Sure am! I think I'm a bit more excited for Neon Indian though. I have a weird issue with female singers. I do like Sleigh Bells though, I just like Neon Indian more.

I have a weird issue with Neon Indian being so half-assed and boring.

in case anyone is interested NPR is streaming a live performances of the antlers playing their new record straight through right now. They're on song 4 but I think they're going to archive it so it'll be up to listen to tomorrow www.npr.org/series/sxsw/

I like it a lot so far but its obviously hard to tell when you're listening to a stream of a live performance, especially for a band as complex as the antlers. It's kind of contradictory but it's at once moodier than Hospice but less melodramatic (mostly do to the lead singer actually singing normally compared to the theatrical vocals of Hospice).
I don't think it's going to end up being better than Hospice but it doesn't really sound like a sophomore slump either

That's good to hear. I'm actually going to miss those overdramatic vocals a bit if he doesn't end up using them on this album though. The way he used his voice to close out Hospice is one of the most chilling ends to an album that I've ever heard.

actually right after i posted that they played the closing track which was beautiful. The falsetto is definitely still there but it's used more for texture than it was on Hospice, I thought it brought a nice balance to the record
also listening to these commentators talk about the performance afterward makes me really glad I don't have to describe what I like about music for 10 minutes uninterrupted, I don't think anyone can sound profound in a situation like that

I find that Comedy Death Ray Radio is hit and miss, but for the most part I end up laughing my ass off at some point in the show.
