My vote is for I8.
Since I've been on this board, HG has been fairly cordial to me and the worst hate from him has been in the form of beating down trolls.
I8 on the other hand was nominated for calling in a bomb threat at the special olympics. Even while contributing meaningfully to most threads, I really have never heard a positive comment from "the 8." Ever. Biggest hater, hands down, InterstateEight.

We should just keep posting trailers in an effort to keep E out of at least one thread

My slate of shows I'm attending this summer/fall season is shaping up to be rather awesome so I just wanted to post them to brag, and to see if anyone else is going to any of these shows. I'm in the bay area and I know there are a few others on the board who are too. so - who's comin' with me? Sept 10 - Fleet Foxes, Greek Theater, Berkley Sept 25 - Twin Shadow, Great American Music Hall, S.F. Sept 27 - TV on the Radio, Fox Theater, Oakland Oct. 1 - Neon Indian / Purity Ring / Com Truise - Rickshaw Stop, S.F. Oct. 2 - Amon Tobin: ISAM Live, Eskmo - The Warfield, S.F. Oct. 9 - Little Dragon, Mezzanine, S.F. Nov 2 - Phantogram, Filmore, S.F. I've seen Phantogram, Little Dragon, and Twin Shadow before, all were Awesome so I'm going for round two. The rest will be my first time, including TVOTR, even though I've been a fan of theirs since Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes first came out (I know, what's wrong with me??). EXTREMELY excited to see Amon Tobin's ISAM Live show. If you're not familiar with it, it's basically the future of on-stage visual production. Here are a couple links to videos of his setup: (sorry, I still haven't figured out how to embed videos). www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWai4UZ0OqIwww.youtube.com/watch?v=WLrt7-kIgIM&feature=relatedwww.youtube.com/watch?v=LeBuEPFf_SM&feature=relatedWords cannot describe how excited I am for my unusually Gem-packed show calendar. Anyone else catching these shows as they tour through your hometown?

Is there something not very attractive about the camping there? Or is it simply due to the fact that there are so many nearby hotels, especially compared to 'Squatch? Both. Camping kinda sucks mainly because the temperatures generally break 100 F (38 C) and they pack you in more tightly than other festivals. also there are plenty of places to stay in the nearby towns. My friends rent a condo every year and we just turn it into a crash pad for like a dozen people and bike 15 minutes to the festival. It gives us a shower, kitchen, and AC, which are all welcome in the middle of the desert.

Honestly, there is not much about Outside Lands this year that is very interesting to me. I would go if I lived in SF or nearby, but I am not all that wowed by it. It's no Sasquatch, but I literally live ACROSS THE STREET from golden gate park so... it would take a lot for me to miss outsidelands

Ok... back to outsidelands - the Daily Lineups are out. Is it just me, or is Friday's lineup a little weak? the only "Must See" bands for me (bands I REALLY love and haven't seen live) are Phantogram, Big Boi, and the Shins, whereas Saturday and Sunday are STACKED. www.sfoutsidelands.com/lineup/Thoughts?

I'm so down. May I suggest using ESPN FF? I find it to be the best product (and I have previously used Yahoo, CBS, and NFL leagues before).

TERRY BOZZIO!!!!!!
*(the drummer for Frank Zappa...as if I needed to say that)
Get some in you... a simple youtube search for Terry Bozzio and you will find the finest percussion work ever made by man on the most insane drum kit you could ever imagine... If you're actually into this debate, you already know who he is. if not, you're in for a real treat.
Also: Steve Gadd.. YES!... and Virgil Donati
And yes... Gene Krupa was way beyond his time.... and will always be a legend.

I agree with Pea... for my money, Stevie Ray Vaughn was the greatest guitar player to ever grace this earth. Isn't it a shame that so many great guitarists Died young, and in the prime of their carreers? (Hendrix, Allman, SRV, more that I'm forgetting)
A lot of good names have been put out there, but here of some of my faves that HAVEN"T YET BEEN MENTIONED. This is based mainly on technical ability for their time as well as having that "unmistakeable style" quality discussed earlier, rather than just on being the guitarist for a great band.
Dick Dale, Eddie Van Halen, Warren Haynes (Allman Bros. band / Govt Mule), Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Thurston Moore (sonic youth), Dave Davies (the kinks), Eric Johnson, Buddy Guy, John Fogerty (Credence), and no list would be complete without David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.
YAY Guitar Lists!
