Oooooofff I definitely needed a few days to recover and readjust my brain before talking about Squatch. I don't understand, but as per usual Sasquatch magic infiltrated my honestly low expectations and Friday ended up as one of the most memorable and just plain fun days of a music festival I've ever been to. A friend and I had accepted "Bittersweet Symphony" as the theme song for our ridiculous one day Gorge trek for a few weeks and hearing that one main stage band cover it was one of the more surreal experiences I've had. Thee Oh Sees were absurdly good, burned Bigfoot to the ground. A few surprise Yeti acts made the mid day fun. Managed to get second to the front for a pleasantly packed LCD set. Successfully brought to tears by a musical performance for the second time in my half decade of Squatchin'. I honestly think my only regret was not going for the full weekend. Still trying to figure out if all this board praise for 21 Pilots is sarcastic or not Here's hoping for Sasquatch 2018!

I don't even think it spent much time above 90 this year but I don't think I saw a single cloud in the sky from Friday onward. It was brutal. By far the worst I've experienced. dolphinately would have died in 2009 in this case. Yeah pretty sure that I only survived 2009 because I hadn't started drinking much yet. One of my friends passed out for two hours after Gogol Bordello that year. But that was probably just from Gogol themselves

From everyone I've seen on here and that i've talked to it seems like this was collectively one of the best Sasquatches. I'm curious as to why? What was it that made this weekend so great for everyone? I know for me it was a mix of killer acts blowing me away, being with a great group this time, meeting lovely people at the fest, being blown away yet again by that view, and every day eating just the right amount of corn chips. Whatever it was for us all, the Sasquatch magic was def in the air this weekend.

Whatever it was for us all, the Sasquatch magic was def in the air this weekend. It's really strange how great this year was after our hopes were seemingly so low. For me, I think seeing the crowds so large and so genuinely happy is what did it. The crowds really were great this year - very young, but surprisingly not unbearable by any means. And all of the sets were just so damn on point. I think going into it being really afraid that our fest was dead, and then seeing it live, quite successfully, just brought so much renewed joy to the festival. It was definitely full of stop and look around at everything working perfectly kind of moments... over and over again.

The sub-par (on paper, at least) lineup got all the Negative Nancies to stay home, so everyone who came out was super positive. Even the little kids and their parents who came on Saturday were all fucking stoked to be there. I credit the day passes for more people showing up early and staying in all day. I know the no overlapping sets had something to do with it, but I saw crowds at the Bigfoot at 2 in the afternoon that were as big as I've ever seen at that time of day. And by rotating fresh noobs in every day, it helped keep the overall energy up vs being all people who had been lost in the desert for 3 days.

I got the post festival follow up survey email today that included the "whet are your top three artist choices for next year" question. So they're at least thinking about it.

I looked at the updates Sasquatch was posting on social media and a few people were leaving negative comments still but you could tell they definitely weren't there everyone I met was super friendly and easy to talk to. and just being at the gorge in general and having nice weather + insanely nice sunsets made everyone happy I wish I had gone every year for the past few years

God damnit you guys. I am reading the board from a gorgeous spot in Italy and I'm still so jealous. 21 Pilots was GOOD?! Unacceptable. I have definitely had a bit of an empty feeling in my chest over the last few days knowing I was missing Sasquatch and this hasn't really helped but now I am more determined than ever to return next year, assuming there is a next year (there better be a next year)!

Who knew Sasquatch had such a devoted San Diego contingent of whiny assholes? LOL, those are all extended festival family. That shit made me laugh.

I know I have been pretty outspoken against time travel in the past, but given recent events, I think it might be time to relax my policy a bit. Do any of you birds know an ymbryne that can help us build a time loop? I need it to at least include Friday evening from 10:15-12:30, but it can extend longer into the weekend, it it is safe to do so. I believe that if we only stay in the loop for a couple weeks (just long enough to see/hear everything from every possible angle and memorize every detail), when we finally break it, we won't age forward too much and we will survive. And as long as we stay geographically isolated at the Gorge, we shouldn't have too much risk of creating any irreparable paradoxes or disrupting the space-time continuum. I know it's risky, but given the choice of this or possibly never seeing LCD at the Gorge again, I think it's a risk we have to take.

I kinda wish I wasn't on a massive acid trip at the time being but it was still super enjoyable I was one of those people last year who was all like "what is LCD soundsystem" when they got booked for Coachella..so I had no idea what to expect from them but now I'll go out of my way to see them if they ever come nearby loved how they would jam (for what seemed like) 20 minutes each song and it just got better and better good fucking times on a side note, its been raining everyday and I've been working 12's since I've been back and its making the post-sasquatch depression a lot worse
