I cannot wait to get the album next Tuesday. Doing my best to hold of listening to it beforehand but after reading these comments it's getting harder to hold off. R.E.M. is my second favorite band of all time and I personally think they are not capable of putting out a bad album. I listened to Reveal and Up earlier today and forgot how good those two albums are. I think I am now going to end my night with a little New Adventures in Hi-Fi! R.E.M. are definitely one of my all-time favorites too, but they are absolutely capable of putting out really, really shitty records - Reveal being the worst offender, and Up being right behind it. The bulk of the 00's were not kind to R.E.M.; by my estimation, they did not recover from the loss of Bill Berry until yesterday morning. |
