I definitely want BoH there this year. And sure there's a chance -- they haven't played since 2006, have they?

Yeah Band of Horses havent played since 2006 on the wookie stage. I know they dont really have anything going on around that time. So i think they could be a perfect fit for sasquatch as well as the sasquatch vibe.

I'd love to see BoH again. In 06' they had a lot of technical difficulties because of the rain, and they still put on a great show. I think they have a new album out this year, and they have Seattle roots. So, I don't see why there wouldn't be a good chance of them being there.......... Agreed, a dance tent doesn't have to happen, but I can't stop thinking about it. I just think it's pointless for them to shovel out effort every year on things like a movie tent or a comedy tent, or a video game tent. When they could just make another area for live music (It is a MUSIC FESTIVAL)........... In the end, I don't care if I'm in a tent, on a hill, or in a field. As long as there's good music.

Comedy is at every festival, big deal. The tent they put it in was only used for VIPs and the night bands previously. Bonnaroo keeps a movie tent. Big deal. It's not that I'm against a dance tent, but I don't see it necessary. The video game building is there all year and paid to exist these days through Xbox. The tent that houses comedy is there all year. The movie tent was for the Flaming Lips and it was their deal. Only other movies I've seen there are the trailers when you leave and the movies shown to premium campers. The reason they have things besides music are to give you OPTIONS. Every festival does this, not just Sasquatch. If they can fit a dance tent in, have fun. Throw Crystal Castles there, I'll probably show up. But find a place for it. Where the Lips had their circus tent could work. But I still don't see it to be a necessity.

a dance tent would be nice, more diversity, but it's not a necessity

There's a pretty big area where they've shown movies for the past 2 years (not Christmas on Mars related). I remember Beowulf one night last year as I stumbled back to my tent. That would work for a Dance Tent.
Also, the Comedy Tent was a joke (no pun intended). The food tent for VIPs was set right next to it and my girlfriend and I were having issues all weekend long getting in and out to eat.
The funniest thing was most of the comedians ended up in the VIP secition for the mainstage and Tim Meadows was smoking weed next to me and got really depressed during The Cure. Good times.

I see a lot of people are hoping that the whole Oasis / Weezer thing doesn't happen. Last August I went to see Oasis, basically because my wife really liked them. So I went into the show with pretty low expectations. I really hadn't listened to anything recent by them, so I went and got a bunch of their newer music, and had a listen. I actually enjoyed quite a bit of their new stuff, and the show absolutely blew me away. VERY IMPRESSED!!! They totally won me over. I would be very happy to see them again, cause I do think they would surprise alot of others as they surprised me.
Also, just as a side note.....Ryan Adams opened for them at the show I was at. I was pretty excited to see this guy. Ryan Adams however did not win me over.

I have an issue with Weezer, I don't find them interesting.

some people were mentioning that they hope the flaming lips will be back this year, I asked Wayne during his live chat hosted on myspace and they said they will not be back this year, they might be a good bet for 2010/11 festival though, and he did mention that he would come back to the festival again just not 2009

yeah it wouldn't make any sense for the flaming lips to be there 2 years in a row, since they'd be taking up a headlining slot again. i'd love to see them at a future festival though, they were great last year.

I would love to see the Lips back again, even though they said they were not going to be here. Since they are the best show on earth, i would love to see them every year honestly.

Whatever band or side project or solo adventure Bob Mould is currently working on would be great and kind of likely.
I'm just so happy this board isn't planning Sasquatch, and I'm really hoping it's not the voice of the the majority, though I kind of feel like the personal fantasies might be misrepresenting the buried ambitions each poster has for the festival, because apparently 99% of message board posters couldn't program a festival worth shit, so more props to the people who do and I am very glad they don't listen to the bullshit people vomit out here.
AKA I truly hope believe and wish the final product will blow away the altrock dipshit expectations of this board, Pearl Jam aside because I'm on that wagon, it's fucking Pearl Jam and they've worked for that spot, but what I'm saying is that this board has people who seem to think that Band Who Had One or Two Cool Songs on the Radio When I Was in Middleschool would be great, and maybe that's because The Cure and REM got everyone confused about what the exact intentions were for this festival, which from my personal trips and what I gather is a catering to underrepresented music lovers, who dig really underrepresented music, and don't listen to just ANTYHING, for fuck's sake, who don't ask for Any Band With a Radio Hit, so let's stop all this Oasis nonsense and really hope for something great.
You agree with me. I know you do because I'll see you at Sasquatch! and you'll be being happy that it's not these crap bands playing.

I note your sarcasm but negate your intentions based on personal biases owing mostly to misinformation (at your fault). For example the dipshit adjective referred to tastes and not personality, and overall I was very optimistic about the reception of this board to the final schedule and implied mainly that the board underestimated the potential actual line-up. Very positive person with a very comfortable life. Though you were probably in a hurry, so it's okay you passed assumption based on limited interactions. It is the internet, after all.

I should leave due to unreasonableness.

I've got it on good authority (I book shows in Southern Alberta) that Monotonix (insane band from Isreal who are a perfect fit for Sasquatch) are going to be in the general vicinity during Sasquatch.

But in a way I go to Sasquatch to see the likes of Harvey Danger or Nada Surf or P.U.S.A because they did have a couple hits when i was in middle school and they've vastly expanded their catalogue since. Truely though if you want the obscure great bands like Deerhoof or Extra Golden or DFA 1979 you need to attend a SXSW or Sled Island up here in good Ol' Canada.
