I liked the way it was set up before as far as having the artists playing smaller venues etc, but when it's like that it's a little crazy for out of towners to navigate. This way somebody like me can get a nearby hotel and be set. I have found Portland to have some of the most fucked up traffic I've ever had to deal with too which makes me not want to drive around myself.

I can only imagine what Eric Prydz has cooking for a live show, that guy a genius. There are also a few well deserved spots by some great artists like Luciano on the DJ headliner lineup, but that is countered by cookie cutter cheese like Krewella. At $490 after fees this is probably the most expensive festival there is. I have heard it is quite the cluster fuck too.

I can't even comprehend what Eric Prydz HOLO is. I bet it has something to do with holograms. He used some crazy hologram production in his Epic shows.

Seriously considering checking this out. There aren't very many opportunities to see some of these artists in the States much less all in one place.

That's Maysquatch weekend, dude. Yeah, that is definitely one of the negatives. Also it isn't very cheap to fly to Detroit. Positives? I can get 2 tickets for the cost of a single ticket to Sasquatch, and there will never be a dull moment at this festival as far as music. I can already tell there will always be more than one artist I'll want to see at any given moment. I think this is the greatest techno/underground dance festival in the U.S. I guess it will probably come down to if I can/want to spend the extra travel money, and how Maysquatch lines up. Come next month I might go out on a limb and buy the Sasquatch 2 weekend pass if they are still available.

it isn't very cheap to fly to Detroit. I would think, with the current state of the economy in Detroit, they'd be so excited you actually want to go there that they'd comp you a plane ticket.

Any of you Canadians (or anyone else) ever been to this Boonstock festival? It used to be in Alberta, but this year they are moving it to Penticton, which is literally like an hour from my house. It looks like past lineups have only had about one or two acts worth watching. But it's so close, I'm thinking it might be worth checking out. boonstock.ca

Basically the Roo Clue hints at:
1. Washed Out (Portlandia's themesong providers)
2. Portlandia (like they did at Sasquatch, comedy appearance.)

Man I hope Joy Formidable comes back to Sasquatch this year. That technical fuck-up at Bumbershoot really technically fucked up the amount of time I got to spend dancing to them.

This dropped today. I think we'll be seeing some Julysquatch crossovers. Especially from the middle of the lineup.
