What I'm really wondering is Coachella has McCartney, Bonnaroo has the Boss, what does Sasquatch have?

Whatever band or side project or solo adventure Bob Mould is currently working on would be great and kind of likely. I'm just so happy this board isn't planning Sasquatch, and I'm really hoping it's not the voice of the the majority, though I kind of feel like the personal fantasies might be misrepresenting the buried ambitions each poster has for the festival, because apparently 99% of message board posters couldn't program a festival worth shit, so more props to the people who do and I am very glad they don't listen to the bullshit people vomit out here. AKA I truly hope believe and wish the final product will blow away the altrock dipshit expectations of this board, Pearl Jam aside because I'm on that wagon, it's fucking Pearl Jam and they've worked for that spot, but what I'm saying is that this board has people who seem to think that Band Who Had One or Two Cool Songs on the Radio When I Was in Middleschool would be great, and maybe that's because The Cure and REM got everyone confused about what the exact intentions were for this festival, which from my personal trips and what I gather is a catering to underrepresented music lovers, who dig really underrepresented music, and don't listen to just ANTYHING, for fuck's sake, who don't ask for Any Band With a Radio Hit, so let's stop all this Oasis nonsense and really hope for something great. You agree with me. I know you do because I'll see you at Sasquatch! and you'll be being happy that it's not these crap bands playing. A+ poster, no sarcasm.

I would like to post something, and take it with a grain of salt here, as it is just my opinion, but I hope that there are at least a few people that agree with my line of thought.
I have been noticing a trend with Sasquatch line-ups over the course of its existence. The line-ups more and more often seem to be concentrated with electronic, DJ and dance based indie bands and less on the organic, blues and guitar based bands. I am not knocking these electronic bands, I would just prefer to see the organic bands, and I am hoping there are more of you like me out there than this message board suggests. Perhaps all those with like interests as me are busy hugging trees as opposed to following message boards (to each his own, i guess?)
Of course this is not only a trend of Sasquatch, but also of other like Bonnaroo, which originally catered specifically to the hippie, organic culture. However I personally would love to see less 'Super Furry Animals' and more 'Fleet Foxes' at this festival. More 'She & Him' and Less 'Matt & Kim'.
My Favorite line-up was by far the Saturday 2006 show (when the hailstorm hit). Anything comparable to that would make me quite happy. So if I could make a wish list it may include these bands, which have been for the most part omitted by the majority of the board:
Phish Hold Steady MMJ Guster Tragically Hip Wilco Ben Kweller Tallest Man On Earth Tea Leaf Green Drive By Truckers Ryan Montbleau Band Ween
When I think of a festival scene, especially at the Gorge, these are the bands that come to my mind. I may get flamed for my opinion, but I hope that this opinion was considered by the organizers. I also realize that there are festivals out there that better suit my interests, such as ACL and Rothbury, I am just hoping I can stay close to home and still see the band that would put a smile on my face.
Furthermore, they may be Hippie-ish acts, or at least what I might call flaccid rock (but I love it anyways), but each and everyone would put on an awesome show, that would neither bore nor depress the attendee (like an Iron & Wine, for example)
Just my two cents, any response is welcomed.

I love Phish.
I think Sasquatch is at its best when it mixes genres. I'll take a line-up that includes Super Furry Animals, Blue Scholars, Belle and Sebastian, Muse, Phish, and Wilco anyday.

I kinda agree with what your saying there. Some good choices in there bradberad12. I too would love to see the Holdy Steady and the Tragically Hip again. I loved seeing the Hip after surviving that aweful hail storm. And seeing MMJ, Ben Kweller and Ween would just make my day.

I also agree. Especially with Phish, i think they would fit in with the sasquatch feel very well, and since they are making there comback tour around that time, just mabe we will see them!

Bleh, I've never been into the whole jam thing. My first Sasquatch was 07 for several reasons:
Arcade Fire Bad Brains Beastie Boys Hold Steady Ozomatli Manu Chao Two Gallants Interpol Patrick Wolf Smoosh Incredibly Strange Wrestling

I'm impressed that you managed to post that list on this board, since you're clearly A.) consuming far too many shrooms and B.) in the mid-1990's. Also C.) probably preoccupied with a hackey sack. Where's Widespread Panic on that list?

The irony of your post is poignant, considering Sasquatch's headliners in past years,
2008: The Cure and R.E.M., (can you say 1980's?)
2007: Bjork and Beastie Boys (can you say 1980's and 1990's?)
Futhermore, Ryan Montbleau, Tallest man on Earth, members of Tea Leaf green and Ben Kweller were all hitting puberty in the mid 90's, not making popular music. And you sir, were evidently in diapers.

right there with you brad, Even a couple of these bands would make me happy, Specifically TLG, Sasquatch isn't a "jam" festival i get that, but Keep It Diverse! I'd ad Galactic to that list, that would be sweet! Oh, and interstate your a pretty big tool for dissing someone's wish list. one of those holier than thou indie rock types-- I'm sure there will be more bands in the lineup that you want to see, as compared to brad, so you should be happy for that.

Ready for the last headliner? It's Jane's Addiction. So... Tool on Friday, all by themselves, and Jane's Addiction, Morrisey, and Oasis on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (though not necessarily in that order).

Morrissey will be out of the country, in the UK. Best to check Pollstar before making up things.

Why the fuck would they have an entire day with just Tool playing? There is absolutely no point to doing that whatsoever. There is zero chance the festival will be 4 days. you can quote me on that.

Gov't Mule would be a cool addition. I am still praying for NIN, Lights in Sky tour setup would look really cool at the Gorge. Few more weeks....ugh
