Event on May 23rd 24th and 25th Campground Gates open May 22nd to May 25th Price: $225.00 Looks like the prices are higher @ Wild Horse for RVs and they have a 4 person occupancy restriction. Sticking with Premier. just a heads up, i think the premier campground also has that 4 person occupancy restriction this year.

i'm hoping they add some bands to Sunday and Monday, it seems like they stacked the hell out of Saturday and left the other days thin on good middle of the lineup stuff. that's just my opinion though. i wish they'd put out the times for each band, i'm crossing my fingers hoping sun kil moon isn't going to conflict with something good on the main stage (like the decemberists).
and something i remembered about last year: the headliners at the two smaller stages finished their sets right around the time when the headliners at the main stage came on. hopefully there will be something fun going on Monday around that time, since there's no way i'll stick around for erykah badu and ben harper.

if ticketmaster or livenation are the ones selling tickets (which they are) then there is going to be a "convenience" wallet rape charge. i just so happen to have one of my ticket stubs here from last year, it was $4.35/day convenience fee. i have no reason to believe they won't raise this fee, as they have been going nowhere but up in the last year. the presale begins tomorrow at 10am, so we'll know then for sure.

livenation and ticketmaster did infact merge recently, so they're essentially the same company now. livenation's fees typically aren't much less anyway (if at all). last year i know a couple of the days sold out but that didn't happen until sometime in may. the big thing about buying early is that the 3-day pass price goes up $45 on monday march 2nd.

the official website says for camping there are no refunds for early departure this year, but friday is included in the price and you get to show up at noon. last time 2am saturday was when they stated people could show up and not have to pay for friday camping, which is why so many people showed up then. it was a complete disaster as thousands tried to get around in complete darkness to set up camp without anyone directing traffic. apparently they learned from that mistake. wildhorse is approximately 1.4 miles from the gorge campground, so it isn't completely out of walking range if you're nuts and want to stick around for the general campground parties. what i'm not aware of is if you'd be allowed back into wildhorse if you're not a part of the shuttle.

I love KoL... but perhaps we're waiting on another name to drop that just couldn't be confirmed on time? PJ perhaps? that would be absolutely amazing but unfortunately it's doubtful. they'd be something worth hiding for a while though if they did infact score PJ.

No way DCFC will be added as a headliner. Or added period for that matter. Although I can agree that there is at least the possibility of a headliner added for Monday. I don't know if it has been pointed out, but on sasquatchfestival.com, the TV reads "Featuring Kings of Leon, Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails". It seems strange that they are 'featuring' two headliners and a sub. Maybe the third headliner is still to come? I say this mostly out of hope that it is true, as I am disappointed with the headliners, Ben Harper in particular. i kind of had the same thought process when i saw that, maybe they'll add a real headliner to monday. likely they just ran out of room on their little TV though

cripes people, just go to wildhorse. you pay less than the general campground price and get the same amenities as the premium campground. if you insist on staying at the gorge campground, premium/general are pretty much right next to eachother, with premium being closer to the venue.

i'm pretty sure re-entry both for yourself at the venue, and your car isn't allowed at all. you should stock up on food and drinks ahead of time since the concession/convenience store prices are asinine. note that unless they've changed the rules this year, you can't bring any soda cans, bottles or alcohol into the venue. what i do is i have a camelbak backpack which you can fill up at water stations inside the venue, then you can add whatever flavoring you want to it. don't spend heaps of money on the concession stuff if you can help it.
the walk to the venue from the campgrounds takes between 10 and 20 minutes depending on where you set up your stuff. if you get a premium campsite or a site at wildhorse campground, there's a free shuttle to and from the gates, but if you go for the general campground you have to walk.
a canopy of some sort would be smart to bring, as it can sometimes be in the 90s or above 100 during that time of year, and the sunlight is pretty intense due to the high desert setting. there's literally no trees or any form of natural shade, it's just a huge open field.
i'm not too positive about wildhorse, as i've never actually camped there (but will be this year). i know they for sure have ice and some supplies there, but if you're looking for alcohol you're best off buying it in a grocery store in ellensburg and bringing that along with you, since their stuff WILL sell out.

yeah you can show up at the on-site campground at noon on friday, which is a huge improvement over last year where thousands of people showed up in the middle of the night and tried to secure a spot. i don't think there are any single day passes this year, only 4 night passes. from what i recall the prices are nearly the same as last year, i think the general campground is a little more expensive though. if you enjoy saving money like i do, reserve a spot at wildhorse campground, it's $90 for 4 days with NO ticketmaster fees and is as good as the premium sites at the gorge itself. there's a free shuttle to and from the gates, hot showers and a cafe with really good food.

it's probably one of two situations: a) they couldn't find or afford a more popular band to headline instead or b) they're hiding the real headliner several people on this board have also talked about being disappointed at them headlining. they're a decent band, but i'll probably skip them if there's anything interesting going on at the other stages.

what? why would they be at sasquatch 2 years in a row, especially after last year where they appeared in the seattle/portland/vancouver area at least 8 times? people have seen enough of them for a couple years.

given the other bands that are listed for Wookie on saturday, i'd say they're probably likely to be headlining. either them or king khan & the shrines.

from what i've read, wildhorse has much cleaner facilities and they shut people up at midnight for those of us (myself included) that enjoy a good night's sleep. don't get me wrong i love the sasquatch afterparties, but it was a little over the top when people were still making tons of noise until 5am every morning last year in the general campground. the biggest deal for me is the price, it's $90 total for friday, saturday, sunday and monday nights, with no extra fees. if on the other hand you go for a premium site at the gorge campground, it's $160 BEFORE ticketmaster applies their convenience charges. so you're going to be saving at least $80 at wildhorse for a comparable (but better) campsite.

i'm not sure how accurate this is, but apparently Sun Kil Moon will be headlining the Wookie stage which would provide an alternative to KOL. i don't think the timeslots for each band have been made public yet, but SKM is the last band listed on the official website for saturday at that stage.

i'm not sure if this has been posted, but its worth noting that on the official website's schedule tool, friday the 22nd is listed as one of the days, with fleet foxes and tim & eric.

Yeah well, that's just, ya know, like, your opinion, man. i didnt see them last year and i have not seen them live but i heard that they are good live besides the sasquatch performance i enjoy their albums, but they really disappointed me with their live performance last year. i saw about 70 bands (some repeats) in '08 and mars volta were the worst by far. high five on the lebowski reference ;D
