I recently moved, and decided I needed to finally move forward with my audio system upgrade. I didn't even want to go through the trouble of setting up my old Sony surround sound system. I decided to keep my cheap turntable for the time being, but needed an amp and speakers. After some research I found I could just get some active speakers and connect them to my turntable directly. I went with the Audioengine A5+ speakers. I'm still in the process of breaking in these bad boys. They sound good. Next I will get an Audioengine S8 sub to go with the speakers, and a white Pro-Ject Debut Carbon. After that configuration is complete, I think I will be happy for a while. You'll need to get a pre-amp for the Pro-ject Debut Carbon though, right? Because it doesn't have a built in pre-amp, and the A5+ speakers only include a power amp? I am also getting a Pro-ject Debut Carbon turntable - should arrive next week. I'm running it through a simple Onkyo integrated amp and passive 2-channel Pioneer speakers, the floor-standing Andrew Jones ones. Next up on my last is a AptX bluetooth DAC, and then some RF wireless headphones, and I'll be in like Flynt.

There will be something beautiful in 2014 about middle-aged dudes playing dirtyclean desert rock on top of a river gorge.

Geno is right. They grow to become stage-monsters and eat the light. It's an incredible show.
Also will be your chance to watch weenie freak out.

Yeah I got ripped for talking shit about Marklemore before 'squatch last year. I've been consistent in my derision.

Audrey and I got our tickets for Robyn in SF in June. Beyond excited. It's the rare show where I'm trying to recruit all of my friends to go, hoping to roll deep and go fucking nuts.

He's saying that he has such little faith in Huka Entertainment that he wouldn't be surprised if an advertised sneak peek (presumably of the lineup) actually came out after the lineup was widely released. Because so far they've got a terrible track record of actually following through on things. Got it. The joke My head

Good domain name to buy. But I have a feeling there are a million web sites with what you're describing. Go look.

Also, Pemberton lineup comes out Tuesday, so it would be interesting for them to do a sneak PEEK on Wednesday or Thursday, unless it's a sneak PEEK of something besides the lineup. Not sure what that means.

I bought a Pemberton early bird ticket back in November. I'm not going, but my email is still tied to it, so I'll get the "sneak peak" email. I'll update this thread once I get the email. Based on how Pemberton operates, I'm expecting the "sneak peak" email to come out on Wednesday or Thursday. twitter.com/StealthMountain

And then sometimes they just announce an album is coming out in 10 days with no prior warning. That's only if you're not paying attention. The dudes at atease knew about almost every track on that album before it was announced. Radiohead fanboys are nearly unparalleled.

King of Limbs is better every time I hear it. Honestly, we've gotten so much from Radiohead, so much more good music than almost any band ever, without having to wade through shit like with most bands' careers, I feel like anything they make at this point is just a bonus. Just more dessert.

I don't know, Future Islands are a tight live unit chock full of energy and everyone says the Knife live is a big practical joke. So I don't know, man.

Future Islands tomorrow night in Spokompton. Lucky. I'm debating about seeing them in SF next week. They'll be at Coachella, but it'll be a short daytime set. And I've been watching live videos, like this one, which make me want to see a full set.
