Its weird. For all of the other music I like, I understand that other's might not... that people have their own preferences and thats normal and fine.
But with Tool its different.... Like, cognitively I can say that I understand peoples preferences differ... but on a deeper level, it just doesn't make sense. How can anybody not feel what I feel when I listen to Tool? I know its probably a totally irrational feeling... but its there.

In all my life, I've met one person who actually said he didn't like them and it genuinely confused me. I had a have a long talk with him to try to understand, but it still didn't make sense. In the end, it pretty much boiled down to "It isn't black metal, man." Which then made me feel stupid for having such a long conversation with such a closed minded fuck.

Bonnaroo's presale is $235 for 4 days with a consistently top-notch lineup. Motherfuckers.

Bonnaroo's presale is $235 for 4 days with a consistently top-notch lineup. Motherfuckers. And they have a payment plan. Check the cost of living for Tennessee v Washington and you will see why the costs are so low. Tennessee is literally one of the bottom 3 for cost of living because average salaries in Tennessee are about 17,000 less than in Washington state. I lived there for 3 years and the ONLY reason I'd go back to that shitstick state would be Bonnaroo.

I generally don't do well in heat. Coachella had great weather last year and I still had to miss a few hours of Saturday hiding in the shade slamming water. From what I understand Bonnaroo can be sometimes ok and sometimes hot as Africa. I could not handle the latter.
If I was to do it, I would need an air conditioned RV to have a chance of enjoying myself.

I've been to two Bonnaroos now and went into it thinking the heat would kill me but it actually wasn't all that bad. Even when I was camping in district 9. Coachella was by far way more brutal heat wise. Granted we went the 2nd weekend when it was between 100-107 every day but still if you've made it through a toasty Coachella weekend you can handle Bonnaroo. Can and should! It's such an incredible festival. Well organized, caters to the festival goers wants/needs, amazing staff of volunteers who love the music, custom/brilliant collaborations and an immensely friendly and energetic crowd. Everyone should give it a shot at least once. If it were set at the gorge it'd be the greatest festival in the world.

I just checked and Pemberton earlybird tickets are sold out. Advanced are now $279 + $89 camping. That's more than Sasquatch. Is there really that much leftover demand? Do people realize that it is being put on by totally different people this time?
Then again maybe earlybird tickets were limited to a few thousand and they really didn't sell that many.

Man, I'm now considering Pemberton a bit more as I won't be going to Squamish anymore ( ). That is effing pricey though.

Bonnaroo's second presale has sold out in less than an hour. It fits 150,000 people. Sasquatch has yet to Sell out itit's presale.
Jesus I wonder if Jivenation is paying attention.

I wonder if the return of Pemberton and the expansion of Squamish will actually hurt Sasquatch ticket sales this year. My guess is no, but I bet it (err, they) will take a longer time to sell out this year.

Have presale tickets ever really sold out before? I remember in one of the last few years someone said they couldn't get tickets a few days before Dec 31, but it never sold out before December.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with Squamish/Pemberton. The Sasquatch lineup(s) will come out first, so if they aren't amazing I could see a lot of people holding out for the other lineups. Once everyone figures out that Squamish got Arcade Fire I wouldn't be surprised if some people bail on Sasquatch (Julysquatch in particular) for Squamish.

I'm officially out for Squamish this year, as two of my favourite people ever are getting hitched that weekend and the ferry makes it harder to pull a Pea. Sad to miss out though!
