they finnaly got some more people up there for the last night but at that point it was already to late. You think? That's really pointless considering Monday was the day security didn't give a fuck the most. It all makes sense now that you mentioned that you hire out to CWU because do you really think those guys care for other people's well being or belongings (doubt it), they would mostly be in it for the power trips I would assume, hence why you get some security guards that take their job entirely way too seriously like you stated. They dont usually hire out of CWU they just did this time because another employee is friends with them.

there are more tickets sold for sasquatch and warped tour because there are multiple stages. and i agree with you about it being securities job to make sure people arnt ransacking tents and yes it is bullshit that we had the low numbers that weekend...what happened is the company hired some of the CWU football players (i think 11 of them) and they promised to pull double shifts all weekend and after the first day they all gave up and went home, and those 11 people would have made 3 roving teams and a 5 man response team. they finnaly got some more people up there for the last night but at that point it was already to late.

yea i know the smashing of glassware sucks i know it can be expensive and so do my bosses but its just protocol. the most problematic are the drunk people that decide to start massive party trains, and the ones on drugs are generally pretty chill (depending on their drug of choice) and yes we were aware of all the tent robbing and we were doing as much as we could, we were very short handed on rovers this year some nights we only had one roving crew and a 2 man response team to cover the whole campground (quite the challenge if you ask me) many from past years quit or didnt want to work. sasquatch is a huge event, 20,000+ people 400 security less than 50 of which are in the campground and less than 10 of which are rovers. But to answer more specifically no it is not security's job to protect your personal property although we do try to catch the culprits to the best of our ability plus we have to catch the person in the act of the crime.

That's what I thought. Maybe next time we should just make sure she goes in a line with a guy because I honestly think that it has to be the same sex, as far as women are concerned, in order for them to make any kind of physical contact. Then again I could be entirely wrong about that assumption... Definitely this. I was the designated pipe smuggler because I'd just put it down my shirt and go in a line with a guy. They'd check my bag and let me pass. Worked everytime. Of course, considering this is the thread with security, I'd never do it again... im not here to gather information for future use i am simply here to inform the public. anything said on this forum will not go beyond me...to be honest i understand that everyone is there to have a good time and sometimes certain substances making having that good time even better, and my recommendation to everyone is dont bring a piece of glass that means everything to you because not everyone is like me and will tell you "put it away and if i see it again im taking it" they will just take it...and just so everyone knows when a bong or pipe or whatever type of device you are using is taken it is smashed and thrown away.

I have been a security guard since sasquatch last year and i believe i worked 5 or 6 gorge events last year.
i said not to ask any identifying information. and like i said earlier the only thing i will tell you about me personally is that i mainly work in the campground it is very rare i work in the amphitheater
and to the supervisor question, some people actually dont know. Alot of the people who work for the company are very dumb and lack common sense (not a requirement apparently)
ad no not all supervisors rock mullets.

Did you hear about Antelope Man in passing with the other yellow shirts? If you did what did you hear. What was the craziest story you heard/had from a yellow shirt? I'm so curious about all of this! no i did not hear about antelpoe man from a coworker i just found out about that today. i hear so many stories that its hard to keep track one of my co workers is really short and his head is like a magnet for thrown beer bottles.

questions: You're a yellow shirt. Who gets hired for the blue shirts? Who were the people in black roaming the campground? How many people were arrested this year? What happens when you get arrested? What are the penalties with being arrested? Do 'they' tell you to be really strict with people, or do they hint toward being less aggressive? Have you personally found people doing drugs? Do you personally like the music you hear at sasquatch? Do you ever have any deserters who take off their shirts and party? How do people in security view the festival goers? Are you hired locally or through seattle? 1 Yellow and blue shirts are one and the same but generally you have to be 21 to work BEV. Control which is a blue shirt. and supervisors where blue as well but it just says supervisor 2 I dont know about the people in black the sheriffs where green 3 i dont know the official number of arrests 4 generally when you are arrested you are prosecuted, but being put in handcuffs by security doesnt always mean you are going to be arrested i may just be to subdue a patron. 5 the penalty suits the crime 6 If the patron is cool generally we are cool but there are some who do take their job way to seriously 7 yes i have found people doing drugs and i generally say " put it away and if i see it again im going to take it" 8 some of it yes Skrillex was badass 9 its happened but not very often 10 well i personally view them as a customer 11 our company is based out of portland OR. but we work venues all over washington oregan and idaho i presonally am for eastern washington and to they guy who thinks im impersonating a security guard. They take our shirts each night and wash them and we are not allowed to keep them they are owned but live nation. no i have not tazed or arrested anyone...standard security are not allowed to carry a tazer or handcuffs only the sheriffs carry tazers and guns like most law enforcement

well as I said- instead of questions why don't you just tell us what you know. Maybe try to clear up what you think re: people's stories of abuse and how much of it you think is just the fact that they were wasted and being much more disruptive than they think they remember? I will admit that sometimes power is more than abused by some individuals. In the case of the antelope guy it seems to me like he was high on something way stronger than weed which the sheriffs are quite lenient on but when it gets to that stage of intoxication they are not only arresting him because he is high, he was trespassing in which case the owner of the land has the right to shoot so the did have his safety in mind even though yes excessive force was used.

actually now that i think about it there are capacity limits even in open areas and there are also safety concerns that come into play with large crowds.

Why exactly did they need to block off the front area of the main stage after a certain amount of people were inside? It seemed unnecessary and just made security's job a lot harder than it needed to be with all the pushing. i will admit i do not know everything and that is one thing i dont know i am in no way a shot caller

actually i just stumbled upon the site...every year there are pictures and videos of security guards either abusing the patrons or other abuses of power. and i agree with most of what you guys have to say (I am not one of the dicks im cool if your cool). and i just felt that it would be a cool if i was able to actually talk to some of the people that were there. and give advise on how to keep security from hassling you. because thats what i do at the festival anyway.
