I think it is a travesty that GBV are so low in the lineup. You kids have some respect for your elders! Right?

it amazes me that DFA is on that many top ten lists Uh why? They're a popular band just got back together and people who didn't get a chance to see them before they broke up before get a chance to finally see them. But I thought more people would be excited about Death Cab but I guess not.

it amazes me that DFA is on that many top ten lists Uh why? 'how exactly is a rainbow made? how exactly does a sun set? how exactly does the posi trac rear end on a plymouth work? It Just Does.'they're really not. but i do concede they do have a small, yet out-spoken LOUD cult following.

Bands I really like and wanna see:
Flaming Lips Wilco Guided By Voices Deerhunter Black Mountain !!! Ratatat
Bands I'm only interested in for the Festival "Experience"
Bassnectar Robyn
Bands I wouldn't have on my wish list, but since they are here and not a lot is...
Pink Martini Old 97's Alberta Cross Flying Lotus
I will be seeing Sleigh Bells a couple of days before Sasquatch, and have also removed Decemberists and Modest Mouse out of my essential shows. Not that they aren't good bands but my initial enthusiasm has gone down considerably for seeing them as festival headliners.

they're really not. but i do concede they do have a small, yet out-spoken LOUD cult following. Its pretty tough to guage the populairity of DFA since they havent put out a new album and havent played any shows other than festivals. The easiest way to tell how popular a band is is to see how many albums they have sold or how fast they sell out a certain amount of tickets. They are billed really high on Coachella and Sasquatch which means the festival organizers think they are popular, but its impossible to know how many of the buyers are actually going (at least in part) to see them. I can tell you that before they broke up they were opening for bands in 1000-2000 person venues. Since they broke up they have obviously gained some populairity because of MSTRKRFT, but until they start playing some shows on their own it will be really hard to tell who is there to see them and who is there just because they are at the festivals.
