definitely update the excel schedule when the real lineup is released.. most prefer the side by side format. glad to help. i know we enthusiasts like to have a plan of attack so we see the essentials and prioritize. then let the music overwhelm. i don't see booka shade being first either. but either way... (off topic) i'm seeing local natives and cymbals and they might be giants before tallest man on earth.avi buffalo is pretty cool live too i saw them open for rogue wave. oh and i'm gonna be seeing quasi, BSS, midlake, and if i can get free tickets tallest man on earth and dr dog in the next month out here in philly so i'll give you guys some stellar reviews. as i said miike snow was stellar so (on topic) i'll try to make or break some more conflicts for you guys
