1. Flaming Lips- Everything I keep hearing about their live performances oozes with awe and wonder. Plus, this band is about the only thing that makes me feel proud about living in Oklahoma for 5 years. 2. The Decemberists- gotta give some love to my fellow Portlanders 3. Wilco 4. Death Cab 5. Iron & Wine- hopefully hear some music from Our Endless Numbered Days 6. Foo Fighters 7. Beach House 8. Noah & the Whale 9. Tokyo Police Club 10. Bassnectar

I love top 10 lists! Every band but one will be my first. 1. Foo Fighters 2. Bassnectar 3. Sleigh Bells 4. DFA1979 5. The Decemberists 6. Chromeo 7. Flaming Lips 8. Major Lazer
Until I do more research and listening these are the only must see performances I realize fully that it was kind of sad to post only a top 8 in a top 10 must see list, but I had to listen to a few more artists before I decided. My 'must see' bands are the musicians that I absolutely have to see and will be totally devasted if I miss at this our 10th Sasquatch. 1)Foo Fighters - FF to me is a band that I don't love or hate, but generally respect. What I've seen/heard of their live festival sets has me excited. Could be the best pure rock performance of the weekend. 2)Bassnectar - I don't need to explain this here. 3)Sleigh Bells - Something so fuckin catchy about this band, love her voice and can't wait to see whats in store for me at their performance. It's like a cheerleader who loved/metal and rock with a dose of NIN. 4)DFA1979 - One of a few bands in my top 10 that I didnt know prior to the announcement of Sasquatch this year. Totally enjoy everything I've heard, seems like they can put on an energetic show I think they'll make an awesome prelude to FF. 5)the Decemberists - Love the oasis/beatles vibe I get from these guys, the portion of their show I saw in 2009 was solid and barring any scheduling conflicts with Skrillex/Major Lazer this is a show I plan to see in full. 6)Rodrigo Y Gabriella - Beautiful. I get goosepoops when I watch videos of their wish you were here and Stairway covers. Again I really hope they dont conflict with Skrillex/Lazer. 7)Black Mountain - FUCK YES! Black rock n fucking roll Mountain. Probably my favorite discovery of a band in the last year. Their music is so powerful. Love to see a band with this sound at a festival that is packed pretty heavily with indie rock. 8)Archers of Loaf - What a fuckin jammin band. This is not generally my preferred sound, but something about these guys does it for me. They sound like a group that plays hard and will be a kick ass live act. 9)The Flaming Lips - They better live up to the fucking hype because I've listened to Soft Bulletin all the way through a good dozen times and the lyrics still seem like complete nonsense to me. That being said the instrumentation and sound are amazing. I'm totally compelled by their sound, but utterly offput by their lyrics. Live up to the hype, DO IT! 10)Skrillex - This guy is sorcerous. I can't wait for his sound to twist my mind! 11)Wolf Parade - Supposedly their last show, whats not to be excited about. (Sorry had to squeeze'em in) Other honorable mentions that I totally want to see but will not classify in the must see them or hate myself later top 10 list include - MSTRKRFt, Chromeo, Major Lazer, Yeasayer, Bonobo, Guided By Voices, Foster the People, Glitch Mob, Trailer Park Boys, Tim Minchin, Reggie Watts, and Wheedle's Groove. How do I find more music by "!!!" Like if I were going to go to my local music shop how would I ask for their cd? "Hey can you special order me a CD by 3 exclamation points" I haven't been able to find them on youtube either. 43 until departure. See you guys Thursday. Or those of you who show up a day early. Look for the north dakotans and you have found us.

Am I off my rocker with that? I haven't listened to their entire body of work but thats the vibe I get from what I have heard. I've played them for quite a few friends and alot of people say they remind them of Oasis. Its not an opinion that I'm going to argue/defend heavily, like I said its just the feeling I got.

1) Flaming Fucking Lips (havent seen em since 08) 2) Modest Mouse (again, not since 08) 3) Wolf Parade (possible last show ever, and havent ever seen em) 4) Rodrigo Y Gabriela (never seen them and probably wont get another chance) 5) Fitz and the Tantrums (fell in love with these guys a month ago, hopefully they can pull it off live) 6) Black Mountain (Amazing I have never seen them since they are from Vancouver. Coulda seen them in 2008 but they were playing at the same time as the Flaming Lips, and Wayne gave a shout out to them, which is pretty awesome of him) 7) Flogging Molly (I'll probably catch hell for this, but I see the Dropkick Murphys every time they come through Vancouver, plus I need to be in there during their set anyway so get a good spot for the Flaming Lips) 8) Ratatat (Had to get an electronic act in there) 9) DFA 1979 (havent seen them since 2004 in a little place called the croatian cultural centre, they blew my 16 year old mind) 10) Foo Fighters (probably wouldnt ever pay to see them in a stadium but since they are here and I dont mind most of their stuff, it would be pretty stupid to miss them)
Honourable Mentions:
Major Lazer (they would be on there for sure if I didnt see them last summer and will see them again this summer, anyone not particularly interested in Wilco, or whoever they are up against should check them out, they put on an amazing show) Bassnectar Trailer park boys (loved that show too much to pass up a chance to see them) Best Coast Dan Mangen Sam Roberts !!!
Thats probably enough...

I don't really consider Ratatat an electronic act.

They have total jams but I wouldn't call them electronic either.

I was wondering if someone was going to bring that up. Ok maybe not electronic like other EDM, but they are playing the late night dance set, so I figured they were close enough. But yeah, I would have to agree, they arent really electronic.
I would rather they played the mainstage or dance tent at some point and then they could throw Major Lazer or MSTRKRFT in a late night spot, which would be more like the dance type acts of past late night shows. Then again Ratatat would be pretty awesome late at night. I think I'm mostly just bitter because it looks like I will miss MSTRKRFT for Modest Mouse.
