Yeah, I heard alot of people were disappointed with their lolla show, which may be the reason their comeback hasn't been hyped up or why they haven't been booked/rumoured for more big events/festivals.
I'm just drawing a blank on the other, supposedly cheaper, headliners would be. I'd love to see The Strokes, but for some reason I don't think it will happen. I'd say Pulp would be a shoe-in for the Massive Attack Spot (European, touring after hiatus, etc.) but they're playing primavera and then in the uk in june. I don't think they'd do a one off at Sasquatch. Portishead apparently aren't in NA until the fall. Perhaps LCD Soundsytem will return? Is Faith No More still touring? Flaming Lips are possible, though they too are at Primavera. Maybe M.I.A.?

Okay, so more to help my poor brain out than anything, I decided to make a sorta guide to potential headliners that maybe we can draw from. Correct me if I'm wrong on the placement or inclusion of any of these, it might be a little shaky. Trying to be as objective as possible and excluding personal taste.
NEVER GONNA GET
Radiohead Daft Punk White Stripes Rage Against The Machine RHCP
Borderline, most likely too expensive
Pearl Jam Soundgarden Outkast Muse Weezer Coldplay
High Tier questionable acts
Beastie Boys Neil Young The Strokes Kings Of Leon Depeche Mode Kanye West
Realistic Weekend Headliners
Arcade Fire Wilco Tenacious D Faith No More Ben Harper The Roots The Flaming Lips Beck The Pixies
Smaller, mostly untested "Monday" caliber headliners
Death Cab Modest Mouse Phoenix Sufjan Stevens Bright Eyes Spoon Yeah Yeah Yeahs The Decemberists
Thusfar unmentioned out of nowhere Reunion acts with NW ties
The Shins Sleater-Kinney The Postal Service

I don't think kol will be there, Yeah, I really don't expect KOL to be there either, but given their status and the fact that they've put out an album since their last performance I guess there's a scrap of a chance. I sure hope not though.

weezer headlined bumbershoot, we can easily afford them
daft punk is unbelievably less expensive than pearl jam is....like 1/4th of the cost
faith no more is done touring
Kings of Leon is now out of our price range

You should make an "oh god no" category and add, Kol, the killers And Jack Johnson.

I wonder what interstateeight thinks about Weezer as a Sasquatch possibility?

I dunno. As we all know, I8 loves bands whose creative peak was in the 90's.

Or at least never gonna get THIS YEAR, anyway. Don't know why I thought Weezer would be that expensive, but I forgot about them doing bumbershoot back in September, seems like it'd pretty much rule them out, right?

Daft punk would be less expensive but coachella or bonnaroo would throw them a bunch of money to be exclusive, and unless Adam zaks is blackmailing then with recent pictures of them with out the robotic head gear, we couldn't compete.

HG: I won't lie. Solid zing, even if you're wrong.
Salamander: I appreciate the effort, but here are some things I find to be lame about your post:
-A category called "NEVER GONNA GET." Sick of this attitude, sick of this sentiment. -A category featuring the words "too expensive." Sick of this attitude, sick of this sentiment. -Weezer is too expensive? Weezer is terrible, but setting that aside, would they really be such a difficult "get" for the festival? -It doesn't matter what you think about Bright Eyes -- whether you're a casual fan or an ardent fanboy like HG -- it's just not a realistic headlining spot. I'm not saying Bright Eyes couldn't appear at Sasquatch, or couldn't fit in, just that it would be a questionable choice to close out the weekend.
I don't know, I think we should just start trying to use "demonstrable schedule conflicts" and "death of all members" as the only criteria for definitively ruling out a band.

I'm sick of the misguided suggestion that Pearl Jam or Radiohead is headlining, it's pointless and if we're actually trying to post educated guesses then it's completely off base. If they were playing they'd be playing the friday night slot but the foo fighters are instead.

Speaking of misguided suggestions, pointless posts and horribly wrong 'educated guesses'...
Jesus, c-bat, what are you even talking about? For serious. What does a set from the Foos on Friday have to do AT ALL with sets on one of THREE other days from other bands? Are you doing Stupid Math again? Because I think it is well documented that this board has had its fill of the Stupid Math.

I think the lack of any of us knowing the finances of the festival undermines any arguement of "but its too expensive!!".
