Hate when festivals are run this way though (Treefort Fest): "Regardless of what pass you have, the only way to guarantee you will see your favorite acts is to show up early! Treefort is all about seeing great bands in small venues. As a result, venues will fill up from time to time over the course of the festival. If a venue is full, we can't let you in until another fan leaves the venue (its a legal thing).
If you have a General Admission Pass you'll need to get in line outside the venue (if there is one) and wait until another fan leaves the venue. The door staff will admit passholders as others leave on a one-out, one-in basis.
If you have a VIP Pass you simply walk to the front of the line, show your VIP Pass, and wait until another fan leaves the venue. The door staff will admit VIP passholders in a priority position on a one-out, one-in basis.
We will have line attendants outside of every venue informing you of estimated wait times, waits (or lack thereof) at nearby venues, and escorting VIP passholders to the front of the line."

Motherfucker. A) I thought the Built To Spill show was 2/1 not 1/31 and B) its fucking sold out cause I'm a dingus and just now tried to buy tix. Holla atcha boy fig if you know anybody selling one for face or at least close. I am not sure if Wonk has any tickets left, but you should ask him. If he does not, however, you may be in luck if you want to just come down here with everyone. When the Doug Fir sells out of a show they hold some tickets back that are available day of show when the box office opens. If you are able to be there when they open you could potentially get a ticket. But you are a dingus because that show sold out in a few hours.

So... if Animal Collective & Dan Deacon are going to be at Coachella, I think I am going to Coachella. If they aren't, I'm going to Treefort Fest. There, it's been said, no turning back now.
If it's going hiking, then I'm going hiking... are you coming hiking?

I know that wonk hates when I speak on his behalf, but I asked him specifically if he was sitting on a BtS ticket for Fig right after they sold out and he said 'yes'. Pretty sure that shit's covered.

Spiritualized 2013 Tour Dates: 04/04 –Denver, CO @ Bluebird Theater 04/05 –Salt Lake City, UT @ Urban Lounge 04/06 –Boise, ID @ Knitting Factory 04/08 –Seattle, WA @ Neptune Theatre 04/09 –Portland, OR @ Wonder Ballroom 04/11 –Santa Cruz, CA @ Cocoanut Grove Historic Ballroom 04/12 –Las Vegas, NV @ House of Blues And then probably Coachella.
This strokes me out because I did not think I was going to get a chance to hear 'I Am What I Am' live after missing them at Sascrotch.

I hope hope hope I can afford to go to this one. Do you think it will sell out quick?

I am probably the worst person to ask about these things, but Sufjan is the only act I know of selling out the Neptune in 2012.

Yeah, ever since they started the Instant Fan Club the turnaround on albums has been much shorter. Which is nice, as long as Nanobots is roughly as good as Join Us was.
I checked yesterday or the day before and they still hadn't announced the west coast leg of the tour. Why the fuck do they always play the Crystal? Whatever, yeah, this one will set the Gramma TMBG show ticker to the big two-oh. Which is nice because they finally dragged themselves out of their live performance slump. Saw half a dozen shows in the 00's that, like, weren't their best.

Yissss. The new record has something like twenty-five tracks, which is the first indicator of quality TMBG dorks look for when assessing an upcoming release. (Not sarcasm.)

Youth Lagoon is playing on Feb 26th at the Badlander in Missoula. I missed him last time he came through. Those late weeknight shows are rough, but I think I'm going to try to make this one. Why? is playing the next night, which means I choose one or the other, or road trip 2 days in a row, which would be really rough.
