Are we back to assuming all board newbs are fake accounts created by me? Such power.

I'm surprised I'm the only one who had trouble reading blue font on a blue background. Aside from not being able to read it, font in general should be consistent. No one thought blue page number, white comma, blue page number, white period looked tacky, or how half of the title of quoted sigs was blue with the other half white? Name a website has multi-colored font lines that isn't intended for little kids?
You guys are free to change it back if you think it looks cool, but as far as visually calming goes, you just went from Skrillex to Gershwin.

Having one line of text more visible shouldn't result in making posts less visible. What should be a priority here, making the board readable for regulars, or making a seldom used navigation tool easier to read for newbs? I'm not saying it's a deal breaker, but it's like reading a book where every 10th line of text is yellow. It's a minor annoyance multiplied times 5,000 and it's distracting.

Anyone here ever heard of Rodriguez? I've been following some of the news coming out of Sundance and one of the most talked about movies there is a documentary about a 70's musician named Rodriguez. I gave a listen to one of his albums and it's pretty great. Are any of you fans? Yeah, I think he played a festival I attended once, so I started listening to his stuff. Great storyteller.

There is one line for the color of links, and it is universal. And if it was white instead of dark blue, it would make the board easy to read.

I quickly ran to the dorms and found Know running franticly down a hallway with a giant box in his hands asking "Where the hell have you been. WHAT WAS IN THE BOX?

Dark blue text with a light blue background is too tough to read, especially when I'm reading on my phone. I can't read the user name, or the username/timestamp text when a post is quoted. It's much easier on the eyes when there is no quote since all the text is white. All the text was white before the change.
It looks nice, but would look really sharp if the royal blue text was white. It's like a jersey in sports, almost all colored jerseys have white text so the name and number are easy to read. The white jerseys have black text for the same reason. There are few exception (yellow on green and vice versus, purple on yellow and vice versus). While I'm betting maybe ya'll can find one, I couldn't find a jersey with the background and name/number a variation of the same color. Just click on a forum, and look how the thread page numbers are blue, with the comma/periods white. It doesn't look right.
EDIT: Changed post since the black text looks nice, it's the blue that is not easy on the eyes.

That would be pretty neat if Zacks got into the "paying bands a lot of money to reunite for the festival" biz like Coachella and European festivals do. He would have to start with bands no one cares about, case in point.

Thank goodness for killing time on the internet. I just found out the show I'm going to in a couple hours has been canceled due to weather. I'm guessing he is stranded in Seattle, because the weather is pretty nice here. I'll bet 90% of the people with tickets to the show still show up.

What J-Dawg is REALLY trying to say is, we're all invited to take showers in his hotel room! I'm actually renting a condo with a number of other guys who share the same "interests" as I do. You may not want to shower there. Haha, good one J-Dawg.

First, let me say, I can name at least 30 DJs off the top of my head. I'm not blind to this style of music, however...
Trance, House, Drum N Bass, Techno, Dubstep, Jungle, Breakbeat, etc, etc. Do you EMDers really know the difference between all of this, or do your eyes go cross-eyed too when people say, "it's dutchhouse/grime/progressive with a hint of big beat/coldwave?" It's all way too complicated. Is there a simplistic way of explaining this. I know a lot of regulars listen to electronic music primarily, so don't think I'm fluffing your feathers here. I'm honestly curious, and I trust your opinions more than google.
I've got a decent handle on dubstep. It is bass heavy. I always related "dub" to reggae, so I'm not sure how adding "step" equals Skrillex?
I don't know what techno even means. Most people I know think all EDM is techno.
Trance, from what I gather, is what I dig. Armin Van Buren and Sasha type shit. I think I nailed that one.
Drum and bass sounds way too easy to figure out, but I hear drum and bass in most electronic music, don't I?
Finally, I think a lot of the confusion lies in my theory that every EDM act is crossing over into many different genres, so how am I supposed to know? Explain what you want, but if you will, explain to me what genre the uber popular EDM acts fall in. Daft Punk, Justice, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Perry Farrell, Swedish House Mafia (this must be house, eh?). What about bands like M83, Chromeo, and Cut Copy? I need a framework to attack the Sahara this season.

Miike Snow is out, playing Seattle April 10th. I mean, this is just getting ridiculous. I can name 200 bands who don't have a Seattle tour date this spring.

Uhh, you lost me. I think you just suggested something that wouldn't happen, then said it seems weird that it would happen? Did I miss something? Did someone suggest an EDM headliner would mean there would only be EDM on the side stages as well? In the past the only other thing on during most (if not all) of the headliner is the dance tent. If they do put EDM on the main as a headliner I think they should put something else on the bigfoot so the EDM haters have a place to go. Historically the Bigfoot doesnt have anything going on during the headliner, but they could change that. Let me rephrase this. If there is an EDM headliner, there will likely be something different on the back stages, that's obvious. You are the only one who suggested it would be EDM on all stages for three hours, then you started arguing against that point. Whatever, as far as nonsensical board ramblers go, you're in my top 5.

I know I'm biased, being an EDM fan and all, but you have to admit that a DJ with an insane light show and a hill full of dancing people would be cool to see at least once at Sasquatch. Agreed, but for that to happen I think they need one with relativly universal appeal. There are a lot of Sasquatch lifers that would be up in arms if Deadmau5 played the main stage with nothing else going on on any other stage except the dance tent. Up until meow there has been non-EDM going until the headliner leaves stage somewhere on at least one stage. Having a non EDM music fest where the only thing on for 3 hours is EDM seems weird. Uhh, you lost me. I think you just suggested something that wouldn't happen, then said it seems weird that it would happen? Did I miss something? Did someone suggest an EDM headliner would mean there would only be EDM on the side stages as well?

Last year, someone on the Coachella board created a thread for people who knew certain bands that others don't, and welcomed those in the know to post a synopsis. I learned a lot about the lineup from that thread, and eventually wrote a review about Menomena (since no one else would). I highly encourage anyone here to find this thread and contribute, and post the link here. For now, I'll mention my two local favorites on the Coachella lineup. Wild Flag and M. Ward.
For those of you reading this who aren't attending Coachella, Wild Flag will be at Sasquatch, and M. Ward will likely be there.
Wild Flag: You've seen Portlandia, right? The female lead was the lead singer/guitar player for Sleeter-Kinney, and is n.ow the lead singer/guitar player for Wild Flag. She is a comedic celebrity! Wild Flag also has the drummer for Quasi and the Jicks. I've seen each band enough to know she is pretty rad. If you didn't know anything about this band before reading this paragraph, you're welcome. Sometimes, random names of superbands are overlooked. I can't recommend any songs, because my music provider did not include their self-titled debut, but I've seen it highly ranked on many year end lists.
M. Ward: One of my favorite guitar players, I've mentioned this to Gramma many times. He doesn't buy it. I can pick out Ward's fingerings from most guitarists out there, which is rare. He also has a lovely voice that should be much more recognizable than it is.
He is famous for She and Him, because that new chick who married the Death Cab guy is really famous. Although I was impressed with Zooey's musical talent, the focus was 93% on her, so many don't even know who M. Ward is. That is frustratingly sad, because dude is so talented.
"Four Hours In Washington," from Transistor Radio, is a great tune, especially for those of you with insomnia. His best song however is, "Poison Cup," from Post-War. He played "She Disappeared," during the recent She and Him tour, the only non She and Him song he performed, so it's obvious he likes that one.
My recommendation, listen to the three songs mentioned above. If you like them, listen to Post-War.
