KY that is fucking awesome! Did you fucking love it!?Man, if I had only known how easy it apparently is to get free Primus tickets I wouldn't have gone to the trouble of purchasing mine. HG, I've been thinking for the last few days about how to respond and all I could come up with was: THANK YOU!!! Thank you to you (and to other members of the board too) for encouraging me to check out Primus and for guiding me down that path in such a way that they've quickly become one of my favourite bands. Because of that I got to experience what was one of the best shows, and all 'round nights, I've experienced in a long, long time!! I realize there were elements to the show I saw that weren't even ideal - I missed half of it, and my show was a seated event which limited my crazy dancing and moshing to just my aisle and the guys on either side of me - and yet I was still blown away! One of the guys next to me kept screaming "we are so lucky" and I couldn't have agreed more; that really was an exceptional show I got to attend, one I will remember for years. I was surrounded by some true fans that were a blast to pop my Primus cherry with and I witnessed some insane musicians just simply do their thing. I already can't wait for the next time I will get to see them live, it just brought new dimensions and enhanced their sound so much for me. I left the show contemplating jumping in my car at the crack of dawn to drive to their next show in Spokane. And as far as the free ticket thing, I feel really, really lucky that happened. I was entirely prepared to pay, and not for a moment did I question the $70 price even though the show was half over because I knew it was still going to be worth it (the couple buying tickets at the window next to me we're trying to haggle harsh with the agent though). But for the guy to just give it to me free made it the cherry on top of what was already an awesome birthday week. A week that I actually was very nervous and stressed about 'cause of the one year annivsary of my bub's passing. Oh, and 'cause I "saved" money on the ticket, I ended up buying a shirt and the poster for the show, haha. And then this all lead into me splurging on a second show that night (Above & Beyond) and meeting a group of amazing, new people. So to sum up: thank you HG for being the catalyst to one of my best birthday celebrations in a long time!

Anyone seen Zammuto live yet? I'm curious how makes that stuff happen live. How does he make that stuff happen live? Does he really make that stuff happen life?

Burrito saw them opening for Explosions in the Sky a couple months ago. Personally I wasn't willing to spend $40 to see a shorter Zammuto set and then have to sit through Explosions in the Sky, so I am anxiously awaiting the headlining tour Nick Zammuto has been promising.

He makes it happen alright, with the help of three other dudes. I love Nick, but the most impressive part of their show was the drummer. At some points he was playing a completely different pattern with each hand. My mind was blown.

Awesome. As mentioned before one of the City Plaza nights of Hopscotch involves Zammuto into Built to Spill into Jesus and Mary Chain. Add to that 11 different great club shows that are going to happen after that, and that's going to be a damn good night. Stoked.

Aren't all shows at MacEwan Hall all ages? They have a beer garden set up in the hallway usually?
I should bring my wee sis to this. She would love it, and I'd be doing my primary sisterly duty (getting her interested in non-Justin Beiber music)

I think they call it the ballroom? Downstairs is usually 18+ where you can buy a beer at the back and watch the show like a regular human being.

And it's looking possible Deerhoof might play later that night. Then it will be an ESPECIALLY good night. (Thee Oh Sees play the night before.)

I've been to shows where it's been the opposite of what you've said.

Going to a small dive bar show in Bellingham tonight. It is at The Cabin Tavern (super dive) and the band is Permanent Collection. Pretty stoked for this show even though I have heard one song only. At least it will be cheap
