Are we seriously sending torrent links to each other on the board now?

Yeah that's probably not a good idea. Those are the boards that get shut down.

I'm sure that it'll be one of NPR's First Listen albums shortly. I'll check it out then...but it'll probably be worth buying in the end.

Yeah that's probably not a good idea. Those are the boards that get shut down. Um, no. Unless we decide to start a torrent board or something and it gets really active.

At the very least keep all the pirating talk to the PM's. As in, don't mention on the board "I'm PM'ing you the torrent", just PM it. Better yet wait for a real stream or buy it!
Long and short is I'm not making this point a "downloading debate" starter. For the most part we have been very scarce on the pirating talk and it seems that a large number of us still pay for our music (I'm actually pretty impressed). Posters like Gramma have really helped set the tone that we don't condone illegal downloading on this board and not just from a legal post board stance but as genuine fans.
I'll for one second here appreciate that the whole downloading thing is complicated and that all of you are only doing it because you are on death's door and to deny you the nourishment of the pirated Fleet Foxes album would make you die or something. Fine, don't die. Eat your Fleet Foxes you didn't pay for and live another day, but don't paste it all over the board.

The CD version is pretty lame. It's basically a promo-style slip case that says "gee thanks fer buying" on the inside. I still like having my real music though.

I hope the vinyl comes with a CD as I am busting to hear this album (been holdin' out) and once I physically have it in my hands it is gonna make me go insane if I can't here it until I get home.

I just got the vinyl copy of it and it does NOT come with a CD. It came with a digital download code, which is fucking useless to me since I already bought it from the website when it first came out. I had no intention of buying a physical copy of the album until I saw it at HMV for $12.99. At that price I figured I'd be an idiot for not buying it.

I would much rather have a digital download than a CD. I think it is really great when they give you that with the vinyl, since I always want the vinyl anyway. I talked to HG and he said he got the vinyl and they gave him some sort of limited edition lithograph. I am excited to see it after work. I think he is currently waiting out on the street corner on Hawthorne seeing about this whole newspaper thing. From all accounts it kind of sounds like there is actually going to be a person out on the sidewalk handing them out.

Boohoo...I didn't get a limited edition lithograph with mine. That newspaper thing is pretty odd, yet interesting.

Unless the newspaper hints at a follow-up album I can't for the life of me think of a single thing I would give a shit about reading in there.

Eh, I see it as a fun piece of memorabilia. Radiohead has always had the coolest limited release stuff.
