I was looking at these as well but then figured that they'd be playing Bumbershoot, not Sasquatch. Unfortunately the Flight of the Conchords tour doesn't start until June 11 so it doesn't seem to make sense that they would play Sasquatch two weeks before the start. Too bad though. Where would Mackelmore land? Saturday? Looks like Friday. He's in Portland on Saturday and San Francisco on Tuesday, so I don't really see him coming back up to poop The Cure or Florence on Sunday or Monday. But I could realistically see him knocking Disclosure out of their headlining slot, much to the dismay of some.

I don't really see it happening either, but it would prove two of my earlier theories: 1. Disclosure are not really headliners yet, and 2. Just because Macklemore wasn't on the lineup doesn't mean he isn't playing.

If it's true that Macklemore will be added to the festival on Friday and added in as a headliner (knocking down Disclosure), then would that make it two hip hop/rap headliners for friday?

Fuck! There's a big add to boost ticket sales. I bet the people that will buy tickets just to see Macklmore will be pleasant to be around for 4 days.

I got tickets to Macklemore's free show at Neumos last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I'd be happy to see him at Sasquatch.

Booooooooooo, Macklemore. First you come to the Apple Store at the same time as me and make my ipod fix nearly impossible. Then you play a show down the street from my main grass spot on a Friday and make me wait in line in the rain. Now you invade my extra special 10th Sasquatch?!?! Now it's personal.
Macklemore?? I'll take Mackleless, please.

That kind of misses the point. Bands don't play Seattle and Sasquatch consecutively. If they didn't have a Seattle date I would surely bet on it.

How about The National? They'll be at FPSF in Houston with some sasquatch bands the weekend after sasquatch. www.fpsf.com/lineup/

I agree that it's too soon for The National to return, but it's only been 3 since since Macklemore headlined and I was hoping it'd be at least another 3 until he returned. This of course is all based on the likelihood of him getting that late add due to his tour schedule.

They are playing in Toronto, CA (yes i know it's on the other side) the weekend of their Houston show. So it's plausible no?

Plausibility takes a major hit when you're talking a headliner artist that just played the festival two years ago. I'd say the probability of them playing is close to zero.

So squamish is cancelled.
Theory: whatever division of live nation that does festivals is not doing great.
2014 is the year the took over Squamish and spent tons of money on headliners and had moderate attendance. Also they year they attempted Julysquatch (never forget) and lost a bunch of money cancelling it. Since then they had Squamish and Sasquatch not sell out in 2015.
Now they are trying to consolidate because having competing festivals in the same region makes no sense when neither of them sell out. Meanwhile HUKA is taking losses on Pemberton (I'm assuming) in hopes of building up a loyal fanbase.
I think there is room for both Pemberton and Sasquatch to thrive but right now the advantage is with Pemberton since tickets are so much cheaper with the exchange rate. That being said the low exchange rate hurts their ability to book international acts since they generally get paid in America bucks. It will be interesting to see what Pemberton can pull off, but this is probably a smart move by live nation.
