Jack Johnson is no less/more larger than Radiohead, REM or the Beasties.[/quote]

I can't believe people still make this mistake on the internet. In any event, Stop arguing about how "big" bands are.

No, your reatarded!
Anyways, I can't believe that we are five days away from the line-up announcement and the only headliner that we know for sure is Pavement, who the festival told us about 3 months ago. Seriously, we really don't have a clue who the other two headliners are. We might have some good guesses but we don't really know. You figure that the line-up has been shown to plenty of people. I can't believe there is not some disc jockey trying to act cool and blowing the secret. Or at least giving us hints like last year.
Give us some sort of sign Sasquatch! Seriously, there are like a whole 7 people on this board that actually care. We're your bread and butter! Do not forsake us!

it's gonna have to be a good rest of the lineup for tickets to sell out, pavement won't draw anywhere near the amount of people that headliners in previous years have (infact a lot of people have no idea who they even are). there will have to either be the best sub-headliners the festival has ever seen, or they'll need to drag out a couple big headliners that draw a lot more than pavement. i have a feeling during pavement's set its gonna look like an early afternoon sized crowd, 80% or more of people will be at other stages or back at the campground. guessing its gonna be soundgarden and beastie boys as the other two headliners.

i've heard lots of suggestions regarding the beastie boys, but I pointed out in the older topic that sasquatch has never re-used a headliner in its history. It doesn't mean they won't do it, but it's a factor worth considering...

I would count Flaming lips too even though the were technically a sub headliner once...

2002 - String Cheese Incident 2003 - Coldplay 2004 - The Postal Service 2005 - Pixies 2006 - Beck, Ben Harper, Nine Inch Nails 2007 - Bjork, Beastie Boys 2008 - REM, The Cure, Flaming Lips 2009 - Kings of Leon, Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction, Ben Harper
Granted that Ben Harper had a different backing band the 2nd time. Compiling this makes me not understand the Jack Johnson hate; I assumed he had headlined once in the past and that's where it all came from, but he's only even played at the thing once, in 2002, as a subheadliner.

That means I can get really close to the stage. Awesome. And as much as I think they're going to be a headliner, let me emphasize the now-age-old question, "Do we even know if Pavement is going to headline?"

Didn't Beck headline in 2006? It was a 1 day festival, I guess it depends on how you view a headliner. My thought is that the headliner is the last act each night so in my eyes the guy made the correct statement. I'm thinking that we are going to see headline acts that are surprising, a couple that aren't playing at Bonarroo or Coachella. What's going on with Iggy & the Stooges? Tool possibly? All I can say for sure is they are keeping a good secret, looking forward to Monday/Tuesday. Sorry, thought it was a 1 day festival in 2006 but that was the year they grew.

i guess ben harper did play twice, in only slightly different forms...I totally (without regret) forgot about him/them. NIN was a "co-headliner" last time but I think playing after Jane's Addiction was what caused me to forget.
I also like the Strokes pick, but I don't know how likely it would be. I've asked a few people how they felt about a Strokes possibility this year, but they all tell me they aren't headliner caliber. I'm not sure I agree. Aren't they headlining some crap in the UK?

Biff: I wouldn't bet on Tool at all, Puscifer is touring in the Spring (through early April) and while that doesn't entirely preclude Tool, I'd think that if a Maynard headed band were to play, that'd be the one.

Yeah I kind of just threw that out there Coren, I thought I read that Tool was going into the studio right away to record a new album but I might have read it wrong.

That would be really cool, I've been dying for another Tool tour (fucking Everett? Really guys) - although not as bad as I have A Perfect Circle
