J-Dub I would recommend listening to Omni to decide for yourself because obviously we all have different tastes in music. Hancho likes it, I hate it. I can assure you that Hancho is wrong though. Ha ha.

Any yinz canuks near BC checking out the Telus Festival?
Word has it Tokyo Police Club and BSS will be there.
I don't know much about it--I just work for a publishing company and we cover snow sport events and apparently it'll be a big deal next week.

So... Who got their APC tickets? That showare site sucks! I kept getting sent to a "waiting room" due to high demand, but I finally scored a pair after about a half hour.

Nope... no room on the cc, and no guaranteed car at the moment. Can't risk it.

That photo was used by malcomjamalawsome on the Coachella board as his avatar forever. He is sort of like the interstateeight of the Coachella board, only funny.

The B.J. show ended up being a lot better than I expected. They only played three songs from Omni, and they closed with Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse, one of my faves. They seemed to really have fun with the show, even though I was yelling either "Play Frequency Ass Bandit!" or "Play Cashmere, Washington" between most songs, just for shits and giggles. I have also decided that if I ever win the mega millions I'm going to offer Jake Snyder and the rest of the Sharks Keep Moving crew a cool million to relearn all 16 of their songs and play an exclusive house party that I will be the sole controller of the guest list for.
I'm 100% serious about that.

I yell song requests at the stage when I go to shows. Please punch me. I'm 100% serious about that.

This is literally the only time I've ever done this, and the requests were for songs from members previous bands. I also exaggerated the frequency.
That being said, they chuckled a couple times, so I didn't feel like the asshole that maybe I should have.

I shouted out a request for the song "Available" during the National's Yeti stage set a couple years ago. They didn't play it, but that moment obviously had a profound impact on their setlist decision making for their recent tour. It was the only pre-Alligator song they played.
That was the only time I yelled out a request for a song I wanted to hear, and I won't do it again. However, when people start yelling requests to the point that it becomes overly annoying, I usually yell out, "play Freebird."

I love that people still yell out botch songs at minus the bear shows. There used to be a solid 10-15 people yelling John Woo at all their shows maybe 5 years ago

Yeah... Its ridiculous how much Knudsen sweats. Third motivation for yelling fake requests: The show was in tacoma, where botch was from.
But as evidenced by my previous post about laying out a cool million for an SKM show, I'd WAY rather see one of those than a botch song.

However, when people start yelling requests to the point that it becomes overly annoying, I usually yell out, "play Freebird." Did this exact same thing when I saw Colin Meloy. Lady kept screaming "Mariner's Revenge" to a completely solo Colin Meloy (just him an acoustic guitar) expecting him to try and replicate it in such conditions. My mocking calls of "Freebird" had no effect on her, but when Colin finally confronted her on how ridiculous that ideas was, she finally shut up.

I saw Colin solo a long time ago and someone in the crowd kept yelling for jessie's girl. Colin complimented them on the absurdly random suggestion and even sang the chorus for a little bit
