alright guys, lets agree to disagree. we've covered most of this ground in the other topic. I don't think it's plausible and I just wanted a counterpoint so people reading this see both opinions

I know people don't think it will happen but I bet we see The Flaming Lips (w/ Stardeath and White Dwarfs) performing Dark Side of the Moon hopefully with Henry Rollins

Assuming we do get the Lips doing Dark Side, is that all they do? I would rather see a regular Lips show but they do seem pretty determined to do Dark Side. I'm more interested to see what their material from Embryonic would be like live.

and Peaches? In fact, why not a Peaches set at Sasquatch. I'm kind of surprised it hadn't happened before

But at Bonnaroo they can play for 3 hours in a late night set. I don't know if they have that flexibility at Sasquatch. Maybe if they headline a night and get to play to 1:00 am. It would be a hell of a show.

I see Pavement, Jack Johnson, and perhaps Soundgarden as the most likely headliners this year. I think the organizers have realized that they can still put on a successful festival without massive headliners, and rather a more diverse and deep undercard. I really can't see the Flaming Lips playing again (especially playing DSOTM, thats definitely more suited to Bonnaroo). Other long shots: a band that might not be considered a headliner like Arcade Fire, Them Crooked Vultures, or MMJ (people said the same thing about KOL last year). I highly doubt he would play Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Sasquatch, but I'm surprised no one has suggested Jay-Z as a possibility. I am sure that one of the 2 remaining headliners will be someone that nobody is talking about.

In the sense that the tour dates line up OK, yeah, he's a rumor just as much as any other band with an open Memorial Day weekend is. His gap is from late April to the middle of June, though, so it's nothing as precise as Why?'s schedule.

Jack Johnson is going to headline all 3 days, he has no shows booked for any of them.

Their set was still like an hour long. And let's not forget what happened in 06:
Crazy hail storm set the main stage behind schedule. All the acts due to play where fully prepared to accommodate the crazy weather and put on a great show at a slightly later time, and to also shorten their sets if need be...
EXCEPT FOR BEN HARPER. Ben Harper insisted that he go on at the originally scheduled time and play his full set. Which meant the Flaming Lips had to go on after him. Which meant I had to sit through two hours of that asshole and his stupid songs.
Yes... yes, I am still bitter about this.

I remember when he broke into his second hour set, the people around me went ape shit and booed for a whole hour. It was amazing!

i'm getting tired of all the people here predicting jack johnson, and i'm going to blame you bastards if he ends up there. what a waste of a headlining spot that would be.

consequenceofsound.net/2010/02/10/smashing-pumpkins-to-tour-with-janes-addiction/there were rumors earlier that Smashing Pumpkins might headline but if this is true I would say they are out. Jane's isn't coming back and it'd be safe to assume that the tour dates will conflict. That said, you could also read it as saying that Pumpkins are probably touring this summer which means they could be there (and they would definitely headline a day)

Yeah I don't see Jane's Addiction coming back (thank god, I am so sick of Perry Ferrel).
And there's a great history of bands doing long shows at late hours at Bonaroo, which I think is awesome, I've heard great stories about Pearl Jam and the Flaming Lips - although that's neither here nor there.
I really hope the Pumpkins don't headline. I saw them on their last tour and they really felt like they were just going through the motions.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely do not want JJ to headline a night, but right now the rumours are few and far between and he seems like a reasonable candidate. New album coming out, has a history of headlining big fests, played Sasquatch a few years back. As for Smashing Pumpkins...they could hardly even be considered a headliner anymore without the original band members. More like Billy Corgan & Friends...
