Though far from a sure thing, these dates are promising ... Sets up nicely for a Coachella appearance, which could (hopefully) be followed up by a trip to the Gorge? moderat.fm/tour-dates-2014/

Panda Bear for Banana Shack curator! Who's with me? soundcloud.com/lux/pandabeargreenraymixDude curated a festival in Lisbon and made a mini-mix of some of the artists, including my main man Eric Copeland. Pretty much all of the modern electronic music I listen to is because of Panda Bear. I would be all about an Animal Collective / Panda Bear double booking ...

They're a pretty solid guess at this point, although those European dates are a little concerning for a Maysquatch appearance ... Maybe they'll show up in July?

Anyone think Tycho might come back to us this year? I haven't been keeping too close of an eye on his news but with the release of the (really amazing) new track a few months back maybe a record or EP soon to come? He's also been doing really small Cali/southwest tours so it could be nice timing for a larger tour in May or July. He hasn't been this way in awhile (at least to Portland). Saw him in Salt Lake City about a month ago, and he said that they had just finished mastering their new album and that it would be out in "a few months." I think they're a strong possibility to play a shit load of festivals this summer, and Sasquatch could very well be one of them.

My original list did not include the Field, but definitely should have included the Field. I would love to see The Field ... He rarely tours, so it would be a pretty special get if Snacks could pull it off. That being said, Bruce Springsteen just announced a new album, set to be released in January. Could May-squatch turn into Boss-squatch? Probably won't happen, but a guy's gotta dream ...

Haim and Mogwai can probably be added in for Maysquatch.

In the new round of dates that were just announced he's returning to a number of cities where he's already played in the last 6 months or so, and January is a bit early to invoke some kind of radius clause ... It's a long shot, for sure, and I agree that it would be a pretty drastic departure from Sasquatch's established pattern of headliners, but there is a big fat gap from mid-May to early-July that leaves room for an appearance at either of the two Sasquatch iterations. Not sure that I would love it, but it's not outside the realm of possibility.

I would love to see them book CHVRCHES again, bummed I missed them last year.
As for bands that should be / are definitely releasing new material in the near future: CHROMEO always makes for a good dance party. SPOON would be a more than solid subheadliner. It almost seems like a foregone conclusion that THE HEAD AND THE HEART will be on the poster for one of the two weekends. THE BLACK KEYS were reportedly in the studio last year, and would make for a popular Mumford-esque headliner. Any of Jonny Jewel's projects (who are constantly releasing new music) would be amazing, though CHROMATICS would be particularly awesome.

Alright, it's about time to get this conversation started again. I'm thinking that the move to two three-day festivals will allow for Zacks to book bigger headliners than we've seen at Sasquatch in the past. So, these seem like attainable headliners/subheadliners that could show up in some combination or another between the May and July festivals.
HEADLINERS: Arcade Fire, Atoms for Peace (Thom Yorke at the Gorge!), Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, Florence + The Machine, [INSERT POPULAR EDM ACT HERE], Maybe Kanye West or Drake since the hip-hop headliner clearly contributed to the fast sell-out last year?
SUBS: Neutral Milk Hotel, My Bloody Valentine, The National, Foster the People, The Knife, Frank Ocean, TV on the Radio, Queens of the Stone Age
That being said, I feel like we have less to go off than the previous few years because no ones knows how they'll handle the two-weekend expansion. This really amounts to little more than rampant speculation at this point, but what else do I have to tide me over until May?
