This. Foster the People were super disappointing. I couldn't hear a word and the band sounded like they were playing through a tin can. Where were you at? I was at those picnic tables right in front of that soy joy tent and we bailed after 2 or 3 songs. Bummer. Haha...that's funny, I mighta seen you leave. The four of us were right in between the two picnic tables. If you remember seeing tall dude in a cowboy hat (of all the things to remember : , well, I was next to him.

4. Foster the people- only heard a few of their songs before this, but they blew me away- such a high energy show. Couldn't believe how huge the crowd was, luckily we had a spot close to the front. ugh...really? Late start. Sound problems. The 15th band I saw with a big bass drum. A lead singer with shoulder epilepsy. Really, it was impossible for them to live up to the hype so I can sympathize with them a little; but even so, they were in the bottom 10% of the shows this week. I was bored. Hopefully you got their early enough to see White Denim. Now that was a fucking tight set. Me and Mr. Tweedy agree on that.

Got it. I understand that no one likes being told what to do, that makes sense. My point was more about the negativity--I don't see that as necessary. If you're saying it's just part of the way it works here, then I think I'm out. It is kind of hilarious. Your posts are so typical of a newbie that lasts one week. Your posts rhyme off like a checklist. Listen, I have defended ya thus far, so I would feel cognitive dissonance if I didn't continue to. Maybe meeting friendly d has made me a nicer person. If ya want to stick around, I advise you to: i) take the ribbing at first with silence or wit, not defensiveness ii) lurk for a little while, and post only occasionally. We can't all be JWW's. iii) stay away from anything bro'ish (i.e. hooking up with girls) - the board doesn't take too well to it (save for maybe excessive drinking). If this is what you want to talk a whole lot about, then you are right, you dont want to be on this board. Ditto for anything racist or sexist. iv) know your shit if you are going to join in a conversation. People are smart here and posters are way more knowledgeable that I'd ever imagined. That why lurking (which I do a hell of a lot more than posting) is so entertaining. for an example of this, start here: sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=bestthreadsarebest&action=display&thread=1248cheers, brad

So I started my summer internship today, which includes just a gnarly commute. It's basically keeping me off the internet in ways I'm not entirely used to. So I get home tonight, have dinner, get online, and wistfully catch up on the top three threads in this board. And I'm getting kind of sad! Because I missed being on this board way too much. And then I opened this thread and I'm actually dictating this post to my neighbor who's typing it up because I'm too busy seizing on the floor with absolute douche chills to get my hands steady on a keyboard jesus christ dude are you serious look at what you posted and reconsider everything I8, you get more douchechills then a promiscuous 1960's catholic chick who likes to take cold baths. Live and let live, dude.

Also; my friend got a pic of this sign and it fucking cracked me up. Even if their shit did get stolen, at least they had a sense of humor about it. I really like the concept; but it woulda been nice if they were smarter and didn't stoop to homophobic insults.

Hey all! I had an amazing time at sasquatch--but there's a topic I've been curious to get other people's thoughts on: How easy or difficult do you think it is to hook up with someone at Sasquatch? Many of the people I went with were in relationships. While I met tons of people over the course of the weekend(many attractive ladies in the mix), everyone is doing their own thing and moving from stage to stage, meeting people and then usually moving on. So for a dude who wouldn't have minded meeting a woman over the course of the weekend, it ended up being a bit frustrating. Can anyone relate to my experience? Maybe that's just me? I'd be curious to hear people's thoughts either way. Thanks! Although it's a taboo topic, I believe it's worth discussing. For many single men it's constantly brought up so I feel like it's worthy of a serious answer. Unfortunately for single men, a stigma exists that an awesome experience in a co-ed environment must include hooking up with a girl. This is particularly prevalent at Sasquatch, as it is a laissez-faire, free experience with a lot of attractive people around. However, Although I have always found Sasquatch! to be open, interactive, mind-expanding, incredbly fun, intimate and even sexy, what it isn't is Hedonistic. There are are lots of reasons for this: - it's dirty - it's busy - You are camping in a tent in the darkness - It's really cold at night - Many people are on substances that inhibit sexual drive - at the end of the night (when traditional hooking up happens) you are absolutely wiped of energy and could think of no better thing than to sleep in comfort, not awkardly next to some near-stranger. As you can see, if you are trying to hook up, you have got a lot going against you. I have seen it happen, but don't expect it to; you will likely be disappointed (believe me, I've been there). Even if it does happen, more than likely it will be awkward and less than satisfactory. To relate a personal experience, this year a friend of mine and I came to the festival, just the two of us. So we were looking to make friends to share the experience. To our luck, we parked next to a couple of groups of really super cool people. We made friends easily, and ended up spending the majority of our time with 2 awesomely cool, smart and attractive women from Vancouver. Shared a ton of laughs, got drunk, got high, danced ,etc...and had a truly meaningful experience. Never once acted on any sexual impulses. My friend Cowboy Dan that I travelled with, whom this was at his first festival experience, said this weekend may have been the best of his life so far. My advice for Sasquatch next year; don't worry about the single male stigma. Meet people, dance, stay positive and you'll have a good time. Leave the hooking up for another weekend.

What an amazing Sasquatch! I just wanted to say how great it was to meet everyone on this board at the Gorge. I spent most of my days with Gramma, Stormy, Know, Gibbons, and Souly and they are just the most amazing, kind hearted and funny people I've met. It was like we seamlessly resumed some sort of incredible friendship we all must've had with each other in some former life. I had a total blast with them all festival long. Many fond memories. I also got to; - Get a bazzillion hugs from Pea- The world's coolest pair of glasses ever to be made from EmptyFox and Bforeman- Got serenaded by SWITCH and his guitar - Hung out with Cat and Stamper a couple of times, they are some seriously rad people who have world class hula hoop skills and came out to Mon the Biff with us! - Wolfhat gave me some delicious homemade banana bread - Shared in some drinking fun with Chaco and Zepher and their jungle juice - Dance some serious womp with the one and only Womp Womp!- Got to have a group chat with Lumpy. We missed you Lump! - Met Dontoro and his amazing glow suit - Met J-Dawg and his sweet glowing hat - Gave the tallest human on earth, Drew, a hug. Drew is seriously taller than a Sasquatch. - Met an IRL Snorlax. Wat up Snorlax! - Danced to some Das Racists with Bradberad (seriously wicked dude!) - Hung out with Pvmtchic[/b - Chilled with our spandexed boarder HecticDialectic who was in fine spandex form - and also got to meet another boarder who I should leave unnamed. It was a definite highlight!
Only because we were all so closely camped together and saw a lot of one another I just want to doubly say how cool Pea, Fox, SWITCH and Bforeman are, you're the best!!!!
I also had no issues with my flat tire as Souly had an air compressor with her. This board literally rescued me at the Gorge!A+++ Friendly D. I was so happy to have met the few I got to meet...Stormy, HG, Friendly, Know, Gibbons...you guys are all kick ass, so nice, and I was so thrilled to get hugs from all of ya!!! Friendly, thanks for the rum mix - your board name absolutely reflects your personality, and HG, I want to thank you sincerely for that small gift you bestowed on me; it came in VERY handy during the last 45 minutes or so of Ratatat. I was a little bummed I missed out on general camping; I was in overflow, and at the end of each night it just seemed so far away to get to and party in D4. Next year though! And I was bummed I didn't get to meet some of the other boardfolk; Pea - your leg looks absolutley nasty!!! During flaming lips I saw a blond haired dude hugging closely with a red haired girl. I aproached them and said: Stamper? is that you? Stamper and Catherine? No? Oh, I'm sorry, I guess I mistook you for some people I know on the internet. They looked at me funny. I laughed to myself sheepishly. Peace, Bradbeard Bradb_rad

I'm arriving unfashionably late. I am the only guy in the office today, so I have to be here. However, no one is stopping me from leaving early...which means I might be able to see Foo Fighter tonight.

Because I am likley to be one of the last to show up at Sasquatch from this board (I have to work tomorrow and I am jettisoning promptly afterwards), I am extremely eager to hear about the scene, the partying tonight and anything else happening.
Upload some pics if you can, or let us all (i.e. me, Lumpy and Alex) in on the going's on! Nothing will get me more excited for the drive!
See ya soon...

What happens if you get caught drinking inside the festival and you don't have a wristband to drink? in years past you have been kicked out for the day...this year it could be worse as it's one wristband for the whole weekend. I would be discreet if i were you...

Can't wait to hug and dance and sing and drink and party and laugh and jump and scream with every last one of you Pea...........SIGNING OFF!!!!!!!! Know your rights and exercise them. Ensure all your headlights, tail lights and turn signals are in working order If Pulled over, be respectful, courteous, and compliant with the officer DO NOT give your consent to search the vehicle DO NOT have any contraband in plain sight, in fact, Keep all Contraband in a LOCKED glove compartment or trunk (a warrant is required to search Locked areas of your car) Just be smart. as long as you're not drinking or blowing trees in the cop's face you'll be OK. Excellent post A+ This obviously does not apply if you are crossing the border however....

Anyone on here from Calgary? I am trying to get two boxes to someone from Calgary that had to cancel. Don't get excited, it's just decorations for her wedding. I don't mean to sound obvious, but I personally would rather send packages via a reputable source, rather than a anonymous poster with a cute avatar. my suggestions: www.UPS.comwww.DHL.comwww.fedex.comall of them ship from the US to Canada, likely faster than WOMPWOMP (no offence WOMPWOMP) and with insurance if requested
